Hunger Games fans

Finished the books. AMAZING!! Going to see the movie tomorrow! And already planning to go to the UK premiere of the second movie!! 🙂

I can't believe people are going to be seeing it tonight at midnight! 😱 I'm so jealous, I was originally supposed to be going tonight... But going Saturday will be fine anyway, I'm so excited!! 😀

I didn't know what is this movie that everybody's talking about wherever I go. But I found out recently, plus saw all the promos and ads, and it looks amazing, and I'm dying to see it!

So I just came back from Walmart and I got a new HG poster and the collector's edition soundtrack. I'm so ready for this movie on Saturday! 😀

Have you read the books? I really enjoyed them, you should check them out. 🙂

I saw the film tonight. It was fantastic. I have no complaints, only praise, but my thoughts aren't too coherent right now. I loved it, though.

Some idiots in the screening wouldn't shut up, so we complained and got some free tickets, I'll be going to see it again in the week. 😀

I FREAKING LOVED THE MOVIE!!! IT WAS PERFECT!!! All the changes they made except for two didnt bother me and Icompletey understood why they made the changes they made and I loved every second of it. It was like the book in my head coming to life. Just perfect. I'm going to see it again tomorrow lol

The only two things that bothered me was when Katniss screams out Peetas name after finding out two can live in the movie she just whispers it and that bothered me because in the book that moment was so powerful it made me cry.

Also at the end when she holds the berries up above her head and then goes to eat them. In the movie she doesnt hold it up and I was dissapointed cause again that was so powerful for me in th book.

But yeah two little moments vs the rest of the flawlessness doesnt even matter it was so good!! lol and I've gotten two people at work to start reading them lol.

That bothered me too, that she didn't scream out his name

I thought they did a great job adapting the first book to film. The only thing I didn't like, which admittedly is superficial and insignificant, is Peeta's height. I imagined him a good bit taller. I was also glad to see that they didn't try and play up the love triangle anymore than necessary.

I cannot wait for the next one to come out. 😀

There were one or two little things that I didn't like, but other than that it was fantastic 😀

Oh my gosh, I just got back from seeing it. I am speechless, it was amazing. Better than I expected. They did such an amazing job adapting the book, it was like seeing the whole book on screen. I understood that they had to leave out/change a few little details, but nothing major. 🙂

The only thing I was disappointed in were Katniss and Peeta's chariot outfits. In the book, I imagined that their whole outfit was on fire and that it sort of surrounded them, but in the movie, it was sort of like a small flame tailing behind their backs as their chariot moved... It was awkward to watched because I expected so much more. 😛 But besides that, the movie was amazing, Jennifer Lawrence is a terrific actress, and I really want to see it again soon! 😀 And this week I'm going back to the theatre 'cause they were selling Mockingjay pins and I want one. 😛

John Carter, a movie geared towards young males bombed massively.
The Hunger Games, a movie geared towards young females was a huge success.

lol. And btw I love you banner!!! Pokemon ftw!!! :)
Just watched it. I'm really impressed--I thought they had the tone exactly right, and I'm super happy that the whole love triangle wasn't overemphasized as I feared.

I don't think THG is geared towards young females... Yes, the majority of the fandom are girls because it seems like girls read more than guys (and there's a bit of a love triangle but nothing major), but I'm a guy, I've read all the books and seen the movie, and there's nothing girly about it. 😛 Guys will enjoy it just as much as girls will. Actually, all the guys I know who've read the books, loved them. 🙂

Is there anyone here who has seen the film who hasn't read the books? I'm interested to see the opinions of the non-book readers, if it was as enjoyable if you've not read them.

My friend watched the movie with me, and only read like the first five pages of the first book. She liked the movie, but didn't really get if Peeta really loved Katniss; she thought everything was just an act.

That is exactly how me and my friends felt. I've just got back from watching this film and I havent read any of the books. All the way through the Game I didnt trust Peeta one bit, even at the end with the berries.

I thought it was a good film, I even cried. I cant wait to see what happens next.

I watched the movie last night. I never read the books, but all I have to say is...laaaaaame! What a ripoff of Battle Royale, it's cool if you guys like it, but I'll take my teenage fight to the death Japanese and less emo.

I saw it this afternoon and I loved it. The only complaint I have is about the chariot ride. I didn't like that Peeta came up with the hand holding and Katniss so openly is disgusted at first. All wrong. Other than that it was really good.

I'm totally late to the party but I finally saw the film last night! I really loved it. It was never gonna be a perfect adaptation but I think they did really well with it and I really enjoyed it! Very excited for Catching Fire now. Don't want to wait! 😛

I loved the way they did it although at the start the camera was on the verge of making me motion sick 🙁
