Not to be confused with the tv show of the same name, the Britney Spears post got me thinking alot about my childhood, the wonderful 90's. In my opinion, especially since I was just a child and didn't have to think about the repercussions of Monica Lewinsky's blowjob, the 90's were a wonderful time, with pop culture that we'll remember forever.

What are some of your favorite 90's moments, be it personal, intimate moments in your life, or even your favorite 90's toys, fashion trends, TV shows and cartoons. This board wouldn't be in existence today if it wasn't for a certain 90's television show, so lets pay some respects!

That is an awesome pic!
Great topic! I'm a 90's child too, and I really enjoyed it, because it was more innocent. Not too much, but to some degree. I think the tv shows were better then, especially the cartoons. Today it's too much anime. I liked the children shows back then.

Looking back, the fahsion sense was terrible! lol.

I agree! The fashion was all over the place, c'mon "Clueless"? Fashion disasters. 😛 And I like Anime, but in the 90's we had diversity with our cartoons, but now it's ALL Anime, and the cartoons that aren't Anime sucks. But I digress.🙄

The great tv shows esp on Nickelodeon- Doug, Hey Arnold,Sister Sister, Sabrina, Clarissa, Alex Mack!! Then on Cartoon Network - Johnny Bravo, Dexter's Laboratory! Ahhh they were all amazing!!

I'm so happy I was born in the '90s rather than the past decade. I can't imagine growing up with Hannah Montana and the Jonas Brothers. They're not real Disney. Classic Disney was the best, especially the Lion King. Also, S Club 7 totally owns Hannah Montana.

One word: Pokemon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pokemon's the best, and the first couple of generations of the game and first couple of anime seasons are so much cooler than the more recent ones imo. And Digimon. I loved that, too.

And Mr Bean. And that TV show Brum about the little car. And Power Rangers. I'm getting nostalgic.

There's more that I love about the '90s (not the fashion) but I can't think of anything else at the moment. I'll be back for sure. This is a great thread.

Yeah, cartoon network used to be awesome. I loved Dexters Laboratory, Cow and Chicken, Jonny Bravo, Courage the Cowardly Dog, the Powerpuff Girls, and so many more!!

platform shoes, Spice Girls, recording the top 40 onto a tape..... 🙂

Yes! And you'd get so mad because you have to fast foward just to get to your favorite song! Although back then, a lot of songs were great so that wasn't a big issue
I am so stuck in the 90's, the majority of the songs on my ipod are from the 90's (and 80's, and 70's). What are some of your favorite artists from that era? Mine are:

Red Hot Chili Peppers
Sublime
No Doubt
Pearl Jam
Nirvana
The Cranberries
Rob Zombie (Heh,heh)
Radiohead
Nine Inch Nails
311
Linkin Park
P.O.D
Alice in Chains
R.E.M
Garbage
Goo Goo Dolls
Dave Matthews Band
Cake
The Offspring
Weezer

On to some diversity:
Run DMC
Tupac
Biggie Smalls
Daft Punk
Alanis Morissette
Sarah McLachlan
The Fugees
Lauryn Hill
Erykah Badu
Brandy
(Old School) Mariah Carey
(Old School) Britney Spears
Backstreet Boys
N'Sync
Janet Jackson
Maxwell
Boys 11 Men
Sade

....the list goes on and on.

For me, it's the music too. But you missed the best part: punk!!! The 90's is probably my favorite era of punk.
I remember cassette tapes. I have a cassette tape of random kids songs like the macarena, hokey pokey and bananas in pyjamas. lol

I still play my N64! Goldeneye and Perfect Dark are my favorite games!
The 90's was so amazing, and I didn't really appreciate those days until I got older and the 90's were gone. There were so many amazing childrens shows and cartoons (like all the Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network shows that were mentioned already). The sitcoms were better also. The music was great, but I got obsessed with 80's metal and such and spent most of my time listening to that. I've recently been rediscovering some of the great music from the 90's that I enjoyed and it brings me back 🙂

One of the main reasons I love BtVS so much is because it kind of encapsulates what the 90's was. I get nostalgic watching the early seasons (along with movies and other shows from that time)! Also, the video games were so awesome back then! I mean, they're great now but there are so many of them that it's overwhelming! And they are slowly making everything online so the good old days of just having all your friends going to one person's house and playing video games with eachother is pretty much over.

I know I've only been through 2 full decades but the 90's was definitely the far superior one! I'm also aware that since it was my childhood and the days of innocence I have a bit of a bias when looking back. But I love the 90's!! 😀

Totally agree. Actually I think for the most part, BtVS has held up over time and doesn't seem dated except for the first and a half seasons. All I need to hear is "James Spader? He needs to call me" and I'm back in 90's land. LOL
I may have been born in '95 but I feel that my friends and I had a ton more fun than kids these days. We did not have Wiis and xboxs. I loved carrying around my Pokemon cards, My Little Ponies and of course beanie babies. (I had a book bag for my favorite beanie babies and I took them EVERYWHERE.) All of the kids in my block were always outside making up games.

The '90s had the best toys also, Skip-its, Slip-N-Slides and others!

Beanie Babies and Pokemon cards karma! :D

How could I forget beanie babies!
The 90's was amazing... I was born in the 80's, so I grew up with some of the best of pop culture in my life. My junior high and high school years were filled with bad fashion (courtesy of "Clueless" and stretchy baby doll tees and camo print dresses), great pop music (Backstreet Boys, *NSync, Britney, Christina, Spice Girls), and lots of awesome TV (BtVS, Will and Grace, FRIENDS, and all those amazing tween shoes on Nickelodeon).

My 90's memories kind of blur together, so here is what comes to mind:

-Crazy earrings
-Stretchy t-shirts and wide leg jeans
-Saved By the Bell; Hey, Dude; California Dreaming; Sweet Valley High; TGIF (Full House, Family Matters, Step By Step)
-Watching TRL with friends after school every day
-Limp Bizkit, TLC, Eminem, Mariah Carey
-Spice Girls mania. Along with the boy band phenomena, but I wasn't much of a fan
-Junior High Dances
-Titanic was a big deal
-Reading The Baby-Sitters Club, Sweet Valley High, Nancy Drew, Fear Street, Mary Higgins Clark...

Love all of these things. Lol my sister and I recently re-watched California Dreaming and some Sweet Valley High and they're so bad, lol. I don't understand why we loved them so much 😀

-Spice Girls mania. Along with the boy band phenomena, but I wasn't much of a fan

Lol, ahh, I remember I had all these Spice Girl's like shoes. They were huge!
Can't remember the name of the brand anymore but there was a specific brand that were super popular here

-Titanic was a big deal

Lol, yeah, my foster sister forced me to see that one three times in the movie theatre.... I was bored to tears each time. 😉

I used to have a few pairs of those huge Spice Girls platforms.... I fell down the stairs wearing some once, though, and that cured me of wanting to ever put them on again.

I wasn't a huge Titanic fan, either.
What?! How can you be bored by "Titanic"?!?!?!?!?! I'm gonna go see in 3D in April. 😉

It's so looong. (bad excuse as it doesn't bother me when it comes to the Godfather 2) 😉 Not a Leo fan either so that might be part of it...

I'm not sure I'm over the platform shoes yet... I don't have any left of course but whenever I see a pair I go a little "oooh pretty" in my head 😀

Yes, it's definitely long. But you know, I get wrapped up in the story and feeling so horribly sorry for all the real people who really went through that and my heart just aches and I forget about how long I have been watching.

Fall down a flight of stairs wearing some... That will cure your love for them. LOL

I think I'll pass on that last thing.. seems painful ;)
I was born 1986, so I had some great childhood memories from the 90's. 😀 Some that pop up:

- My big sister and I always did the fresh prince in bel air handshake with each other each morning before breakfast
- Arguing which of the power rangers that was the coolest (THE YELLOW ONE! 😀)
- Crying like mad at the episode were Kel's family was going to move from Keenan
- Playing with pogs and trading ishockey cards
- Listening and performing to the spice girls (I was Geri! 😀)

Yellow Power Ranger karma!!
I absolutely love the 90s. I was born in 88 🙂 I love all the old shows, sister sister, clarissa, Buffy, Sabrina the teenage witch, Angel, Dexters Lab, Cow and Chicken, Goosebumps, Are you afraid of the Dark? loads of shows that I loved 🙂 and I can remember all my old CDs: Spice Girls, Britney, Christina and loads of other cheesy stuff that I'd sing along too. My first concert was 1997 I went to see the Spice Girls at Don Valley Stadium, Sheffield. OOOOhh and I used to watch the labyrinth all the time (I know its not 90s but it reminds me of it)

I do agree though that the fashion sense was terrible. I had Spice Girls platform shoes, that sums it up I think. And me and my best friend used to dress the same haha, long black stretch skirts, bright blue PU jackets and lots of camo print 🙂

labyrinth is actually the first movie me and my husband ever watched together! Isn't that.... romantic? :D
