i dont mean the ending of the episode, but after that. if there were justice in the world and there were a season six. how would they stay alive in there? here's mine:

they throw some sword slashes in, everybody is still standing, when out of nowhere, buffy and about 50 slayers attack the demon horde from behind. xander is on a rooftop shooting flaming arrows, and willow is on the opposite rooftop incinerating demons one by one. i couldnt tell exactly how many demons there were, so willow might have to teleport the A team out of that dead end side, then buffy's team could fall back from their open end while still fighting.

that's how i see them surviving. i really hope they do these tv movies....

An interview I saw with David Boreanaz on the WB last night after the finale didn't seem like the movies were going to happen. 🙁

I like the way Chosen ended better. There was more resolution.

Angel's ending was correct for the show as Buffy's ending was correct for that show. Angel is about keeping up the good fight no matter what sacrifices you need to make and Angel has made alot of sacrifices and alot of people have died following him (Doyle, Cordy, Fred). If you watch it again, you see that they pretty much explain what happens to the remaining fang gang: They fight until they die. They already made the impact needed, Angel proved that he would be a major player in the apocalypse by destroying the Black Thorn Society. So here's what I think happened once the cameras stopped rolling:

The demons charge and the others while all four of them fight. Gunn is pretty taken out (as in dead) immediately. Illyaria is formidiable against most of the demons but is taken out by the dragon who swoops down and crushes the god's new body. Angel however does what he said he was going to do and slays dragon. Once he is finished slaying the dragon he notices that there is a dog pile on top of Spike, although he goes to help, he is too late and Spike is pile of dust. The only one left in the fight, Angel charges once more, taking out as many demons and vamps as he can, but in the end it is a stake to the heart that kills him and he turns into a pile of dust, but he has a smile on his face when it happens, because he made the best out of his soul, he made a difference.

And that's my ending, no Scooby calvary, no shanshu, no Lorne riding in with a white horse saying that he changed his mind and has brough alon Connor, Groo, Kate Lockley, David Nabbit, Nina, and Gwen to fight. None of that, it would just be the end.

where the heck DID groo go? i wonder if he got a job somewhere as a bouncer or something lol.

The first thing I would do is there would be no Girl in Question. The finale would be 3 episodes long, and the final episode would be one giant fight.

It would start in the alley behind the hyperion, and it would sprawl out all across LA. It would end at the WB building. The dragon would get Angel in it's mouth. Illyria would grab Jordan Levin by the leg, and start whumping the dragon across the mouth with him.

And as she whacked Levin into a bloody pulp across the dragon's snout, she would be hollering "Drop it! Drop it! Drop Angel".

Yeah...let's see the WB attach a condescending, smarmy, little joke-package, Thank You message to that one. 🙂

Actually how would I write them getting out alive? People are going to hate me for this but I think its the comedy aspect of buffy comenig out of me but here goes.

Id have them fighting and holding there own but obviously outmatched finally angel would find himself pinned against the wall with an axe comeing at his head when suddenly the demon would go flying *or lose its own head* and there would be buffy "miss me? a mutual friend of ours said you might need a hand". It would pan out and you would see 50 or so slayerettes and a willow helping fight the on coming hoard *maybe kennedy could die here that would work for me*. Joining the fray Angel, Spike and buffy are doing just fine when angel would ask.

Angel "Mutual friend?"
Buffy "Ya, my boyfriend. You know the immortal."
Spike "That lousy ponce. Its not bad enough he steals our girls..."
Angel "Now hes got to ruin our apocalypse too."
Spike "Sends in a bunch of girls to do our dirty work. What does he think we are"
Buffy and Willow "Girls?"
Angel "And hes probably out seducing Nina as we speak. Thats his style you know. Make me look like an fool and steal my girl. Should never of sent her to italy."
Buffy "Nina?"

Would go something like that but Im of course one of the half that thought The girl in question was a good episode 🙂.

I'd like to see the fight progress with them all being pinned down, not killed but taken capture by the demons and then sent straight to where the Senior Partners are and "trialed" for their own personal hell. As I've mentioned before, they would be sent to another dimension. Where some part of Season 6 would be about them escaping, when they finally escape they notice the city of LA in ruins, and 600 years have passed - the Apocalypse, as it was foretold, has happened. In there they would also find Wesley and Lindsey - but not Lorne, apparently Lorne has returned to Pylea. But when the Apocalypse occured all worlds within the grasp of the Senior Partners crumbled and burned. Lorne then escapes to LA(Pylea is in a different timeframe, so he has only aged about 20 years while 600 years have passed in our Dimension).

He stumbles upon Angel and Lindsey, he hasnt seen them in 20 years but they saw him last a few months ago to their memory. Lindsey is still very angry about how Lorne killed him, but Lorne barely remembers it. The entire world is now overrun by Demons, mankind is enslaved and a few slayers fight the evil. The watchers council still exists, and Angel finds out he is responsible for the apocalypse. By killing the Black Thorn he unleashed the horde of demons that came crashing down on him. the Senior Partners apparently played him, the death of the Black Thorn was the ritual sacrifice needed to open the gates to hell.

I'm all about people having their own opinions...but this stuff really irritates me. This was 'Angel'. Not 'Buffy'. That ending would ruin the whole series. Bringing 'Buffy's story over to help in the last fight. People need to realize that these are two different shows. Bringing all that would completely overshadow 'Angel's stand-alone.

I love how it ended. It was perfect for Angel, just as Guestage pointed out.

I think it's really hard to think of something. The only ending that makes sense is them all dieing.

However at VirtualSlayer we want to do a Season 6 of Angel, so we'll have to think up something else... and since we think the cavalry (army of Slayers or just all sorts of friends from the past) is too cliché... I'll just have to have a long think about this.

The way that some of you are thinking, Slayer army, that's kinda how Buffy ended, or am i crazy? I am going to write a fanfiction and post it in the writing forum for sure. I am definitly going to make the fact that they are behind the hyperion come into play. he he

oh yeah, i agree with ya there. but as far as them coming out alive (like i'd WANT, but probably wouldnt happen), that's just all i can come up with. he shouldnt be overshadowed, but to me it runs along the theme of all the people he helped in his crusade, helping him out for a change. and the buffy gang is the only one i could think of that actually COULD return the favor. instead of the other scrubs he rescues i mean. i'm not saying they need to stay around, but i just want em to survive that freakin blitz.

and NERD4HIRE - you've got my favorite ending so far!

He works at Disneyland as Prince Charming, except he thinks everything there is real. He doesn't realize that his princess Snow White is white trash who smokes and cusses like a sailor. Poor Groo.

Another brilliant Nerd4Hire speculation, that would be the perfect ending. I think Jordan Levin is a former member of The Black Thorn Society myself, just speculation.

And let the games begin. Wonder how many "Angel's real ending" fan fics are going to pop up after this? Not mocking anyone for trying, fan fic is great and I think that this cliffhanger ending has inspired alot of people to write their own ending. I'm giving it a week until everyone has their own Never Fade Away part 2, hopefully they'll be fun reads. Please no Slayer armies though. Pig in the basement armies are acceptable, but please no slayer armies.

I kind of like Razekial's idea, where the hordes of Wolfram & Hart aren't coming to kill the fearless four. They're coming to take them into custody, possibly for breach of contract.

There's a fact most fans seem to walk past. A law exists that even the Senior Partners are answerable to. Angel can take people into protective custody from the Senior Partners under that law. Contracts have to be signed in blood to be legal under that law, and so on.

Here's another one. Everyone seems to be jumping all over the idea only Buffy and her crew would be powerful enough to save the four. Angel has a more powerful ally. Think ending of Amends. What if the rain turned to snow.

Oh yeah, in case you're wondering; this time I'm serious.

I can't really contribute to this thread right now, because the idea(s) that I have are most likely going to come forth in an episode of a project I'm in charge of (it's a spinoff of the BtVS Virtual Spinoff 'Watchers'), but wanted to comment on what's been said so far.

I agree that having Buffy and Co. ride to the rescue sort of cheapens the nobility of the episode's ending, cliffhanger or not, but having characters who are signature to ANGEL showing up wouldn't be out of the question.

I do think that people are underestimating Angel and Co's chances. Sure, Gunn is most likely toast, but the other three stand a chance (slim though it may be) of actually coming out on top due to a few different factors:
1) Angel's got the power of the Senior Partners flowing through him thanks to him having fed off of Hamilton, which makes him even stronger than he normally is
2) Illyria is a freaking demi-god. She might not have her time-manipulation powers or her immortality any more, but she's still as strong as, if not stronger than, both Angel and Spike put together (look at what she did to Vail). Plus, she's pissed off about Wes' murder, which is gonna make her even more formidable
3) Spike's gonna keep fighting till he can't fight any more, and even then he's not gonna give up till he's been reduced to dust. Plus, he's got a kamikaze style of fighting that makes him very, very dangerous

My first post is mostly just for the humor factor. I dont think Angels Avengers should be saved by buffy however if you want them to come out alive there arent many options. If your fighting a supernatural army you need your own supernatural army.

Now possible things that could happen. WRH could take them into custody rather then trying to kill them. This would insure that they all live even if tortured until the escape but there still alive. Not likely though. If you think Illyria is pissed I imagine it pales in comparison to there rage. Think 800 years of work possibly down the drain over 1 night.

Prehaps Illyria will be able to "tap" into her former glory. Say the beam opened a 2 way portal to were her power was drained to allowing her to, for short times and with major reprecussions, tap into and use her old powers. Again not very likely simply because how would you moderate it as a writer? When is to much usage to much and when is it not enough.

My wife came up with this one 🙂. What exactly happend to the hotel after they left it? Angel could certainly keep making the monthly payments with no issues now so whats up with it? Obiviously its not being used as a hotel otherwise why fight behind it? My wife thought it would be interesting if Angel "lent" it to the local slayer department. This would give them a small contegent of slayers to aid them without pulling in buffy and crew. This is a far FAR stretch though. First of all the slayers as a whole wont trust angel at all so why take his charity? Second even if he had done this after damaged he would most certainly had to stop to get into the circle. Still would of been a good idea on his part.

Now of course we get to the PTB as a possible means of being saved. Hes obviously proven hes still on there side despite the sacrafices of charictor hes had to make to do this. We have yet to see just how many "champions" they have besides angel. Like in episode 6? the 5 wrestlers. They were the champions in LA of there time. Humans true but still strong and capable of slaying demons effectively. How many are there that could be called in by the PTB to aid angel at this time? Or maybe even more direct interaction by them. Lighting bolts from heaven, healing and enhanceing there normal ablities for a short time and the like. /shrug.

But you never know. They very well may be able to handle it themselves. They are in an ally so only so many of them can actually attack them at a given time plus if you build up enough bodies in teh front it becomes a wall of bodies they have to climb over making it even harder to get to them. Hey its possible it is Angel, Spike and Illyria we are talking about *Gunn is a good fighter but mortally wounded and after all only human* after all.

About the PTB possibility- The powers that be don't think the same way humans do in that sometimes there is no payback or saving grace. Angel did his job and destroyed the Black Thorn Society and since he did his part and signed away his Shansu option, they probably don't give a care what happens to him now. I can't picture them risking another champion just to make sure Angel gets a happy ending, the ptb don't work like that. That's what the whole series is about, doing what's right even if you don't get anyback for your good deeds. Plus, having the PTB intervene would cheapen it.

More about the slayer army- Back to the topic of Buffy busting in and trying to save the day. How do we even know Buffy and her can even stop the approaching demons if they tried? We are talking the Senior Partners? And Angel did say that the Partners would be wanting to do the worse damage, worse that has ever been seen. They didn't just kill a big bad who wanted to turn into a demon or an evil underneath the hellmouth with a group of ubervamps, they killed off the one group that has had the ball rolling for the apocalypse for decades now and it will take the partners even more decades if not longer to get that back together. Angel and the fang gang are in for much worse than The First can ever bring on (I believe that the Senior Partners have been much more powerful than The First for a while now). Buffy's meddling would only cost her and her friends her life. And even if they were to destroy the first wave of dragons and hooded demons, the partners would just send even more after them one after the other until all of them were dead. It wouldn't be over until the Senior Partners themselves were vanquished and Angel has even said that he doesn't think they can be killed. To restate my point, the SP wouldn't send one group of robed warriors and if Angel and his superfriends were able to kill him, do you think they would just say "Okay, I think he learned his lesson, we'll let him live let's go watch Ernest Goes to Camp"? This is something that Angel wouldn't be able to escape, the only way would be to somehow find a way to kill the Senior Partners themselves, hopefully that will be what the rumored movie would be about.

we're not saying that. well, at least i wasnt. i just think they could help long enough to make an escape...

As far as who's tougher on this plain of existence the Senior Partners or the First, I think it's important to remember the Senior Partners actually put down the First's apocalypse by sending Buffy the amulet and the books.

But back to my fanfic ending.

What exactly did make it snow in Amends anyway? There's an arguement that goes it was something bigger than the Senior Partners, or even the Powers That Be. Yeah I know...Joss is an atheist. So what?

In my fanfic the battle between the minions of the SP and the Four heroes would begin. Back and forth, back and forth it would go. The leader of the demons would talk to his second in command. The one would reveal how they were to take Angel in for trial, or failing that just kill him. The other would say something like "Well they're obviously not going to give up, so let's just kill them" They'd shrug and say "OK".

Just then the rain would turn to snow. Illyria, Gunn, and Spike wouldn't know what it meant, but Angel would know.

A portal would open between dimensions and a hooded figure would walk out. It would be one of he Senior Partners. He would give Angel the option of fighting to the death or standing trial. Angel would choose trial rather than see the other 3 die unnecessarily.

All would walk through the portal and the trial would begin in another dimension.

Trial? Why would Angel give up his whole plan and go to trial? Why would he risk the lives of everyone, making Fred's and Wes' deaths not matter? Going to a lose-lose trial would be pointless. The Senior Partners are not interested in having a trial for the guy who just killed their whole pawn army. They're interested in killing him. He's interested in killing them.

I still don't think the Buffy army idea is viable. It would overshadow 'Angel' no matter what. Anyone outside the 'Angel' world would cause a loss of credibility. It would be nice if Nina, Groo, the 5 Luchadores, and Connor came to help... but other than that, it wouldn't be right.
