Dia: That is an interesting theory. You've put some thought into it. I want to read it again at a later date, and then maybe I'll have a better grip on your idea...
 
So Alleycat....it is Love....Sacrificing himself so that Snape and Malfoy(and the Malfoy Family) can live......

Dumbledore may put forth love but he is also intelligent. He knows that as long as Voldemorte is alive the world or Muggle and Wizard are in dire peril....the only thing that can be done is kill Voldemorte...and the only one who can do it...Potter....Dumbledore would also realise that Harry as was, was no match for Voldemorte...however Harry having seen the death of his Teacher/Father Figure was enough to give him the power, conviction, courage and strength to take the fight to Voldemorte as opposed waiting for Voldemorte to come after him...possibly killing more of his friends in the mean time....there is no other plausible explanation.
 
You have put a lot into your theory and I think it may be very plausible, but that doesn't mean I have to like it. 😀 I was wanting someone to be evil so I could blame them for Dumbledore's death. But, you could also use all of your clues to come to a completely different conclusion (one that isn't so sad) in which Snape is evil. I'm having to go to school like now, so I can't post all I want, but I'll be back later tonight to add some more.

BTW, one of my friends informed me that if he wanted to be really weird he could use all the clues to say that Harry and Dumbledore are evil and Voldy is good. He is now banned from the Harry Potter fan club. But we still love him, even though I think his views are more along the lines of Hitler fans, but whatever.

I put no stock in Voldemort being good, but I do see why Salazaar Slytherin didn't want muggleborns at the school. Muggleborns means muggle parents know about the wizarding world, who can say if they'll all keep their mouth shut. To a degree, excepting muggleborns does risk breaching the secrecy that wizards have come to depend on.
 
I think it is people like the Dursleys that Salazar feared or hated. They always say that Harry is a freak just like his parents.

I have started reading the books from the beginning again and am currently reading The Order of the Phoenix.

I keep noticing that Snape refers to LV as The Dark Lord whereas everyone else refers to him as You Know Who or He Who Shall Not Be Named etc.

Only the Death Eaters refered to LV as The Dark Lord, which makes me think Snape really is bad.
