Yes it was a shame with what happened to Peeta but I'm glad that
the writer didn't just get rid of his bad memories and had them live happily ever after. I think it makes it more real that he still has problems that he needs to live through. It would have been too cliche otherwise. 😛

ITA, that pain and the memories is what make the story so heartbreaking and really makes you feel for the characters.

The Hunger Games. My latest obsession.

These books are literally so good. I randomly picked up the first one about a month ago and read for like seven hours, getting only ~100 pages in. I was completely engrossed by the story. Really disappointed when I had to put it down and go to work. I powered through the other two in a matter of days.

On another note, I find the character of Katniss to be really inspiring and see a lot of parallels between she and Buffy. (What is it with this pesky appreciation for strong female characters? Oh, Joss...)

Anyone else read these?

So I looked up what It was about and it's basically Batoru Rowaiaru and Running Man put together with a new name slapped on.
 
I LOVED Mokingjay. It doesn't revolve around a love triangle anymore it's more about a war and the permanent damages it causes. Its truly touching and heartbreaking. Especially the epilogue.
 
I love Mockingjay as well, I wouldn't have changed a thing.

I can't believe the movie will finally be in theatres next week! 😱 I am so excited!
 
Is anyone planing on braving opening night? I think I'm going to wait a couple days to let the crowds dies down before going to see it. 🙂
 
I was going to go to the midnight showing, but I've decided that I just don't feel like going to buy my ticket early, and then standing in line for hours till midnight. 😛 I'll probably go the day of March 23rd if the tickets aren't all sold out.
 
I can't wait to see the movie! I'm going on my birthday so it will have been out for a few weeks, so it'll be less crowded then, even though I don't want to wait. I'm almost finished with the last book, wish there was more.

Except I won't be seeing the midnight premiere. I'll be behind the candy bar selling food and drinks to the lucky people who will be. 😀

I'm also very excited for the movie to come out! I can't wait to see how they pull it off, what with it being PG-13. They'll have to tone down the violence, I guess...
But I bet it'll still be great!
 
Another hunger games fan here!!! I will read through this thread as soon as I finish the third book!!! They are so good 🙂 But cant risk spoilers talking about them... be back in.. probably a day! :L

The actors who play Peeta, Gale and Cato were in Toronto today and my friend went there after school and got to see them, I'm so jealous! 😱 And she only JUST got into the series last week, meanwhile I've been a fan since last summer. 🙁 Oh well, I still can't wait for the movie. 😀
