ok im a sucker for the old fasion Rituals and chants, but in season six as it progressed neer the end the magical spark just wasn't there. im not to keen on the way willow controled things with her power, dark so be it. like in 'Wrecked' when she says "Open!.....Drive!..." and in 'Two To Go' shes on top of the lorry steering it and moving the wheel with her mind (one assumes?) simple hand gestures just dosen't have the same effect. except for the "Abra Kadabra!" black electric oily stuff which comes out of her hands. i was happy when it returned in season 7.
 
Yea, i agree with you, but the theme was that Willow was being lazy and using magic all the time, but im glad its like that again tho. I wouldnt half mind seeing Darth Rosenberg again before it ends though!
 
Oooo me to! i love it when she freeks out when doing a spell! espesh in 'Get It Done'
 
in saying that she was the majicks, she no longer required emphatic gestures or elaborate spels tpo call forth teh power because it was already within her, all she had to do was let it worth in any way she say fit
so the lack of 'fancy' majockl was keeping in with the whole point of her transformation
 
Am I the only one, who liked her magics in season 6 better?

Hello! we ARE talking about magic here, why not with a simple hand gesture, I liked it then, I hope that after the first is gone, she'll start doing more magic and become just as powerful as Darth Rosenberg once more, but staying cute this time!

i loved when Willow went all psycho!! i hope she does again and i was actually pissed off at the gang for trying to stop her lol!! I hope she goes freaky again before the end😀
 
I liked the magics Willow did I have, I just don't like how she used them. She used them for slight personal gain. She meant by shes the magics that she didn't have to say a spell or something she could just use them I guess. But she got out of hand and i'm glad shes more careful this season.
 
Willow didn't suit it. I miss 'Season One' Willow. She is way out of control in those episodes- she even tries to kill her friends! Anya, Buffy and Dawn all get a taste of her nastiness. No way.
 
I loved the final 3 episodes of Season 6, and everything about them including the magics. They're my favourite Buffy episodes of all time.

I only have a problem with the magics when they stop making sense in relationship to the whole series.

Take Smashed for instance. Willow and Amy seem to have the power to warp reality at will to whatever they're whimming at the time. If that's the case Willow could just walk around town sending any and all evil to another dimension. They don't need Buffy. Also why would Willow need the extra magic from the dark magic books in Villians (I think it is). She already had all the magic she needed.

The same writer does the same kind of screwy stuff in Season 7 with the Killer in Me. Amy appears to have the power of God, yet she's whining about how Willow has all the power. The Kennedy kiss thing at the end was hokey too.
 
well power of god? lol thats not true she can just move things not a very big power right? and i also loved the last 3 episodes of season 6 made willow stronger and more growed up
 
I liked her magic in season 5 and 6. I did like "evil willow" but i'm glad that she didn't stay like that, I like the other cute red-haired willow better

I agree with Lily. It was symbolic of how powerful she had become. Whenever anyone has a problem with a character or something that they are going through just take a step back and look at it from a more litteral stand point. Joss is always dealing with real issues underneath it all. I think what he did with her and Buffy made total sense.
 
Willows magic in season 6 just proved how powerful she was, sure she didnt say the funny incantations and the colours wernt as pretty but this just proved she no longer needed it.
 
And with the colors and stuff it also means that she was evil
