How would you do another Buffyverse show?

All over the net there are countless videos of opening credits for other Slayerverse shows, people putting together their own casts and everything. One thing I've noticed is that they always nearly just recast old Buffyverse characters. ALWAYS. Sometimes they include dead characters.

Personally, I would hope if there was another show set in the 'verse that they'd only keep a couple of characters we've seen before. Like, if we had a Faith spin-off, I'd like to see maybe Spike, and someone else could be recurring, but I would hope we'd see mostly new faces.

But if you had control over another verse show, would you want a familiar cast or a new one? What kind of new show would you want? What would be the premise and how would it be set apart from Buffy and Angel?
 
I think that the only way a new Buffyverse show would be successful is if they did get brand new characters and actors and just put them in the same world. Using old characters wouldn't go anywhere...I think their journies are over.

I'd sort of like to see a prequel to the series...set in Sunnydale before Buffy arrived...perhaps dealing with a group of "underground resistance fighters" who tried to keep the demons at bay with no supernatural strength or abilities.

I'd also like for Glory to have her own sitcom...

They could always do a show set at a different Hellmouth. Are there any others mentioned in the show besides Sunnydale's and the one in Ohio?
 
I'm pretty sure there's a hellmouth under my bed...but THAT show would only be picked up by LOGO or OutTv...
 
I guess I'd want something original, I wouldn't even say no to something animated
 
If I were going to set up a new Buffyverse show, it would revolve around a group of new characters, probably 3 or 4 Slayers, and a support group (researchers, magic-users, general fighters), with maybe someone from the old show (Andrew comes to mind here, but some formerly minor character, like Clem or Willie the bartender, or even Whistler) having either a permanent or recurring role as adviser/mentor/Slayer Central contact.
 
As weird as it sounds, I'd love to see a spin-off of Satsu cause I kind of loved her character

I'd only want one character: Dawn......and it would be a more, let's say adult, show...

I always thought that the characters Gwen (Alexa "Lightning-Girl" Davalos) and Nina ("Wolfie-chick") from Angel would have made GREAT characters for spin-offs. I was disappointed that they didn't get longer arcs or even their own pilots.
 
Gwen could have had an interesting spin-off...but she was always too X-Meny for me...they might as well juist give Rogue her own show and it'd be the same thing.
 
If i were to create a buffy verse show i would set it in a remote town in the english country side where there is a hellmouth but instead of slayers there willl be demon hunters but all the demon hunters have been killed in a giant battle but then a watcher like charecter comes to the town and finds a boy who is an ansester of the first demon hunter and he trains him. The show would also include the first as the big bad but in this show finds away to become corporeal and we discover that there are 3 hellmouth around the world and all activated together would suck the world into hell but due to the sunnydale one being destroyed there are only two and they only have the power to suck the town in to hell and the boy is the only one who can stop the first. i would also include the character of faith. in the
 
I always liked WA's Next Generation idea best. At the time the show was airing, a Faith spin off would have been good, but I think it's too late now. A Willyria show could have been interesting too, had Angel continued.

Another interesting one could have been a show about the Fanged Four, back in the glory days. I don't know how sustainable that would have been though.

i'd be up for that! sounds cool and would be very interesting with the finale as buffy showing up 🙂
 
I think if there was another Buffyverse show I'd like to see something that really explores the dark side of things. Not depression and growing up like season 6 of Buffy but more to do with the real dark sides of power and the supernatural in general. If a Faith spin off had been done I would have loved to have seen them explore more of Faiths history like how she was called as a slayer and her time in jail.

That would have been great to see with seeing her trying to deal with her "demons" and having to keep her slayerness underwraps and maybe even see evil trying to get to her from in prison, that would have got me watching for sure. Also I'd like to have seen them deal with more mythological things like they do in Supernatural.
 
I'd do a series of stand-alone episodes or episode arcs explaining the stories of separate slayers throughout history, like a television adaptation of Tales of the Slayers or something, be able to explore the cultural and social context of each episode and how it would complicate the role of the slayer.

Im giving Karma points for this, I think that would work really well.
I'd like to see a show about the origin of the Shadowmen, the turning of the first slayer, the evil that drove the Shadowmen to create the slayer, the magics that allowed them to do so, the first slayer's life as such, and the role of the guardians and their scythe in all of this. I think exploring the ancient origins of slayerdom would be not only, awesome but also pretty sustainable, as it could get into ancient worlds, cultures, magics, and evils of which Buffy only barely scratched the surface.

Like many others, I'd also like to see shows about:
1.) Rogue demon fighters in Sunnydale or on other Hellmouths
2.) Tales of the Slayer
3.) The Fanged Four
4.) Ripper


I'd also kind of like to see a show about the old ones and the pre-human world or, even better, the clash between humans and demons at the twilight of demon society and the dawn of human civilization. I've always sort of thought that the demons kind of had a point, what with wanting to reclaim the world from the icky monkey barbarians who stole it. I think it would be neat to see something from a more-sympathetic-to-demons POV, with the majority of demons fighting humans in defense of their rightful place in the world while small factions try to assimilate to survive the regime change (leading to hybrids or other human-like demons like vampires and vengeance demons).

I love Faith and think a faith spin off in the way you described would be amazing 🙂

Its awesome to see someone thinks the same way as me and likes my ideas.
I would like to see a spinoff focusing on Dana, the psychotic Slayer from the Angel episode "Damage."

What happened to her after Andrew and the Slayers took her away? In this series I'd assume she recovered enough to become relatively stable (maybe with the help of magic), decided she wanted no part of being press-ganged into the Slayer Army, and struck off on her own... maybe with other disillusioned Slayers who felt the same way.

So Dana and her group would go off into the world by themselves, making their own decisions about good and evil, sometimes finding themselves on the same side as Buffy's group and sometimes on the opposite side. There would be the opportunity for various guest appearances, maybe even by major characters like Angel, Buffy, Spike, Willow, etc. Even references to Season 8 continuity.

This series would have the advantage of younger (and less expensive) stars, a nice dark, angsty background to play with, and no vast amounts of continuity to keep track of.

I dunno about everything you said, but the concept of a show about another Hellmouth, maybe set in England, with demon hunters could be really interesting.

It could be a mini-series, like a 6-13 episode limited thing.
