In episode 17 "The Lies My Parents Told Me".Giles is trying to
distract Buffy from Spike. Then he WANTS SPIKE KILLED AND IS
HELPING WOOD KILL HIM!!!How could he do such a thing too poor
Spike? He's just jelous that Buffy loves spike!!

GRRR ARRGH!

How could he do such a thing, I understand why Wood would want to, but why Giles, maybe the First needs a souled vamp for his plans (just like in "Amends") and that would be why Giles wants him dead ... he would have had no problem with killing Dawn, once the ritual had started (the Gift)!

I was v. mad when I heard this news, too! Grr. But I like Giles, so I'm conflicted. But Spiiike. He's my favourite, so if I have to, I guess I'll be mad at Giles..

giles haas always shown himself to work for the greater good, not just the good of the group or a specific individual
while he might have 'a fathers love for the girl' he still has a cause to fight for and a world to help protect
and h'll do waht it takes
even if its a hard choice (Ben/Glory)

Okay, to quote Faith from "Revelations,"

"You're confused, Twinkie. Let me clear you up. (points to Spike) Vampire. (points at herself) Slayer. (points at
Spike again) Dead vampire."

Any questions?? Comments?? Concerns??

Besides he was getting annoying with his soul and everything. Good lord, I can stand a whole hour of Angel, but Spike has just turned into a nancy boy by the tenth power...

i know i almost cried when i thought spike was going to die and when sarah leaves i heard giles goes back to Englad and comes up with his own show of a new slayer or something like that

I like Spike, however, I agreed with Giles. The First was using Spike to do his bidding. I know it was against Spike's will, but that was the fact. They also had forewarning that The First was going to use Spike again, probably on the scoobies and SITs. The trigger was still active. I know Giles has never really liked Spike, but I don't think he wanted to kill him on the account that he knew Buffy cared for him so much, but he felt that he had to. When it comes to the greater good, like choosing to save the entire world by sacrificing one or saving the one and sacrificing the world (with that one in it I might add), Buffy's mind is too clouded. She can't let go, which is understandable. She already sacrificed Angel once. To do that again with someone else would be too emotionally difficult. Giles on the other hand can see past that and make that difficult decision. Although they are very unpopular decisions, they sometimes are the right ones. Luckily, killing Spike nor Dawn (The Gift) was necessary and they are both still alive (or undead).

Poor man

I think that Giles is just trying to protect everyone. There is a large chance the first may use spike to kill and destroy. Giles is like the father of the group.
God he is lovely, but tony has a wierd giggle thing i heard several times at the convention at the paragon hotel in june last year. Did anyone else go????

Giles Is the Man come on he can sing and fight and make fun of Xander all the same time hehehehe

GO ANTHONY HEAD

I wasnt mad a Giles as he was helping Wood if your mum got mudered and you knew who it was wouldnt you go after them?..no matter what? Giles has never liked Spike and I dont thing that he just gonna like him just because he has a soul and because Buffy says so.

i was mad at Giles at first, but he must have really thought what he was doing was the right thing I don't think he did it cause he was jealous, i think he was trying to protect buffy and everyone else. The First was using Spike and Giles thought that he could really be a danger.
But spike wasn't killed so it's ok now....

I love your banner...
I wasn't mad at Giles at all. Giles just did what he thought was right, which is usually the right thing, because Giles seems to be the only one of the group who is able to keep a level head in any situation (apart from Passion).

I think Buffy was wrong to stop Wood, she shouldn't take the side of a Vampire who is more than able to defend himself rather than the side of human who has every right to want Spike dead. She made a big mistake there, I thought.
