Question How would you have felt if Angel Investigations used guns more often in the show?

Most demons they fought did not need a special incantation or magical spell or any specific magic weapon to kill them. Other than vampires that need cross bows and wooden stakes, other demons, generally, could be killed by guns. Wesley has a couple of them. He has 2 handguns and a shotgun, I think. I bet both are licensed and legal.

How would you have felt if the show used guns more often? It's plausible, since Wesley has 3. He could lend the other 2 to Angel and Gunn since it was usually just them 3 that fought demons anyways.

There would still be demons they'd need to kill with swords and all that though, but those that can be killed by guns, will be killed by guns. How would you have liked it?
 
I would hate it. One of the best parts about Angel was the awesome fight scenes! I don't think you would get that same level of intensity with guns. I love watching swordplay and hand-to-hand fighting.

Exactly.

Plus if guns were used in more fights (demons using them too) most of our main human characters probably would have died.

I think that problem could be solved by adding a plot that demons don't use guns because they consider it too "human". Also, they prefer using magic than technology anyways. Most of them are "tribal" and "medieval" except for those that live amongst humans. Besides, they don't need guns to kill humans.

Hmmm... but Buffy used cross bows a lot! That's basically just like a gun, a projectile weapon. Just imagine it's a bullet instead of an arrow. Same concept.
 
I think Wesley used them enough already. If anything, I wanted less than what was shown. So yeah, I would dislike it.

I suppose, but firearms give you the capability of fighting from a good distance. Even if the demons viewed guns as being too "human", once the AI team began packing the heat and coming at demons with serious fire power (machine guns, snipers etc.) I don't think it would be to long before the demons began using them to level out the playing field.

Yes, Buffy used cross bows but those don't give you the same range as firearms.
 
Never thought it suited the show when they used guns so I would also dislike it.

This would've been less problematic if they had made your average demon, as well as Buffy herself, slightly more resilient. This would've forced them to use specific types of hand-to-hand weapons. Angel, as a vampire, can at least absorb gunshot wounds.

Anyway, the obvious explanation is that vampires and demons tend to be unorganized and removed from human society.
 
I think the main reason guns were never used on BtVs was because they were predominantly fighting vamps. In which, guns were useless. But in Angel, majority of the demons they fought can be killed by guns.

Besides, if guns were ever to be used on the show, it will be limited to semi-automatic handguns and pump-action shotguns only. Those are the only types that's allowed for civilians to carry. Humans on PCP can survive a few handgun shots. So demons could, I guess. As for shotguns though, I think 2 shots would be enough. So it wouldn't be an action movie full of machine guns and assault rifles! XD

LOL at the people choosing the 4th option! Hahaha!
 
Well.... Guns are useless against vampires and most demons. If Guns was used more often then it would limit the awesome fight scenes. But Wesley looks really awesome with his Guns
 
Idk, I liked that they used old fashioned weaponry! When Wesley brought out the guns, I was ok with it because it made him all bad-ass (and this coming from a girl who actually hates guns).

I don't think guns would be enough to kill most demons anyway, would they? At the end of the day, they're just little bullets. They can take out humans, sure, cause we're built differently, but using guns on demons just makes me think they'll ricochet off their demon hide or something.
 
I love the fact that there are no guns.

And there is one other thing glaringly missing.... CELL PHONES!

Angel had one, he just didn't know how to use it :)
I thought it was really unrealistic that there were no guns. It makes no sense for them NOT to use guns. From a storytelling perspective of course it made sense. Maybe most demons are bullet proof.

What a about a Gatling gun that shoots wooden spikes? I would have had one of those instead of a sword.

I'd also have an iPhone with a Vampire Killer app.

Thats basically what Connor had when he first came on the scene, which is why I thought he would be bad ass. Suppose a sword is few as more heroic. I mean, I would think a mace would do alot of damage as well, but as far as the money shot, mace wouldnt do it.

Had hopes that Fred would create some cool weapons like she did to kill the cockaroach, but that was it. It lacked weapons.
