I have this curse where I start to like a character because a lot of the fans hate them/trash them. I've started to love Riley because of that, same goes for Kennedy, Dawn as well, and pretty soon I'll love Andrew because of the fan-hate.

When I see so much hate for a character, I begin to point out the good qualities of the character to their haters. For example, Kennedy. She's the most courageous member of the potentials, she knows what she wants and tries to get it, she doesn't take shit from anyone, she's proud of her sexuality and so open about being into women, she's aware that she has the right to voice her opinion and she does it, she's a natural leader, she's not afraid to stand up for the ones she loves... all those are amazing qualities.

I think Kennedy is a great change for Willow. Willow always went for the sweet type... Kennedy is nothing like Oz and Tara. She's outspoken, bad-girl type, a little spoiled, and younger than Willow. I'd love to have a story focused on them in S8.
 
I don't hate Andrew like I used to... I'm starting to like him, S8 helps a lot in that department. 🙂
 
I never hate any characters. Riley, Dawn, Connor or Andrew. Never hate them a bit. 🙂

The only reason I like Kennedy is, she'll always be there for Willow. And she really loves Willow. Enough said. 🙂

I don't hate characters, either. They all have their redeeming qualities.
I always loved Andrew! And not only because of Tom Lenk...for other reasons too....that I am not aware of yet.
Well I mean, he was funny! And I thought he was great in the finale, no matter how silly he was with the trio.
I really hated Kennedy for a while. Than I read "Queen of the Slayers" and slowly started to like her. At the moment, I'm on the fence with her.
I liked Riley too. Not the initiative, but Riley. I thought he was a cutie 'till he got all funky with the vampire girls.
 
I just think that the main reason fans dislike her is that they consider her a poor replacement to Tara and that she doesn't agree with Buffy's decisions.

To be honest, I rather see Willow move on in S7 with the help of Xander or Dawn -the show is focused too much on romantic relationships, I miss the old days when friendship was a big element in the show. So, I wish we didn't get Willow/Kennedy until S8.

As for her as a character, I really liked her, she was unique and speaks her mind. You can easily tell her apart from the other nameless slayers. Even Vi and Amanda, who fans loved, didn't have much of a personality. Kennedy had plenty.
 
I do agree that the general Kennedy hate that seems very common feels a bit exaggerated.

Kennedy actually has many great qualities as already pointed out.
The reason for annoyance is more due to the way she gets in the way for the real scoobies to be together alone as the close group they once were.
Calling other potentials maggots doesn't help her case either imho.

Still, she was one of potentials that didn't complain all the time while Buffy did her best to save their life. That I appreciate.

i've always loved Andrew, and i use to dislike Riley, but infact i've grown to really like him.

Dawn not so much, she's not too bad, 😛



Kennedy is good for willow, she brings a bit of fun into her life at the time.
 
At first I didn't mind Kennedy. But then she became a "brat", as she told Willow. In general, I was most annoyed with her because the writers seemed to want to give her and the other Potentials too much screentime over the REAL Scoobies, and I was pissed off.
Kennedy isn't horrible. I loved how she wanted so hard to make Willow see the good in herself again. But I thought it was just too soon for Willow to be put back into a relationship and didn't like that. And Kennedy's bossiness, especially when it came to trying to step up alongside Buffy and Faith as if she were the leader was annoying to me, too.
 
Ugh, Kennedy is such a bratt. I hate her little outburts and she seems to crave attention.
Never liked her, sorry.
 
I like Andrew, Dawn and Riley. I've even grown to like Connor. But Kennedy will always be the one character from the verse i hate. She's arrogant and full of herself and a weak leader. Thinks she's the top potential when Vi and Amanda are better fighters. And she's so not a bad girl.
 
I thought a fair number of people liked Andrew. I think he's hilarious.

Kennedy is okay. It's more the potentials in general and that storyline that I hate than her. A big bunch of unnecessary additions to a show that was about to bow out.

I loved Andrew. He was so funny and I always looked forward to when he was going to come on the screen!
I fall into the category of disliking Dawn and Riley and Connor and Kennedy, but I was never aware that there was a lot of Andrew-hate. I love him! "Storyteller" made me cry!
 
She was a little full of herself sometimes, and she thought she was in charge of all the potentials.
Which kind of bugged me.

Pouts. But her flaws gave her a personality, made her distinguished and unique instead of some faceless Slayer. What do we know about Vi other than her obsession with funny hats? Kennedy on the other hand is brave, forward, confident, and proud about her sexuality. She isn't afraid to speak her mind and she's obviously a born leader.
 
The only reason Kennedy stands out as a character, is because the writers made a conscious decision to have a love interest for Willow that was the complete opposite of Tara. I can see why they would do that, but it just made a very unlikeable character. Tara was a sweet, shy and modest girl, but Kennedy...
 
Remember that episode where Kennedys bossing the potentials about during a training session, and calls one a maggot. She was totally getting off on that, it gave her a thrill to be moaning and controlling, and telling people what to do. That scene sums up her character.
