I could never be with..

I would never date someone that dumps me via text. Found that out today.

bad bit is you never find out about that particularly propensity until its too late.
I could never be with someone who lets me have my way all the time, or someone who needs me too much... I'm just totally incapable of getting into a relationship where I am the strong one. Maybe it's a bad trait, but...

Or someone who wants to buy me everything. It's like, dude/girl, you can't buy my affection.

yeah, completely agree with the buying thing. i would be kinda annoyed if that happened

totally agree.
I could never be with someone who:
-is racist or homophobic
- doesn't except my buffy obsession
- is too clingy
- never listens
and i think that's basically it
I also have a thing about clever guys, who have really interesting things to say, so I don't think I could be with someone who isn't like that. It would be nice if they shared my buffy obsession aswell 🙂

I could say that to make a list would be pointless, because if we really care about a person, some things we dislike about them might not matter.

But honestly, if they were a hateful person towards anything, I'd have a problem.
And that's probably it.

Oh boy, lets see...

* A racist
* A homophobe
* Someone abusive
* Someone religious
* A smoker
* A cat hater
* Someone too loud, crude, annoying or callous
* Someone rather uneducated or rude

Having said that, I've dated people who have turned out to be everything on that list...

This is an interesting thread. Okay, I'll play. 😀

I am engage to the sweetest guy ever, but if I were single, I would never go for someone who is the following:

*Ungrateful
*Lazy
*Violent
*Nasty
*Volatile
*Unstable
*Bad with money
*Destrucive, physically and emotionally
*Short tempered
*Doesn't care in general
*Argumentative
*Has no spine
*Racist
*Sexist
*Homphobic
*Is afraid to have a different opinion
*Is cruel to animals or who thinks that there is nothing wrong with it
*Doesn't take pride in their appearance
*Thinks that my opinion doesn't matter

I could never be with a boy... lol. Unless he was Spike or someone on my "straight" list.

I could never be with someone abusive

I could never be with someone who pressured me into things I didn't want to do.

I'm currently in a beautiful relationship, and I picked him by realising he was none of these:

- A racist
- A homophobe
- A sexist
- Someone closed-minded
- Someone lazy
- Someone arrogant
- A nerd-hater!!
- Someone who doesn't appreciate what they have
- Someone who doesn't enjoy shows where a vampire slayer kicks butt 😛
- Someone abusive to animals
- Someone abusive towards me and/or others. Physically or mentally.
- Someone with no sense of humour
- Someone who argues a lot

Overall, someone who doesn't appreciate me in any way, shape or form. Luckily I found someone quite the opposite!

mayfever agrees: there's people who still go to "discos"?

Unfortunately, in my town , it's all the rage...always. They go dancing and drinking.

haha I just meant the word "disco". Haven't heard that since the 90's ;)
I saw that many of you have said they couldn't be with someone who doesn't love Buffy... which I find a bit weird (no offence, just the way I see it) - obviously I wouldn't have a problem dating someone who already loves Buffy, but I wouldn't want my person to become an obsessive fan just because I am one. I had this before - I'm a huge Werder Bremen fan (the football team) and my ex wasn't much into football at all (he'd watch the world cup, but that was it), but then he started watching it with me and got really into it after a while. I was happy enough at first, but after a while it just got annoying, because he even joined my fanclub and now (6 years after we broke up) he pretends he's always been a fan. It was MY thing, and after the breakup I had to leave the fanclub because he wouldn't.

I think what I'm trying to say is that Buffy is my thing and I wouldn't want my partner to get obsessive and join the BB and infiltrate my online life and then break up with me and refuse to go 😉

Anyway, my list isn't that long. Basically, I couldn't be with

- someone who doesn't accept me the way I am and tries to change me
- a smoker (or druggy of any kind)
- a racist/sexist/homophobe (but I wouldn't want to be friends with such a person either)
- someone who isn't their own person
- someone with no sense of humour.

That's it 🙂

As far as I'm concerned, the Buffy thing is mostly "I couldn't be with someone who doesn't respect my passion" :D

Ahahahah..sorry, I should've used clubs..but that was the first word that came to mind. LOL

I've given this some thought- it's difficult for me, because I can't truly unwind unless I have a lot of time and space for myself. But here goes:

-somebody foul-mouthed
-somebody whose energy levels and up/down times are incompatible with mine
-somebody narrow minded about other countries and cultures
-somebody who isn't interested in finding out new things
-somebody who doesn't respect wildlife and the natural world
-somebody who doesn't understand that sometimes I need somebody to draw me out if something isn't right

Just thought of a couple others:

- I couldn't be with someone who was too down-to-earth

- I couldn't be with someone who mocked me as a person(mocking my actions is okay, though, I'm not too picky)

- I couldn't be with someone who didn't understand why I spent so much time on the internet, especially BB.

- I couldn't be with someone who was just using me to try and test their sexual preference.

- I couldn't be with someone who wouldn't dance with me.

Heres another:
I could never be with someone who snores. (Sorry, I like my sleep.)

Huh. Understandable in theory, but you normally don't find out about that particular habit until it's too late... unless you quiz people on the first date, lol.

My ex was one of the most terrible snorers I have ever met, and I have regularly spent nights entertaining fantasies of slowly torturing him to death for it, but I would never have dumped him over something trivial like that. Wearing earplugs usually did the trick, and if it didn't I'd move to the couch (or make him move). All manageable.

I have a hard time dating Republicans. We just disagree on basically every fundamental belief I hold.
Also on my list of deal-breakers are homophobic, racist, unemployed, and sexist men.
