I Hate Xander!!

Don't bring up that moment! It's the one moment where I absolutely LOVE Xander. Such a nice, selfless thing to do for Cordelia. I wish they had have given him more moments like that! And less lame jokes!

LOL I HAD to bring up that moment, or else people would keep focusing on the negative and keep hating. And I'm all about the Xander LOVE, so... 😉
He had a lot of great moments people tend to forget about. Most of them are speeches; they gave him some of the best! Aside from the prom dress thing in s3, some of my favorite Xander moments are:
*Xander bluffing his way into saving the world in "The Zeppo"
*his talk with Buffy to get her confidence back up in "The Freshmen"
*his speech to Buffy about Riley in "Into The Woods"
*his speech to Anya at the end of "Into The Woods"
*his famous yellow crayon speech to Willow in "Grave" 😀
*his speech to Dawn in "Potential"

And who can help from feeling sorry for him when he got his eye poked out by Caleb?? And even though people hate him for it, he was tricked into believing an alternate reality and walked away from Anya to save her from what he thought would be a lifetime of pain. Awww. I love my Xan-Man!

Nope. None of those other moments do it for me. But I like that you persist :)

I lvoe his yellow crayon speech. And i think yc does too......just a thoery
Ok I was a bit harsh to Xander. But he stills annoys the heck out of me. I did go "aw" when he bought the dress for Cordy and they did make peace at the end of season 3. But you have to admit, he can be cruel.

But you have to admit, he can be cruel.

But is Xander the only character who says cruel things? He's just like Cordelia, Spike, and Anya. There's a reason behind his use of sarcasm; hiding the insecure person inside. I think his upbringing helped in shaping him into this angry bitter kid, he learned to yell his point across from his parents, but unlike them he matured as he grew up. In S7, he was one of the calmest characters around.

ooo, your in a world of pain 😉
but really, the reason he was mean to cordy was because she dishes 10x worse to everyone else...
Josh wrote Xander as himself, so you all are saying you'd hate josh in rl!
plus xander makes bad jokes most of the time cuz he's nervous, in danger, etc

OMG this is the best analyzation I've seen of Xander yet!!

Well Cordy never mentioned him in Angel so i'm guessing she made dissapear in her mind 😉

I hate Xander whenever he confronts Buffy!

I WAS always waiting for Cordelia to mention something about Xander, but I don't think anything ever came up. And I disagree with you on "I hate him when he confronts Buffy!" I personally love it, because he really does care for her and knows she is strong, but he also knows her limits, too. Buffy sometimes can think she can do anything just because she is the Slayer, and that gets her into some bad situations. So I think it's nice to atleast try and stop Buffy from doing something that might get her hurt.

So, I am a Xander lover, no matter what. He might make mistakes, but he's only human. XANYA ALL THE WAY!!!

Agreed. Very good analyzation.

I love him just, he WAS mean to Cordy but Cordy was way meaner. In fact I sorta think they were a perfect match.

Disagreed. ANYA+XANDER=PERFECT.

I'm pretty sure Cordy mentions Xander once in Angel. This isn't word for word, but there was a moment when she was falling for Doyle where she says something like, "I swore after Xander Harris I'd never be with another loser." It was something like that.

That's right she did... I always wished they would have brought Xander over to "Angel"... It would have been interesting to have a Xandelia face off. Especially since she was so luscious and he was so muscular and hot after S3😉

Xander was unsung. He's the only one of any incarnation of the group that never had any superpowers and yet, he stuck by their side and fought the good fight. He was the character that told people that you don't have to have powers to be a hero. I actually think that sometimes he was written a little too corny but after all is said and done, he deserves any positive accolades he gets.

I wish I could agree more than once....
I don't hate Xander, but since I love Cordy/Xander, I am mad at him for cheating on her. She gave up alot of things for him like popularity and friends that she had since like pre-school, and for him to just do that was pretty mean. Also, she was hurt alot when she found out about Xander's little affair with Willow.

I don't hate Xander for the way he treated Cordy. They were still kids then, although he was a tad more immature than the others, that's how some kids act. I'm actually surprised how many people hate him.

This thread is kinda ironic. It's basically asking if Cordelia is "more sinned against than sinning".

*crickets*

Ok the Shakespeare nerd is moving swiftly along...

Xander betrayed Cordelia, they were in a realtionship and they meant something to each other. I think that is why his cheating on her can be seen as a greater crime than anything she did to him. All the times she insulted him before they were involved it didn't pack that emotional punch because well, there wasn't any emotion behind it. However, she was incredibly cruel to him for years on end. I don't think all the wrongs make anything about what they did to each other right but I don't hate Xander for what how he treated Cordy anymore than I hate Cordy for how she treated him.

I always liked Xander. I can relate to him in a lot of ways. For some reason I always wanted him and Willow to get together.

Cheating is bad, but I don't think that makes Xander a bad person (I mean, Fred and Wesley kissed while Fred was still with Gun, but no one hates her for it.)

It's just a lapse of judgement, getting caught up in the moment -- a mistake. It happens, and Xander was young. He was sincerely sorry, and I think he makes up for it by buying Cordelia the prom dress, sort of like a "hey, I'm sorry and there's nothing I can really do but this." It showed that he still cared.

That being said, I really disliked Xander in the early seasons, but only because I thought he was cheesy and annoying. I started to really like him when he was with Anya. Their dynamic was brilliant and they remain one of my favorite couples of the series.
