...and I totally do NOT get why people love it so much. I love NPH, and I love Nathan Fillion, but I just cannot get on board this thing. LOL

It took me a couple of watches to really like it. It came across as a bit cringeworthy the first time, but I think that was just the whole awkward tone that I didn't quite get straight away. This is the thing that made me love NPH though.

Could you elaborate?

Anyway, I had a big fat grin on my face the whole time when I first watched it. I probably should watch it again soon, lol.

The first time I watched it, I only watched the first part and stopped. I didn't get why everyone loved it either. :/ I wasn't a Whedonverse fan yet at the time so I feel like I didn't know what to look for, I guess? I kinda just took all the clever things and quirks in Dr. Horrible for granted. Watching again after becoming familiar with the actors and Whedon's style of writing, I totally enjoyed it more. The fangirls are hilarious, the whole thing's cheesy but really cleverly self-aware at the same time (when before, I thought it was just plain cheesy), and of course, Nathan Fillion, NPH, and Felicia Day. Trifecta of awesome. And knowing the backstory and intent behind it made me appreciate it more too. Written and produced during the writer's strike, and the three Whedon brothers and Maurissa Tancharoen, etc. It's kinda rebel-y. 😀

I do wish Penny had been better developed or something though...she kinda felt like a Woman in a Refrigerator to me.

I am not a big fan of Felicia Day, so I wasn't really INTO it, I guess, the same way with Gwyneth Paltrow's appearance on "Glee". I tried really hard to like it, and the songs were pretty cute, but overall I thought it was HIGHLY overrated.

Your logic does not resemble our Earth logic! 😛

Personally, I watched it and became immediately obsessed. I bought the album and then the soundtrack. And then played them out until my sister demanded that I not play it anymore.

So yeah, I come down on the side of Dr. Horrible.

Whaaat?? "pretty cute" ... not down with the doc... I must agree with Kean (yeah that never happens 😉) but your logic is not of this Earth!

Sad though, but then hearing so much about it might've pushed up your expectations?
Mystery... ;P

Maybe... I'm not sure. I just didn't like it that much.
I loved it! I should say love, because I still do. I know I only seen it once and I don't have the soundtrack or anything.😀 Like I probably SHOULD. But I enjoyed watching it.

That's a shame, Britt, but to each his/her own. We can't all like the same thing. That'd be insane! Like a Jasmine world where everyone's super happy, weirdly happy, and everyone has the same opinion. It'd be really irritating and incredibly boring. 😀

I get where you're coming from. The first time I watched it I only watched the first half of the first act. I thought it was kinda random. I didn't watch the rest until quite a few months later. Toby convinced me it was worth watching. Then I bought it and became obsessed with the songs one by one. I enjoy it more every time I watch it.

At least you gave it a chance. Can't ask for more. And a lot of us talking about our love for it probably didn't help. When I watched it for the first time I had no idea what it was going to be but it had me by the first scene. But the love grew the more I watched it.

What's the difference between the album and the soundtrack? I feel that I'm missing something.

Also. Still annoyed that they don't have the commentary on cd. Hey, I'm old fashioned ok.

I Watched It A Few Weeks Ago, It Was Okay. But After A While It Got Kinda Boring.

I saw it recently and I sort of liked it, I would have loved it if it hadn't been a musical thing because the songs weren't so good and that made it kinda boring..

It is a sad day for planet earth when I agree with Kean....it means the world is going to end 😉

Were people telling you to watch it? I always find that when people say "you have to watch this you have to watch it" it puts my back up and I automatically don't like it.

The album is all the songs featured in the actual sing-a-long blog. The soundtrack are all new songs singing about making the sing-a-long blog.

It sounds terrible but it's actually fantastic. Highpoints include Zach's rap song, Mo's No one's Asian in the Movies, Neil's Ten Dollar Solo and Joss's Heart, Broken.

So they are released on cd? That I got to have. Only knew that the songs were available for download. Or maybe that's what you meant, that you downloaded them? And I love, love the commentary songs.

I had a lot of people telling me I just HAD to watch it, including some friends who are not on this board. I love NPH and I love Nathan Fillion, so I decided to watch it and I was really disappointed. I thought I was gonna love it as much as OMWF, but I didn't, sadly. 🙁
