I unlike alot of people didn't find it first in my family. My father did. He showed it to me and I watched it. To this day he considers it one of the most well written shows in the past 20 years. He watches Buffy still.

I was flicking through the channels and I came across a very hot looking man in leather pants..Angel of course..and I started to watch the rest of the ep..and I found out it was BecomingPt2..and Ive been hooked ever since..

Unlike your dad my dad hates Buffy (Don't know why he has never watched an episode in his life)

I first got into it when I saw What's My Line Pt1 at the end and thought hmmm cool.

I remember when I first saw Buffy, I was only 11 didn't really like horror stuff. I saw the vampire and thought hell no this is scary. (This was at the end of The Harvest)

Coincidentally I got into the books when I got one free with a magazine.

My dad says he hates it too..but when Im watching it, he always seems to be in the room and then the questions start coming out..

Our local station started running ads for this new show called Buffy the Vampire Slayer...luckily I had never seen the movie 😉

They ran the ads for about 3 weeks and then Welcome to the Hellmouth ran and I tuned in and have been watching it since the very first day it aired....never missed an eppy! 🙂

Well, it all started out when I was watching TV. I was really bored, and I went to the TV guide channel and was wondering what was on. I saw Buffy the Vampire Slayer and I was like cool. But I didn't watch it. So this year, I was watching Charmed, and my friend was there, so I asked her, 'Hey, You said you watched Buffy when you were little, right?' she said yes and she said it was a good show. My sister said it was a crappy show, so I didn't watch it. But I recently was like, 'I am bored! I am watching Buffy no matter what my sister says!' So I watched it and I liked it. Perty interesting story, if I do say so myself.

Well Buffy was one of those shows, I see go on, and change the channel. It was like King of The Hill, to me.Whenever I watched simpsons, on Global, The King Of The Hill goes on after, and I'd change the channel. That was what I would do when Buffy goes on.There were times, when I was extremely bored, so I watched Buffy.I began watching Buffy, everytime I was bored. After years of watching it, It became my fav show.I didn't really know about ATS.Space, was one of the networks that aired Buffy. It currently airs Buffy, Angel, Firfly, and so many others, everyday.Anyways, one day I was flipin through the channels, and I found Angel. The first episode I saw, or was it the second, was the eppy where Bad Cordy, and Connor are getting ready for the birth of Jasmine.(The ep, before Darla appears for the last time in season 4.The eppy where Darla is trying to convince Connor to stop the ritual, of Jasmine's birth. The ep i saw was the episode before this ep.)I began watching it.It wasn't as good as Buffy, but it was great. It became my second fav show.

I was watching it when s4 aired in Norway, Pangs (mainly cos of Spike) got me hooked, but stopped for some reason, then I started watching again, but now Buffy had a sister and there were monks and everything was weird, and I stopped watching. then a long time after my brother got himself a girlfriend, and her sister is a huge Buffy fan, and she had gotten my brother watching. So he asked me if I wanted to borrow the s1 dvd, and I figured it could be fun. And I got totally hooked. And I haven't regretted that for a second!😀

Well, my dad first started watching it when it aired first, but then he stopped after the first season b/c he said it got too "fake" (what's he talkin about?) and then a few years later my cousins (they're BillieHunter and HunterHorse on here) made me watch a few eps of it because they were completely obsessed with it and then all of a sudden i was hooked.
Now I'm so obsessed with it that my friends and family just walk away whenever I start talking about it (whoops lol)

I was interested when S7 was showing but only caught bits of it so I watched Chosen and liked it and watched the repeats over last summer. I can remember at some point seeing Grave (and not knowing what was going on) but it was the scene where Willow sends the knifes at Giles. I can remember thinking the SFX wasn't too bad.

Also I can remember seeing the advert for "The Witch". The line "You were chosen to destroy vampires, not to... wave pompoms at people" stuck out.

My sister got me into it, the first episode I remember watching was season 1's Never Kill A Boy On The First Date - I must have been about 8 yrs old. I watched it from the end of Season two through to season three, missed season four, watched season five to the end. All the episodes I have never watched I caught up on in the Sky One repeats of two summers ago. Of course, they are doing the repeats again which means I have to buy blank tapes to record all the episodes I havent got. I owe it to my sister but she stopped watching it after Season three - but she watched The Gift and cried, could of been cause she was drunk, dont know, and I filled her in with the storyline whenever she listened anyway. My mum and dad hate Buffy but my cousin is obsessed and I know soem people in school who used to watch it weekly, and do their own rituals. Me and my mate would be in school on a Friday (after it's Thursday airdate on Sky One) sitting in history and we would talk about the newest episode and argue our opinions - ah, old days eh?

Well, my mom was flipping through the channels and we saw Anthony Stewart Head, and i yelled-"It's the coffee guy!" So my mom stopped and we watched it. (It was the first episode)
Then my dad said, "Oh it's that Buffy the vampire slayer show, i saw in tv guide."
then i went- "I loved that movie!" (Well, i did)
so we watched it from that day forward. My mom, my dad, and me.

Well I heard about the show but never got to watch it because I never knew when it was on, since I was too lazy to find out and plus I didn't really care for the show at the time. One night me and my brother and mom were watching TV and nothing good was on so then we landed on a channel that was giving Buffy, it was the first episode from season one "Welcome to the hellmouth" . Ever since then I tried to watch every episode but missed most of season 1 and 7. My dad doesn't like Buffy or Angel, I'm not exactly sure why though. And I have no idea how or when I first started watching Angel ::huh::

I was bored (like usual) and was just flipping through channels. I saw something that looked like a vampire and decided to watch that, I was slightly interested in the supernatural back than.

I mainly got hooked because SMG was on it.

Yes, SMG is the MAIN reason why I watched BtVS and I just watched Angel because they killed BtVS and I was wondering what the hell would happen and stuff so I watched AtS to see if SMG would come on. Also I had nothing else to watch.

I first got into Buffy a couple years ago, our school was having this book fair (where we sold a whole bunch of books) and I came across one with a really hot guy on the cover (who I later found out was Angel). It was a chapter book that was the written version on the BTVS episodes "Surprise", "Innocence", and "Passion". I read it and at found the whole story really cool. Anyway, about a week later I was going through the channels and found Buffy on TV. It was Buffy's birthday one, season 6 (where Dawn gets everyone trapped in Buffy's house). I didn't recognize any characters though (somehow I thought Xander and Anya were Buffy's parents and Dawn her best friend 😛 ) Anyway, it turns out it was part of a holiday marathon, so I ended up watching like a dozen shows in a row and I've been watching it ever since.

Well for me i was in 5th Class or if you like 5th Grade (I Know) this was in 1998 and Buffy Season 2 was showing on BBC2 in UK and i didn't know what it was or even cared what it was. But the day after i went into school and a guy was talking to some people and i over heard him say "Did you see that new show last nitght. it was called buffy, and that girl is seriously hot" so the next week i tuned in and thought yeah she is hot but Alyson is way hotter and have been watching ever since. that happened when i was like 10 and i'm now 16

I started watching it barcause my mom , smg and that I had actually seen the movie (its awful but I still love it!)----
smg I watched on swans crossing and all my children
