I Like Kennedy. Sue Me. :)

I don't really HATE Kennedy, but I don't exactly like her either. I think that she comes across slightly bossy, bratty, and spoiled. But I have to admit that the main reason for my dislike is because I really liked the Tillow relationship, and Kennedy seems to me to be a poor replacement. But she's OK as an individual. 🙂

Not like Kennedy has been a big favourite of mine but I've never hated her and I've come around to her more and more. So when I watched season 7 a few weeks ago I concentrated even more on her to see how bad she really is. And the result is... not bad at all. Just different to Tara and Oz. She's straight forward with Willow but if the same things had been said by Oz I think most people would have thought that it had been cute. She kind of takes charge of the potentials? Not surprising since she's the oldest and probably have the most experience. I think I've counted to 3 or 4 times when she said/did something that might have not been the best. The maggot thing mentioned above and when she is too straight forward when Buffy gets kicked out of the house the worst exxamples. The maggot thing was over the line in my mind but it was a role she played and just took it a little too far. I think both Amanda and Vi for example could have found joy in playing the "that" character as well even if they wouldn't have handled it the same way. The argument wasn't wrong as such if I remember correctly. Almost everyone had valid points but the discussion was handled extremly bad which was the fault of a lot of people and not just one. But to me it's not enough to create such hate for a character.

So in my mind Kennedy is a character that has been treated very badly by fans just because she wasn't Tara or Oz. As Riley could never replace Angel. None of those characters are the best in the Whedonverse but gets more hated for who they aren't instead of who they are.

I think the only real character I actually hated was Rona. :fighting1Annoying, pecimistic, a real downer. Kennedy can be annoying, too self rightous, immature, outspoken, selfish, bratty, and rebelious but....she did have other qualities that could redeem her if she let them.

In general, there weren't too many characters that didn't bring something interesting to the show. I guess that's a sign of a good television series. And of course theres always going to be people who like the underdogs. The writers liked them enough to have them on the show...except lame ass Rona!! What were they thinking?!!:bite-cha:
