I am getting ready to just sit down, and man up, and get my dvd boxset of Buffy ordered and watch s01 completely, in 1 go.

I have seen most of season 1, but honestly can't remember a thing. And it's horrible. Because I want to like it. And I think I do. It just was on TV every so often and I never bothered to look through the episode list to make sense of it.

There are a few dutch sites offering it cheap, so .. here we go!

Have some buying it karma lol ;)

S1 is my least favorite. I barely made it through.
Have fun!! BtVS is one of the best TV shows of all-time. And not just in my opinion... You'll see when you watch. 🙂
I will tell you, though, that it might take a little bit to get attached to the characters. The first season was made without knowledge of whether or not they were gonna get a second season or not, so there are a lot of stand-alone (not so great) eps, but the characters make it worth watching. And it DEFINITELY gets better in Season 2!! 🙂

I got my dutch sites bookmarked, and put everything on my watch list. I will go through the email later where it will tell me in an overview which site has it, in stock, and at what price. 🙂

My ISP provider offers s01 via on-demand, I just started it so it's on the DVR 🙂 Going to start watching s01, e01 tonight or tomorrow, depending on how long I can wait.

I agree with what's been said already. Buffy for me is one of the greatest television shows of all time, i'am sure you'll soon see that. Season 2 and 3 are probably the pick of the bunch.

an excellent way to spend your time if I may say so 😀

S1 is wildly hit-and-miss. Call it 'growing pains', call it part of the charm... but there are episodes that'll make you bang your head against the wall mixed in with episodes that have elements of everything that makes BtVS great.

I love Season 1. It's adorable and delightfully campy. I love all the one-liners and the Monster of the Week thing.

The Pack is my favorite episode from the first season.

Correction: Buffy is the greatest show ever made. 😉

Yeah, Season 3 is probably universally agreed upon as the best season, although it's not my personal favorite.

You cannot start without watching season 1! The episodes are not masterpieces but I love the humorous atmosphere and it's fun to see everyone getting into their characters.

Season 1 is some great stuff! While it might not be the best season of Buffy, I definitely believe that it was the most important. It was under some pretty intense scrutiny from the WB and 20th Century Fox and if it didn't deliver within a very short time, there would be no BtVS.

While a lot of people aren't particularly big fans of all the monster-o-the-week episodes, I personally love 'em! The whole atmosphere of the show was a lot more light-hearted and optimistic back then. It's just so much fun to watch young Buffy and the scoobies fight witches with bubbling cauldrons and crazed hyena spirits!

Ready to roll

Okay, I got my buffy-box and my popcorn and a comfy couch and made some free time.

So if I disappear from the net for a week, or 7 .. then it's because I am watching buffy s01, e01 until s07 episode what? 22?

Found a cheap box set

Angel boxset ordered, let's hope the guy delivers it within a week.

I can't wait to finish watching buffy and then move on to Angel. before watching firefly and dollhouse again.

Maybe this winter I will watch Alias and a few other series.

No, savor the first time you watch each show!

Also, make sure you watch Buffy and Angel as they're intended to be watched - as they aired, in crossover. If you need the list, I can PM it to you.

I wish I could watch them all for the first time again...

Good advice, I wish I had watched both series as they aired first time around. Looking forward to watching the two series simeltaneously over the summer, when my exams have finished. Probably using this thread BtVS/AtS Episode Guide as a guide.
