I don't know, if it's either him or Angel, I honously can't choose, it would kill the other one of grieve.

Angel has been waiting for the whole human thing for 7 years now. Spike has only really wanted to be human since season 7 of Buffy.

Well, I hope he does ultimately. It would be nice...I'm just praying they don't destroy his character by making him evil again...It would be great if they could both achieve it...I don't see why they couldn't...

well I dont think Spike will become human in the real reality but I do think that we will see Spike turn human in another little reality.

Spike's had a death wish for a very long time. That's the only way to explain his behavior over time.
Now that he is dead, he's stuck in limbo - being a ghost. That's not what he wanted. That's why he needs to become human now.
Being human would allow him two things. Buffy and actual mortality.

don't get me wrong, I much prefer Angel, but I'd rather see Spike become human. That way he can be with Buffy, and Angel can continue to be cool, broody, super hero guy. I think Angel is a much stronger and more interesting character when he's not romantically involved with Buffy.

My guess is that he will. Don't know when or how...but I think he will end up human in the end. Perhaps it will wait until the end of the season...perhaps until next. I think they won't keep two vamps with souls on the show for long though...and Angel definitely can't go human.

plus it would be an interesting dynamic for Spike. A lot of his value in recent years has been his physical strength. It's the primary reason Buffy began to trust him in season five, asking him to watch her sister and mother, and using him in the fight against Glory. How would Spike deal without his superpowers?

I don't think so...I don't know if I really want him to be human. I mean, I think Angel deserves it more. Again, all that I really care about is that that episode is really good.

I'd probably stop watching the show if Spike got to Shanshu. (Who am I kidding? I'd still watch, I'd just be really pissed off.) It's Angel who deserves it. He's been wanting it for 3 years now, and Spike's only just got interested in it. To me, Angel deserves it more. Plus, it is Angel's show. 😉

How would being human allow him to have Buffy? It would certainly allow Angel to have Buffy, but it would make no difference to Spike 'cause he doesn't have a curse to prevent him from finding happiness.

The writers could've actually had Spike become human in S7... in S6, Spike asked to be what he was before. He wasn't a demon with a soul before. He was human.

I'm with Slayerangel, how would being human allow Spike to have Buffy? There's no difference than when he is a vampire with a soul except he's stronger... which I would think is better for Buffy...

Good points but I think that Buffy wants to grow old with someone. She doesn't have to fight as hard now since there are so many slayers now. Spike could still kick some ass but he'd just have to be a bit more careful.

Slayerangel, I had the same thought at the end of season 6. I thought he would be human again possibly. But I don't know if that nesessarily means that he never will be. Maybe it does but IF it does then I hope he would consider moving on to another spinoff so I can keep him longer. 😛

Lol! Rene are you saying that all human men are sissy girl men?! *roflmao*

Seriously, if Spike becomes human I will just be so damn furious. Angel is the one who has suffered for 100 years. Who gave up the person he loved more than anything. Who went to hell for hundreds of years. Angel has been through so much, and worked so hard, and done so much good. What has Spike done?
He never helped Buffy because he wanted to until he got the soul...when he saved the world it wasn't exactly his choice, all he really did was "moan in a basement" for a few weeks and then try and take over Wolfram & Hart. Angel will shanshu! Not Spike.

well said it Josh 😉!!!

he should become human!!!!

Just because Angel has suffered for hundreds of years (and hey--he didn't ask for that suffering either people, it was burdened to him) does not mean that he is the deserving one of becoming human (And I'm not talking shanshu~clearly it's hard to believe in the shanshu prophecy... both the vamps have saved the world, Spike has even given up his 'life' to save the world... and nothing. I'm talking just everyday magic or what not here.)

We have seen Angel as a mortal human...and it sucked! Remeber? Angel could not handle it. He much rather prefers to be a hero, with the strenght and ability to protect the world. That is what he is most comfortable with. He can't handle being a human.

Spike, while only having a soul for a little over a year, has not yet tasted what it was like to be a human, losing his power. Spike may not have done as many good deeds as Angel (hmm... over a hundred years with a soul vs. one year with a soul. Of course there is a difference) But may I remind you, there are some times that Spike has helped out without the presence of a soul. Now, I understand that most of the times that he helped out he was influenced by the chip, and chose to help Buffy because that was the only thing he could do. I suppose Spike fans will never convince Angel fans that this still does make him somewhat good, pointing him down the right path for ultimate goodness.
But put that way... the only reason that Angel is becoming a hero of the people is because he is cursed... he's using saving as a means to an end to help him deal with his soul and grievance. It's the only thing he can do to deal with what he did.
Yet~ remember season 2, Becoming, part 2? Spike teamed up with Buffy to help defeat Angel. No chip, no soul. Yes, he had a reason, to get Drusilla back... but nobody on the show is altruistic enough to want to help people for the greater good of humanity. Everyone is helping out because they can't ignore what goes bump in the night, they are chosen, they are cursed with a soul or they are dealing with a soul.

So, in the end, I vote Spike. Whether or not any of the vampires 'deserve' to be human (which they really aren't, because they are evil things). He died to save the world and put up with a lot of stuff and that a lot in my book.
