Hey, so this would be my only form of social media in like three years. I just want to talk about Buffy. I added my two cents in on my first post and wham! Like thirty people practically calling me uneducated and calling my fan card into question. I've been watching the show literally since I was three years old, since it first aired. I'm the Buffyverse authority in my community, even when I meet new people who are fans. So I guess I need someone to show me how this site actually works, like what buttons to push for what and what acronyms stand for which episode so I don't make myself look dumb. I think I can handle the opinions and analysations on my own. It's a TV show. It's subjective.

Hey, don't feel bad. When I first joined I was pissing a lot of people off...on purpose. Mainly because I took EVERYTHING personally. Plus, I got banned. Twice. 😨 But after you're here awhile, you'll relax a bit and realise that people are just passionate about their views. Sometimes, things feel more intense than they actually are. Believe it or not, the board has quieted down a lot since the shipper wars of 2013 where the Bangels and Spuffies were fighting each other. It has become more civilized since then but you still get some people who have to be warned about ad hominem attacks. I have never quite gotten the need for people to convince other people of the correctness of their views about fictional characters and the need for in-Buffyverse excuses for plot holes and writing errors. Do not take it personally - we have some very scrappy people who are desperate to have you believe exactly what they do, just like many of the religions of the world.
