How Weird Are YOU? :D

I sort of go through stages where i become obsessed with a television show.

Last year it was Prison Break, at the beginning of this year it was 24 and recently its Buffy again. I suppose that could be seen as a bit weird. My obsession involves me watching many, perhaps too many episodes per day.

Are you kidding me? That´s not weird that´s normal. I do it all the time. I watched all seasons of BTVS and Angel in 1 month. :)

I can't dance. I have absolutely zero rhythm. And I have no urge to dance for some reason. When most people listen to music or feel the beat vibrating through their body they tend to instinctively sway or start moving but I don't. It's why I didn't go to dances when I was in secondary school and why I don't go to nightclubs. I love music but it doesn't affect my body.

I desperately need an Ipod. Every time I walk I have music playing in my head. It would be so much better to actually have music playing instead of going off of my memory of songs (even if I have a good memory). I like music the best when I am walking and when I am in a car at night. I'm not good with day trips because I get motion sickness.

Once when I was at a Christian church (I sincerely gave other religions a try though I always knew I was Pagan) I went to the front for that whole part where the Minister puts his hand on your forehead and you faint or start speaking in tongues. NOTHING HAPPENED. I really wanted to "feel the Holy Ghost". I thought I was being open to it. But it just felt like he was pushing my forehead back with his hand. The longer I stood there waiting for something to happen to me like it was to everyone else around me (and like it happened to everyone else that goes up there) the more it just felt like he was shoving my forehead back with his hand. The only thing that happened when he did that was my foot went back to keep my momentum. My parents and siblings kind of shake their head at the fact that everyone else can be sobbing and passed out and speaking in tongues while I am there thinking, "Okay now, any minute, fill me up with Jesus, wow, even the Minister is probably thinking what's wrong with his hands for the mojo is not working on this girl".

Once I was angry at my sister and sat down on the ground to meditate. My stepfather didn't know what meditation was (which is weird!) and thought I was praying to demons and said "Not in my house" and came back with a vial of holy water and poured it on my head and started chanting Bible verses.

B
Buffy4ever2k10
I think i love you. :) I never visited a church in my life. Wait you really have to feel the holy ghost if a minister performs the ritual? I guess i would punch him in the face after touching me. But that´s just me....

I always listen to the soundtrack of OMWF in a loop if i´m outside. Every aspect of my life is written in those songs and i can relate to every line of them. That soundtrack is like my whole life as a musical.

I´m glad my parents never told me to join the church or chose a religion. I hate churches and the vatican. But if i would confess my sins to a priest it would end very badly. I guess he would kill himself right after my confession.

I love almost every religion in the world. I'm planning on getting a PhD in Religious Studies. I don't know what you've done but one of the tenets of Christianity is that you can be forgiven as long as you are truly remorseful and want to be saved.
I'm extremely UN- sentimental. Like... Well, example. I say "I love you" to EVERYBODY that I like just a little bit. I always just throw it around, "Oh, you're awesome, I love you", like that. 😀 It's just words to me, the sentiment behind it never really mattered to me... Which is why it always confuses me when people start freaking out over the first "I love you" in a relationship. 😀

Buffy4ever2k10 agrees: We love you too. Sorry couldn´t resist. 🙂

Ha! Well, I love you guys as well. 😀

Already to late for that but thanks. If there is really a god(i don´t believe in it but who knows for sure) and i´m going to meet him. I´ll probably try to kill him....or i´m going straight to hell.

The almost every religion sounds interesting. There is actually a religion you don´t like? I don´t believe in god, heaven or hell and pretending to is not my style though i´m always honest about everything but i broke many hearts with that attitude.

But i don´t judge the believers. Live and let live!

Maybe i should believe in him or her(who said god is a man?) but I nearly died two times and i never saw a light, tunnel or dead relatives.

Ther's a big difference (imo) between "friend love" & "romantic love" (what a god-awful phrase that is, couldn't think of a better one though). Wait 'till the first time you tell someone you really like (romantically, not friend-like) that you love them & they just look at you akwardly, or the first time you say it to someone & they say it back, you'll get why people freak out I assure you 🙂

Edit: Thought of a better phrase. There's a big difference between loving someone & being in love with someone. I couldn't have thought of that in the first place, doh!

Actually, this guy that I really really liked and I were kind of "Dating", and every day we had that "I love you" "I love you more" "No I love you more" "No I love you the most" conversation. 😀 Nothing ever came from it. :biggrin3:

Lol, you guys sound so wise. 😀 Maybe I will. 🙂 Still, I doubt it, simply because I only date people that I'm good friends with. That way I've already said the "I love you" (as a friend) to them. 😀

Buffy4ever2k10 agrees: Innocent? Cordelia Chase as favorite character? I don´t think so. 🙂

Salvation is supposed to be not too late until you die. Actually, there are several religions that think even then it isn't too late. Some cultures believe that a "sinner" or someone with karmic debt gets another chance in the afterlife (some religions say you automatically get sent to a number of "hells" no matter if you've been good or bad) until they are cleansed and then either go to a "heavenly" realm or are reincarnated. Some believe that you are reincarnated over and over until you learn everything you needed to know and experience all of the emotions (positive and negative). It is true that it isn't about right or wrong but about realizing that everything in the cosmos is connected and finding a way back to the pure essence of our beings.

It is good that you don't pretend to have faith. It is worse in some ways to fake it. It is dishonest and quite blasphemous to pretend to be a "believer". Besides, people should be strong and passionate in their convictions.

My sister said something today that I loved and just had to write down. "I think God hates me. Either that or the Devil loves me."

Scientology -- I have many specific reasons to dislike the religion (I've read about every religion) but I don't have any notes in front of me. It is NOT a religion. It is not recognized as a religion in the US and doesn't have tax exemption. It is simply the theories of a deceitful sci-fi author intertwined with your average self-help book. You should not have to spend thousands of dollars to reach a new level of "enlightenment". Whenever someone reached the highest level there would be another level added to explain away why that "enlightened" person didn't develop paranormal abilities. They are against psychiatry. I love pscychiatry and thought of choosing that as my career. Therapy has helped a lot of people throughout the years. There are traumas too severe to be solved by cleansing your body of toxins and being proactive. Some people need to vent and dig into their memories to find out why they behave the way they do and how to change. Imagine where the people with Dissasociative Identity Disorder (mutliple personalities) would be without psychiatry. Scientology doesn't believe in medication. I think that people do rely too much on pharmocology but in many cases it does help because for a lot of people mental disorders are physical. There is situational depression (I've had that) but there is also chemical depression. And do they honestly believe that paranoid schizophrenia should not be treated with meds? Many officials in the US, England, Greece, & Australia have spoken out against Scientology.

I am fascinated by Voudou but detest any religion in which animal sacrifice is such a large part of their rituals. The religion does get a bad rap but when it comes to the treatment of animals it deserves all of the negativity.

How close did you come to dying? Did your heart actually stop? Flatline? Did you see anything when it happened?

Lol, well, I don't blame you guys. :biggrin3: Kids are annoying. I remember last year, we all thought that we were so cool... And now all of us seventh graders hate sixth graders. 😀

I can usually be "serious and thoughtful" when I want to but today my brain asleep. I should stick to whimsical posts until it wakes up. Holy cats, it's 8pm. I guess it won't wake up today.

LMAO, I've done that too. though my family reacted a bit differently. They pretty much rolled their eyes and went like "oh well, you always were a bit creepy"

they're still convinced I'm a satanist though, just cause I like to wear black clothes... ah the ignorance.

How close did you come to dying? Did your heart actually stop? Flatline? Did you see anything when it happened?

Actually it were 3 times but i can´t remember anything from the first time. I was a child and i got hit by a truck and that´s it. Nobody could tell me what happened to me. I was the only witness and the driver wasn´t looking. After i got hit everything went black and i woke up in a hospital but i couldn´t remember the accident. I still don´t know what happened to me. The memories never came back.

The second time was pretty stupid. I drank to much on the graduation party. I never refused a bet when i was a teenager and someone told me i couldn´t drink a full bottle of Vodka at once. I proved them wrong. The doctors told me i nearly died that day but again no memories of what happened when i collapsed and me waking up in the hospital. I never got drunk again.

The third time felt more real this time and i never lost my memories. I was so close to death i could practically feel its touch. I had a ruptured appendix and the operation got very complicated and this time i actually died. I was gone for 1 minute but nothing happened. No light, tunnel, angels or anything else just silence and darkness.

I nearly died 3 times and i´m stlll standing. I don´t know if a afterlife exists but i saw nothing. Maybe i was already in hell...

While all three experiences must have been fairly traumatic since they were definitely brushes with death and mortality, I think that only the third grave encounter can really count as a “near death experience.” I read an article earlier this week by a physician that said we aren’t truly clinically dead until the blood flow has stopped for ten minutes because otherwise there is still oxygen getting to the brain. It’s why barring complications and internal damages, we could still come back from the brink. In the second close call the doctor said you “nearly died”.

If you saw nothing it could be because your spirit did not leave your body. It may have stayed put and the “nothing” or “blackness” was the result of being trapped in a shut down physical vessel, your senses not working properly at the time. It is like how many people fall asleep and then wake up hours later feeling like they just shut their eyes. Some people can feel like they don’t dream but science says we almost always have dreams even if we don’t remember them (though some rare individuals really aren‘t capable of dreams).

Or your mind could be blocking the memory the way it did with the first two incidents. When things are too traumatic our brain can prevent us from remembering. It can be a coping mechanism or just a misfiring of synapses. A lot of people do not have the memories of being in vehicle accidents, having heart or asthma attacks, being in fires, physically assaulted, etc. I know someone that doesn’t remember two years of her life because it was a bad time for her. I refer to it as her own “dark ages”.

Remembering only blackness reminds me of the nihilist theories of death and the afterlife on the Doctor Who spin-off Torchwood.

I am definitely not going to presume to know what you experienced and tell you it wasn't this or that. However, I doubt it was Hell. If it was then I think that you are lucky to have been brought back and only shown a glimpse of that dimension. Sometimes humans are given peeks or even tours of various afterlifes (Heaven, Hell, etc) to gain knowledge, spread the word (of whichever religion, spirituality, or entities), reach enlightenment to become an important figure. It doesn't necessarily mean that is the afterlife or post-Earthly existence you are going to be sent to when it is your time.

The Hell described by some "NDE-ers" involves being ripped apart by demons, in flames without their bodies being destroyed (but still feeling the pain), poked with spears, turned into skeletons, worms crawling through their insides, etc. In some ways experiencing an eternal nothingness is just as bad as experiencing eternal pain. Did you feel like you left your body and were in a place that was pitch black with no sound?

I ask this because last year I had a health scare. I walked my dog on a very windy day and then went to cash my paycheck in a smoke-filled casino. I gues the lack of air for a long period of time got the best of me. When I was in front of the teller I went blind (couldn't see anything for about ten seconds) and I couldn't breathe, I was sweating, my hands were tingling and I couldn't move them, and then my legs went out. A security guard had to hold me up until they got a wheelchair. And an ambulance was called and two paramedics checked to see if I was okay and were going to take me to the hospital but I waved that off (I didn't want to pay hospital fees, I owe $3000 from when I got pneumonia at 18 *lots of tests before they realized it was just that*).

As i can remember no i never left my body. I´m curious. You believe in demons?
I used to have a lot of ragey moments when I was a kid. I kicked my brother in the face because he performed the 52 pickup card trick and then asked me to pick them all up.

When I was 3, I told my brother-in-law I was going to marry him. People like to remind me about this a lot.

The majority of my family have eye problems. My dad, my mom, my sisters mom and my dads current partner are all blind. My niece and my youngest nephew have the worst eyesight after them, and have both had serious operations on their eyes. My niece could actually go to the blind school, but she chooses not to. My brother, sister and I always have to wear glasses, but thankfully don't have anything seriously wrong with our eyes. And that leaves just my oldest nephew and my brother-in-law with perfect eyesight.

My sis Jess and I have eye problems too. I took that big E eye test and the doctor said I counted as legally blind. Right now (even with glasses) my perception and vision is off cuz I have styes, if I don't get rid of them soon I'll need surgery.
When I study I have to stand. Yeah...I will not sit on a chair. Cause I truly believe that If I stand and read aloud I will memorise it better. I have been doing this since I was a kid. As a result, before an exam, my feet always hurt...like I have walked miles!!!:biggrin3:

I can't sleep if there is not a small light in the room. I just can't.
