I hated Soulful Spike

So, did I... I'm all in favour of Love, Peace, and hugging the trees 😉

Anyway, I do get ur annoyance with Spike a bit... in early s7, he wasn't as funny as he used to be, but I think it wasn't a long dragged out period of whinning like Bangel was (that was crying pretty much all the way through.) (I'm afraid this is gonna cost me some precious Karma 😛 )

Honey, have you ever tried meditating to calm your mind? :happy56:
You seem very angry!

There was a reason and a purpose to giving Spike his soul. It was something he desired, becase he wanted to change. This is what you really want to see in 'character development': the willingness to change for the better.

Of course, everyone will still miss kickbutt Spike, but you got to roll with the punches!

Spike was able to kick butt even after he became ensouled. I think that episodes like "Get It Done", "Lies My Parents Told Me", "Chosen", "Hellbound", "Destiny" and "Not Fade Away" proved that.

There is nothing wrong with what you belive, but I thought it was great that it happened! Spike was better like that, in my opinion.

Soulful, chipped, in love with Buffy, tried-to-rape-Buffy-but-when-failed-fought-for- his-soul Spike. Kinda all seemed foul to me. I liked, no, LOVED Spike in Season 2 primarily because of his relation with Drusilla and his relation with Angelus which had a slashy undertone in it.

Spike is awesome, soul or no soul.

Granted, I will admit with being a tad annoyed with the insaneness for the first half of the season, but when Buffy kicked his ass in gear, I felt like I had my Spike back. And I kinda the craziness, because they went about it in such a different way than they did Angel - instead of brood, he was crazy. it was kind of neat.

I agree... I am glad Spike got his soul back... it made him a better person and he was finally happy.. like he was treated with respect as any human would and i think that was really good for him... i love spike from s1-s7.. he rocks :winking11

hmmm I only liked spike from seasons 2 of Buffy to 5 of Angel mostly because he wasn't in season one 😉

Ok so if someone else said this I am so sorry. Spike did not want his soul. He wanted his chip gone. the demon that gave him his soul back played spike like a doll. He said to return him to his original self, spike said YES, but spike meant before the chip, after being sired. Opps, Spikes bad for getting confused. But I love Spike either way. He is so sweet.

I think he said something like: Make me what i was so I can give her what she deserves.

He could have killed her at ANY time during season 6 so why would it matter if he had a chip or not? He meant he wanted to be soul'd and a man again. Joss has even said this, I think.

Yep, that's right. Spike DID want his soul, that's why he went to Africa. To fight for it. His soul wasn't some trick that the demon pulled or anything.
