Any fans of the movies of Hunger Games? I'm a big fan & was just wondering cause I'm re watching

I went to see the first one with my ex, and I must admit I wasn't exactly blown away, but Woody Harrelson was *amazing!* I had no idea he would be in it. I laughed so hard when he appeared on that train.

honestly the first one didn't blow me away at first, than I read the books and went back to the movies, and wow, it just blew me away, lots of good stuff when you dig a bit deeper

The 2nd is my second favourite, only because I think the original is normally always better.

I guess I'd say the rivalry between Katniss and Snow, but I also like Katniss/ Prim and Katniss/ Peeta.

I'm not into ships, but that one paragraph in the book gave me the warm fuzzies (very rare!), and it speaks to me, something my own personality can understand:

“That what I need to survive is not Gale's fire, kindled with rage and hatred. I have plenty of fire myself. What I need is the dandelion in the spring. The bright yellow that means rebirth instead of destruction. The promise that life can go on, no matter how bad our losses. That it can be good again. And only Peeta can give me that.”

Not to say I'm emotionally invested in Peeta, but I did love that line, and so I have to give it to Team Peeta. (Also, it was a nice break, if somewhat amusing to me, that it was her saving him all the time, a reverse of the typical romance in that regards.)

First. And something else...I've learned that the world is dangerous and it's doesn't help to pretend otherwise (though worrying nonstop about it is also bad). My inexperience and ignorance were a liability to me, and I don't want that for others. My time with a PTSD support group and self-defense courses where people came AFTER they were victimized reinforced that to me. So I've tried to prepare the 2 kids I help to raise in being ready for that. The boy was fine with this while the girl was resistant, and I didn't push it on her, but one day she changed her mind, and even said she wanted to learn archery (a hobby of mine, though not for self-defense), and I noticed that many more teens, including girls, were also showing up. And after seeing the movie poster featuring Peeta in her room it hit me: all the movies (such as Brave and Hunger Games, and she also got into Buffy) she loved (and she had a major crush on Peeta/Josh at the time) got her to see her own place in the world differently, and even take up an interest in archery. (It shouldn't be a surprise, I got into darkwave music and skateboarding after watching The Crow when I was 11, so I know even a single movie can shape someone's life.) I'll always appreciate the book and movie for that.

I have so much feelings about Peeta being the exact opposite of what we're used to seeing in male protagonists. The role reversal with his and Katniss was so refreshing

Its hard to remember now it's been so long since I read the books. But I think it was because I felt that Gale and Katniss had so much in common. Gale understood Katiniss. She and Gale had such a strong bond. He protected her family while she was gone. Peeta is fine too. I'm sure there is more to this I don't remember. 🙂

I never read the books so maybe it was better there but in the movies
Katniss & Peeta translated well on the screen.

I remember not being super into Gale in the movie either. But I didn't like Peeta, either. I liked Katniss in the movie though she was great. I love JLaw.

I really like all the movies haha. Usually the last one is my fav tho in long series

Although, I find Gale more attractive, I'm totally aboard the Katniss/Peeta ship
But if another option had been given, I might would be team Finnick. You could cut the sexual tension btwn him and Katniss with a knife.

That's tough. I really loved the first and second movie. I don't know how to choose lol.
I guess second, more action, more twists, more Peeta/Katniss, and we get Finnick (yay)

President Snow. I mean I didn't root for him or nothing, but I think he's a very interesting villain and I love how they fleshed him out in the movies.
Second favorite is probably Peeta or Haymitch

Team Peeta without a question. He's kind and loving, he understands her trauma, he's a good person. Like, a way better person than most people in those books. He cares about people, not just Katniss.

Tough one, it's a tie between the first and second movie.

Don't know enough about THG to answer the questions. I have seen the first two movies and I really liked both of them. Katniss is a great character.

Peeta is easily the best!
He's amazing. I don't know how anyone can not root for him & Katniss

Katniss is such a great character but I have to go with Peeta. I've come to feel very protective of him which made him my favorite character.

Definitely Peeta. He's such a sweet and interesting character. He cares about people, he's an idealist and him being turned into a weapon was the most shocking thing for me when I read the books. His story just speaks to me a lot and I love that he serves the role usually given to female characters.

Really not a fan of Gale. He pisses me of a lot. I find Katniss/Peeta's dynamic a lot more interesting, their relationship represents so much of what the series is about and I'm just really in love with the ending and the meaning behind it. That's what made me a Katniss/Peeta fan in the end.

Mockingjay part 1. I loved the way it was done and it always hits me right in the feels. Minority opinion but Mockingjay is my favorite book of the trilogy...

Ooh I love these answers. But I don't like Mockingjay part 1. Part 2 is much better imo.
Peeta wasn't in much of Part 1 too
