I have always thought it was a sad song.. and when I hear people call it a 'feel good' song I really dont understand.

Does anyone else find it sad and depressing or am I really that damaged?

Well he sings about the world. Blue skies, red roses. Pretty things. A wonderful world.

What do you find sad about it? I guess the melody is a bit sad-ish in case you don't listen to the lyrics, but not much.

It just seems all deathy and morbid to me.. to no one else it seems this?

Ah, Louis Armstrong, the greatest horn since Joshua played Jericho!

Yeah, "What A Wonderful World," is a feel good song. What my mother would call "dreamy," but definitely happy. The kind of thing that you would sing a baby to sleep with.

Oops! sorry Scobro, I thought the title of the thread was about you.

Lyrics = Positive
Music = Sad

So it gets kind of conflicted. My thoughts usually goes to how we're messing up this beautiful planet in so many ways when I hear the song. So even if it's supposed to be a feel good song, and I get that it should, it usually gets me a bit sad.

I don't find it a sad song. although I prefer to ramones faster upbeat version. 🙂

I don't see it as a morbid or sad song though, he's singing about... well happy things he's seeing/has seen. How's that at all morbid or sad?
