How Would You Like Buffyverse To End?

With the TV series of both Buffy and Angel finished;
and the comics still alive and kicking;
If the cast of Buffy-verse would have one last chance to reunite and make a project related to Buffy, how would you want it to be?

A movie, a real season final, short movies/episodes or maybe nothing at all? Up to you.

Would you like a new and final Buffy project or should they just leave it alone?
I would absolutely love a final project/reunion of the cast together.

If so, what format do you want it to be in? (movie, season, short movie, animation or anything)
As much as I would love to see another season of Buffy I feel there would have to be a lot of commitment, we all know the actors are busy with personal things and work so I believe a 2hr movie format for example would be fantastic. (even though it would be difficult)

Now for the big question, how would you like to see Buffy end?
Since the comics are official, it wouldn't make sense for Buffy to make Season 8 for instance (unless it's in animation) since we're talking about a project focusing on closure.

I want to point out that I'm very grateful for the excellent job already done on Buffy and Angel, the comics are pretty neat too.

With the comics still coming out I believe it would be best to make a movie based on how the comics would end - meaning: the comics will lead up to this movie.
It makes sense too cause we all age and actors aren't any different, making a ''S8'' would seem very unrealistic.

A funny but neat idea that came to me was someone, maybe Buffy (or someone else who loves and respects Buffy) having a child and the child being named Buffy!
This opens the door to continue expanding the series rather than being ''remade'' (which is hard to do cause of the huge universe).

This also helps fans accept a new Buffy cause she's not replacing anyone, she's a new character which will keep her name alive for many years ahead (not that she needs it 😉 )

I want Buffy to end when Joss wants it to. Not before, and not after. (That is, I don't want to see someone else continue it after he no longer wants to do it.)

I would be open to a movie as long as a) Joss was calling the shots as writer and/or director, b) none of the main cast members had to be re-cast, and c) it stayed in continuity with the comics.

I've often thought a charity special might be the best way to get the gang back together for at least a short film. Like one of those Children in Need specials they do in the U.K. If it was for charity and only a one-time commitment, that would probably be the best way of convincing busy cast members to make the time.

A mini-series event would be cool. like the 24: Live Another Day miniseries about to be made. I think another 12-episode series would be awesome.

I want a movie or a mini-series that takes place 15 to 20 years after Chosen. The stuff from the comics didn't happen in this version. They need the original cast, and Joss Whedon should write the script, maybe together with some of his old Buffy writers, and he should direct the movie/mini-series.
Oh, and Buffy should die at the end.

I think it would have to be new characters, with cameos from Buffy characters.

Possibly even a Fray series, with some flashbacks to post comics stuff, to show how an event then effects events in Fray's present. Similar to the way spike/angel/Darla/Drusilla's flashbacks operated in Buffy/Angel

Why end it at all?

The "Star Trek" franchise is a perfect example of a cult favorite that the fans absolutely refused to allow to die, and worked for a continuation so hard and so convincingly that the Gods of Hollywood had no choice but to comply.

Movies, TV shows, and, finally, after enough time that the fans were ready to accept it, a reboot of the original series, and the majority of it all even taking place after the death of the Great Bird Of The Galaxy himself, Gene Roddenberry. Buffy CAN be as immortal as Spike or Angel, and can be successfully resurrected just like Buffy, herself, was, but just like with that resurrection, it took her friends to accomplish the deed.

Buffy has as big a following now, as Captain Kirk ever did, and we have the internet, something that was unheard of back when "Enterprise" boldly went where no man (late for political correctness changed to "one") had gone before. Frankly, I think that when, not if, we see our favorite Slayer or one of her descendants, return to live action, it will still be Joss' baby, but someone new will perform the delivery, but return she, and they, most definitely will.

But end? Sorry, but I guess that's something else that my Spuffy colored glasses just won't let me see.

What I wanted to mean by "the end" is the end of the cast because if there was an opportunity to make another Buffy with the original cast, it would probably be the last - therefor that part of Buffy ends.

Personally nobody can replace the old cast, I wouldn't be interested in it if they were "replaced", that's why I would really like someone else (who is or will be related to Buffy) will carry on expanding the universe (example like Angel did).

Sorry, I got carried away with my rhetoric. It's a malady common to old men who spend WAY too much time talking to themselves.

Once more, I would refer to the "Star Trek" franchise and in particular, "Star Trek: The Next Generation," where the closest thing to a crossover between it and its predecessor was a brief scene in Season 1, Episode 1, with "Commodore" Leonard McCoy being shown around the new "Enterprise" by Data. "She's got the right name," the old doctor says, referring, of course, to the ship "and the right lineage. Treat her like a lady, and she'll always bring you home safe."

Either a brief appearance by one of the original cast, suitably aged, figuratively handing over the reins to a group of young people, or simply one of the new characters saying something like, "We've sure come a long way from Sunnydale and the Hellmouth. Buffy and Faith would have loved to see all these new Slayers," then get on with the show. Any new show in the Buffyverse should acknowledge its predecessors, but no real crossover or "Buffy's Last Stand" type episode or scene. Keep the past as pretty much a mystery, allowing each fan to form their own specifics, whatever they might be.
