How Was Your Day?

Another red-letter day in the continuing saga of getting my brother moved. The mover rep came to see it in-person and revised their bid upwards about 50%. Yet I feel I have no choice but to take it. I also was told I need to pack some areas myself before the professional packers come. I was hoping to work the pity card, having to deal with a hoarder brother and having to do all the planning of moving myself, but didn't work, I guess. And he said I could pay by credit card. I don't that kind of limit on it, the estimate is that high!
 
Today was good. Finally got to leave town. And the city reminded me why I dont 😂 Its criminal how much easier the new car is to park. But I cant even go there without seeing neighbours haha. I got almost everything on my list, so that was good. New jeans, hair bonnet, yarn, garden supplies and pizza for the way home. Its still quite green out on the highway, but soon it will be brown again 🙁 air con got a work out.

I'm always thinking of where I will live next (hopefully last) and I dont know if I could deal with that sort of traffic daily, it wouldnt be all that more convenient if I dont want to, or cant, drive. The sea breeze was so beautiful, and it was nice and cloudy down there. Just so hot and dry at home. I spent the afternoon watering the garden and washing my new stuff.
 
Yay it's raining! And there was actually a tornado watch earlier. Seriously. In Los Angeles. If I had a dog named Toto that would complete the picture. 😄

Yesterday I bought 10 more king size (ultra fluffy!) pillows from Target, so I now have a total of 20. I wanted to build a pillow castle on my bed, and I did. It was sheer bliss hiding in there. And SO comfortable!
 
Unfortunately, my day is not going so well. My poor mother had a stroke yesterday. I'm here with her in the ICU. She is in critical condition. If you're inclined to do so, please pray for her.

Closed the pool today. I could work without a jacket but I could not get out of the water in this weather. We tried a few years ago to do a closing on November 1. The temperature was just above freezing and we swore to never do that again.
 
Currently shopping for Bluetooth headphones. The ones I have aren't working properly...there's no sound on the left side. Admittedly, I'M the one who screwed them up because sometimes I forget they're plugged in. Then I'll jump up to do something or other, dragging my phone or tablet with me.

That thingie that plugs into my stuff is bent, which explains the lack of sound on the left side. Luckily I have an old pair which kinda works...it has a similar problem, but there's sound in both ears. As long as I don't make any sudden moves! 😋
 
A good friend helped me work at clearing out my brother's place today, and is coming tomorrow, too. Nine bags of garbage and two recycling went out. I've gotten most done of what the mover boss demanded, to deign to send in his crew. My brother goes on about all his friends, but none of them showed up to help him. Better to have one friend like mine than his shallow pool of dozens!
 
Relaxing Sunday for me. Got up early to do some gardening, came in for the meeting and clouds started rolling over. Did two loads of washing and then the rain started 😂 . Got some small jobs done around the place, enough to make me feel productive but not so much that I got tired out.

My neighbour is going away again so Im feeding the horses this week and want to get loads more poop for the garden. I might cheat and call one of the ladies and ask if I can steal from her pile rather than picking from the paddock, but I'll see how it all looks tomorrow. Im going to make the most of having the ute!
 
Was just loading my clothes into the washer, and one of the neighbours whom I utterly despise walked in. Her clothes were in the dryer and they were completely dry. But she restarted the dryer (a 60 minute cycle) because she knew I'd need it relatively soon.

I could've let it go, but I didn't. Here's a brief recap of our little conversation:

Me: Your clothes are coming out when my washer is done. Period.

Her: You'd better not touch them! Then she walked out, mumbling something rude.

Me (following her): If you're gonna talk shit, say it to my face.

Her: You threatened my clothes! I'm calling security!

I burst out laughing. Yes, she actually said I threatened her CLOTHES. Oh my Gawd. 😅😅

There were a few people near us, so I asked them, "Is 'threatening clothes' a misdemeanor or felony?" They were trying SO hard not to laugh but failed.

I'm NOT going out there until I'm sure she's collected her laundry. I'm still a bit annoyed, and I don't want things to escalate. I know my temper, and I'd like to avoid indulging that demon within.
 
My best friend helped me at my brother's place again. Alas, the garbage wasn't picked up, so is completely full. They have one pathetic dumpster for a 50-unit building. So we left about 15 huge garbage bags and one dirty old rug in the living room to be thrown out later. After how much that overpriced, pretentious dump has charged in HOA fees for 30 years, I'm delighted that I'm taking all their garbage space! 😈
 
I didn't sleep well last night. Not at all. Had a few nightmares as well. I'm 100% sure it's because of the laundry room incident yesterday. I should've ignored that girl instead of following her outside!

I didn't mention the fact that she looked absolutely terrified after realizing I'd followed her outside. That wasn't my intention and I felt bad later on. Not bad enough to apologize, though! After all, SHE started it. If she'd kept her mouth shut, none of that would've happened. And yes, I still despise the cow.

Just realized the second paragraph sounds like someone in middle school. 😅
 
I had to unblock the drain of my bathroom sink and the pump filter for my washing machine. Neither was complicated, but neither was particularly fun.
 
I had to obtain a cashier's check and drive it to the movers' office today, in a suburb 40 miles south. But the traffic was smooth, so it was actually a nice break from working away in my brother's place. The end is in sight for the work I can do there, except that the manager stopped me the other night from filling the dumpster. So I will have to go back just to haul garbage tomorrow, once the dumpster's been emptied.

Migraine blew out bad last night. Walked the dogs this morning and have told them to settle for the day now cos I am out of action! I wish I had some chocolate milk. But I am all out of milk completely until tonights grocery order. I feel like I need something really fatty to help my head but all I have are vegetables and lean meats, I dont even have any chocolate!
