What Buffy Enthusiast would be complete without one of these? Also seen on Angel but not as well known there.
This was a long fought battle for me that finally paid off when I found a machinist who would cut it to MY specifications and not his own.
These used to be readily available at martial arts supply stores and such, now your lucky to catch the guy on E-Bay that sells them for $250 a pop!

They used to sell them at Atlanta Cutlery. I had a friend who had a couple that he used for throwing. Because of the design, it's virtually impossible to NOT make the thing stick into whatever it hits.
 
Yup...that's another place I used to see them all the time.
It's an interesting note that they ARE for throwing and fall into the category of Medieval Weaponry known as a "hurl-bat".
It's pretty much a given, when this thing is thrown, that some part of it is going to cause some damage.
 
I just always wanted one to hang on my wall. It was really nice to finally realize a long time goal!
 
Generally speaking there's about a three and a half week turn-around on mine.

For anyone who might be interested, the Hunga Munga is one of the weapons used by the Zande Warrior in the "History's Deadliest Warriors" episode, "Aztec Jaguar vs Zande Warrior," which will give some idea of the weapon's real use. (It's available on the web, but I don't think that I'm allowed to post the location here)

I was talking about the video, not the weapon. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
I would love to have a hunga-munga. I love the episode of Anne purely for those last few fight scenes. I've wanted one since I was about 13 and I've thought about getting one seriously for the last couple of years. The ones I've always found have just been to damn expensive, and to be honest, I very highly doubt I'm going to find one at a decent price in Australia. There's no friggen way one of these bad boys would get through customs, so there's no chance of me ordering one from overseas either 🙁

If customs is a problem, you could always try making one for yourself. If you can't do the sheet metal work, try making one out of cardboard, plastic, or thin plywood, then find someone who can use that as a pattern to make the actual model. Remember that these things were originally made by hand by a relatively primitive people. They really don't have to look all that refined. Of course, there's no reason why you couldn't make a second, third, or more, refining your technique each time, until you get exactly what you want. That way, you'll not only have your very own hunga munga, you'll have an interesting story about how you made it as well.

That's actually not a bad idea, now that I have some free time it would be the perfect opportunity to take on a new challenge. I already have some heavy duty art work that I'm planning on starting this weekend, but the hunga munga might be a good new challenge. Perhaps I'll just paint a pop art take on the hunga munga and combine the two projects!

I may be able to get you one if you want...
I have some friends in Australia that purchase props like this all the time and they tell me
that as long as it's marked either "Prop" or "Movie Replica" they don't have any problem getting dangerous looking stuff from other countries.
If you like I can look into it for you?
