When she put tranquilizer in her own blood and tricked Angelus, I felt like standing and applauding her. Evil or struggling on the verge of it, Faith has always been an amazing and deep character. I applaud her.

I agree when she does that its just amazing, shes awesome. I love Faith to death, and I love that she does that to save angel after all he did to save her. Those three Eps are my favorite of the season (along with Spin the Bottle) It shows just how strong Faith is, and how far she's come from who she was at the beginning of Buffy or even the last time we saw her.

Awww Katie... I love the part of your banner where they both standing next to each other. Badass!
That moment shocked me and is still one of my favorite today. I feel like Faith brought so much to the season and I agree with HirMrs it was pretty kick ass.

I agree with the above. As I watched season four, I was thinking the whole time that Connor should not of been brought in the show. Now in season five, it's as if he isn't, but I'm still not satisfied because they wasted a whole entire season and a half on that stupid ungrateful little kid! Anyway, I loved the whole Faith thing.

I felt the same. I love how she risked her life to save Angel. Faith's definitely a deep character. I'm not sure if it's her plan to let Angel drink her. I just wanna say, I love how she's smarter than she looks. ^_^

What she did in Release was really smart. She knows at some point that maybe Angelus would prove more cunning than her and would try to drink her. That's why she took the drug. That was a very smart way to catch him alive and defenseless. She risked her life to do it, but she recognises her debt to Angel. She knows he never gave up on her.

Faith is a really complex character. I mean there were times I felt like hating her, especially when she shot Angel with the arrow. I knew she had a bad past with her family and she could turn out to be much better if her family was there for her. If she had friends. That's why she wanted to take Buffy's place. She was so jealous of her acceptance by others. I didn't like her obsession to inflict pain but strangely I admire The Mayor's affection for her. The father she never had. She felt like the Scoobies were rejecting her but this is no excuse of going evil. But she had issues and I understand her. I really love the girl in season 4 of Angel. The only three episodes of that season I get to rewatch really often.

I disagree with the season 4 hate here, because that was my fav on the show, but as for the OP... I totally agree about Faith. The first time I watched Release, I really didn't see it coming, and my reaction was like, WTF??! 😕

Actually playing Angelus to fall for it, that was great... When you know he was such a smart character.

I agree that Angelus is so cunning, it takes a lot to out-smart him. Faith is really not given credit for how smart she is up until this storyarc. I don't know if it's a Faith thing or a Slayer thing (the quick/innovative thinking), but it's awesome!

This is one of my favorite buffy-verse episodes. I think Angelus is amazingly smart and Faith just won him! She is awesome on Angel S4.

I just like that the few eps of season 4 proved that Faith isnt just "the other slayer" shes quick, smart, tough and soooo not a complainer like some other slayers that shall remain nameless lol 😛

Faith has some serious balls in that ep. Buffy wouldn't have been so selfless. Gotta love Faith.

Buffy wouldn't have been so selfless.

Actually, I'd say there's a pretty strong parallel between what Faith does in this episode for Angel, and what Buffy does in "Killed by Death," in order to see/fight Der Kindestod.

In short, they are both fantastic. 🙂

It was a memorable moment for her character.

I like how Faith's development as a character was always linked with Angel, whether in BTVS season 3 or on his own show. It's amazing how far she's come along since her introduction.
