First of all, why did they wait till AFTER the were in the HM to try & make the girls slayers?!?!?!
I mean, come on, if I am going to war I ant waiting till I get there to see if my gun works! Know what I am saying!!! They could of had W try & do it that morning. If it didn't ok, lets try something else.

Weapons:
Ok why would u go down there with just a stake? I mean come on, give me a battle ax, a few knives (big ones), and anything else I could carry. ALL the times we see Buff open her weapons chest & there are 5 or 6 swards & ax's & all that. I think I saw like 1 knife and bunch of stakes. I would of though that at least Wood would of had more to share out. I know most of the non-slayers had swords. So that would of been like 6 of them. I mean come on u could of had Holly water in a bunch of super soakers (water guns) or something. Roll up there with a bunch of the 5 Gallon (blessed to make them Holly) water jugs, the ones u put on top of the water coolers, then put them at the edge & cut the tops open. Let them pore down on the uber-vamps. Would of made it a lot harder to clime up the cliff that's for sure.

Armor:
Ok nobody had ANYTHING..... Not even a chest protector. I never understood that. I mean Wood had his own stuff, so why wouldn't any one else. That always bugged me about the show. Even Xan never had anything, he just got the crap kicked out of him & was like a distraction for the rest while B did all the work.

Did you ever notice they make a bit of a deal about Willow being situated in the principal's office directly above the Hellmouth. I always thought this suggested there was an arrangement of the pieces issue between the scythe and the slayer, or slayer's the chosen line passed through.

Speaking of weapons, did we all forget Buffy has a rocket launcher?

There used to be this fun thread here that asked the question if you were general of the final battle, how would you strategize it out. Like what would your battle plan be?

This is what I thought too...that being situated over the Hellmouth helped 'activate' the power of the scythe (remember the 'humming' they always refer to...kinda like a machine in 'sleep' mode...)

LOL oh yeah where IS that rocket launcher??

It always seemed sort of stupid to me that Buffy would take her few dozen fighters down into the hell mouth to face an army of what she knew in advance consisted of hundreds if not thousands of uber vamps, while a second army of Bringers attacking from the rear.

The weapons thing also seems sort of lame. If there were not enough traditional weapons (I would never consider a wooden stake as appropriate in this condition, especially knowing that the vamps were super hard to stake.) local sporting goods and military surplus stores, which were no doubt as unattended as the grocery stores and hospital) could furnish machetes and axes at least, and Xander's construction site could've probably supplied a few sticks of dynamite. Then there are Molotov cocktails...

The only reason that I could think of as to why these and a dozen other options weren't explored is that either the writers didn't think of it or ignored it, or Joss simply wanted to do it his way for dramatic effect. Take your pick.

High Heels! buffy wore high heels into the final battle!
"I mean, honestly, what kind of retard wears heels like that in a dark alley (umm, I mean hellmouth)? Take 2 steps, break your bloody ankle."

If you look carefully, you will notice that Sara ALWAYS wore high heels. I can only think of three exceptions: in the training scene in "Once More With Feeling," in the basement in "Chosen," when she talked to the First as Caleb, and when the gang went to the beach with Riley.

Actually, in Chosen, she was barefoot, having just gotten out of Spke's bed.

in 'chosen'? so she wears NON-high-heels, and CHANGES to heels for the battle? interesting... :)
haha very good point. It did seem like the rushed in. Mosty just worried about taking them all out sooner rather then later. Doesnt have to mean slopy though 🙂

Actually, it was said earlier on in the season, I believe, that Holy water didn't work on upervamps.

Been a while since I watched it, but I was under the impression that although the Holy Water worked on them, it would need absolute bucket loads to be of any effect.

Squirt with a tiny spray, pointless. Drop a UV in a bath full, priceless.

A flamethrower or two wouldn't have been out of order. And I do wonder what happened to Buffy's rocket launcher, too.

I always wondered why they didn't just blow the top off the Hellmouth, thereby letting the sunlight in? Would have been the same principle Spike employed with his amulet, but on a larger scale....like all at once...instead of Spike's sweeping back and forth.

Actually, some of them did have axes. When Buffy gets up and kills that Uber-Vamp (the really cool scythe swinging part) you can see an Asian girl in the background in the air with an axe, right? And then later another girl has one (I think she was in a blue sweater) and she was like totally making Julienne Ubervamp.

And yes...ROCKET LAUNCHER? Would have come in handy, no?

But you guys are all super-strong, right?

KENNEDY
(scoffs) Um...no.

Right. OK. Um... but still, heart information, still good to know since holy water seems to run off these guys like they've been scotch-guarded.
So, this appears to me as if the holy water didnt work on them at all.

It didn't affect them much BUT there was some light smokage.
Smoke means there was a reaction. Their hide is far stronger than that of regular vamps SO the amount a Slayer/scoobie/potential would have to carry would be more than feasibly possible in a battle situation making it a useless, ineffective weapon...but it still works with the right amounts.

I was actually a it disappointed with this episode. Buffy had always been the Chosen One. She was special, unique. But then they turned all the potentials into Slayers & Now it's like she's nothing. She's a nobody. She's no one special anymore. It's really depressing!!! My best friend Olivia loves Buffy too & she feels the same. Anyone else?

The thing about the end of the series that always got me (other than the Spike crispifying, of course, even though we all knew by that point that he would be back on "Angel" the next season) was that little smile in the combined Scooby and Slayerettes(I LOVE that name!) are asking Buffy what she's going to do now that it's all over. I've heard a thousand opinions as to just what that little smile meant, but I always felt deep down that that was Buffy's way of saying, "You haven't seen nothin' yet."
