I could never be with someone who's bossy and stubborn (because I am bossy and stubborn, and it just wouldn't work out).

The OP pretty much covered it for me. I could never be with someone who has no sense of humor, or someone who didn't love animals.

The other stuff - someone who enjoys killing, etc., kind of goes without saying.

I could never be with someone who is just like me we would clash a lot.

I could never be with someone who doesn't respect me and accept me for who I am. I'm not asking for understanding, (kinda impossible 😛) only acceptance.

I could never be with someone that doesn't value the important things, like love, loyalty, integrity and Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

I could never be with someone who doesn't realize that family comes first.

I could never be with someone who I can't converse with.

I could never be with someone who is racist, prejudiced, bigoted, homophobic, ect.

Not too much to ask, it it? 😛

If you at one point get attracted or even fall in love with someone you usually see past everything in them you normally see as bad. A list for "I couldn't be with someone too long if..." could on the other hand be very, very long. Most of the things based on, what I consider, common sense.

As for "not liking this and that music/movie/show" I'd be sad about it, but as long as they don't belittle what I love and let me enjoy it I don't see why that would be such a big problem. I'd definitely try and make them change their mind though. 😉

I'm a vegetarian and I wouldn't make my person be one. They can eat a stake in front of me and I'm fine. As long as I don't have to eat it or make it. Not saying I want to date you. Because ew, you're like a sister to me, but I'd just like to say that not all vegetarians and vegans are like that.

I too am a vegitarian and I'd never tell other people what food to eat infront of me. I'd also never force or pressurise any children I may have to be vegetarian either; while I'd never cook any meat myself it would their choice.

Completely agree; I think people have the potential to see past way more than they imagine they could.

Same here. I have a long list of things I hope to have in common with a significant other, but if we don't I doubt those things would be a deal breaker if it were someone I truly care about.

Plus, when you have deep feeling for someone I think its totally natural to take some interest in the things they enjoy. I would totally introduce something I love to a significant other in hopes that they would come to enjoy it in the same way I do.

I'm easygoing! If I like someone, I can look past their faults... And lecture them. 😉

However, I'd REALLY prefer them to NOT be drug users. Includes smoking, alcohol consumption, and all illegal drugs.

Of course, it just so happens that I'm fairly particular with people that I like, so the list is pretty long. 😉 Overall, I like funny people. So they must be funny!

I could never be with someone who wasn't a friend- I've never felt the slightest urge to be with someone who I haven't already hung out with and established a friendship with.

I could never be with someone who wasn't intelligent- not neccessarily academically, but a sharp mind who I can hold an interesting conversation with.

I could never be with someone who let me walk all over them- yes, arguments might ensue, but I'd sure as hell want someone who would stand up to me or tell me I was wrong when neccessary.

I could never be with someone who cheated- how do you come back from that? How do you trust that you won't be cheated on again?

I could never be with someone who has a problem with me being cuddly and friendly with my friends, including those who are of the opposite gender- don't get me wrong, I can see why someone might not like this, and I don't think it makes them a bad person or anything, but I am huggly with my friends, so if someone I was with had a problem with this, then that would just cause anger and awkwardness.

I could never be with someone who doesn't have their own hobbies, or can't spend time apart- I'll be honest, sometimes I'm a bit of a loner, and like to sit by myself, reading, or going on forums, playing videogames, etc. Someone who also has stuff they do on their own, I find good- we don't have to spend all our time together, we still have separate interests.

Luckily, I have an awesome boyfriend who fulfills all these criteria ^^
