I loved it, oh my god. I loved the guy that did all the dances, I loved the Lorne headless plot and I love Fred so that story line is awesome. I thought Angel was hillarious when he was gloating about being in the sun.

Yay for the love!
I actually liked the pylea arc too.It was different and new which is kinda why i liked it.I also liked the Cordy being princess thing,"Off with their heads.Kidding."She was hilarious. It also introduced Fred and Groo. The Pylean vampire was cool too but scary.

I really liked that Lorne basically became a regular after this arc. He was just a great addition to the already wonderful cast.

I totally agree....I absolutely loved Lorne....I thought he was such a great addition to the show. : pbounce:

I usually don't like it when they leave home, or when it's flash back or just not on the usual location... But I have to say that I really liked Pylea as well. I love everything they did with Lorne.. And I so did not know that Numfar was Joss at first, but he's just wonderful. I love that Angel gets to be funny (we hadn't seen that much of funny Angel so far) and I love his dorky sense of humor. And of course "“ Fred.
What I don't like is Groo, and the whole 'Princess'-thing... But the rest of it, I pretty much loved.. yup.

I liked Pylea, but then I do have an affinity towards other dimensions. But mostly because it wasn't what you expected from a season finale arc.

This time I'm gonna be the grouch and say I pretty much hated Pylea... well, maybe not hate... Numfar was great and I liked Fred, but the rest of the story was a tad too bizarre for me! Sorry.

The Pylea arc was what got me into Buffyverse in the first place, so I guess I owe it a lot. They're a really enjoyable for episodes.

Although I genereally prefer a proper finale, makes the season feel more complete. One of the reasons I like season 5 the best, its the only one with a full on finale:

1) Quite a proper finale, but Vocah hadn't shown his face before.
3) Pretty much all build up to the cliffhanger ending
4) Peace Out was more of a finale. Home was just like an epilogue (wow, just noticed that both season 4s of Buffy/Angel were the only seasons with an epilogue, coincidence?).

I liked Pylea alot too. Angel was hilarious talking about his hair after seeing his reflection. Also when they need to hide the car and he goes "Look there is some in that patch of sun over there" and runs off smiling. I wasn't a big fan of the princess and Groo thing though.

Nah, Pylea not so popular with me, I do like the Fred thing and Joss being there and Lorne and other stuff, but Cordelia and the princess thing and Groo and all that I really don't like.. So even if there's lots that I love there unfortunally the bad things is what I tend to remember there..

I LOVED the Pylea Arc.
Lornes moment to shine outside his usual persona.
Angel being the comedy character.
Wes showing the foundations of a terrific and intelligent LEADER.
Fred.......
Princess Cordelia was soo great. Giving her everything she thought she deserved then realising its not the prize....its the battle(but still liking the prize)
Gunn with his realisation that he is part of the team.
The idea of humans as cattle.
The Bright colours and magnificent 'Musical' qualities.....(Wizard of Oz)
Angels polar extremes getting a bit of time....contemplate the Demon in Man....not the Man in the Demon.
The Covenant.....i love religious bad guys.
The link that shows W&H are everywhere.
Groo grew on me. Everytime i watch the arc now i like him more and more.

I think that after such a dark, depressing season, this was truly a fantastic way to end...made even better by the magnificent high of getting home after the adventure to the ABSOLUTE bummer of when Angel see's Willow.

I can't see why fans of the show dislike this arc.
It keeps the core elements of the show while turning a few things on its head.....

I loved the pylea arc too.And i agree with what u said about Cordy.
Pylea was so great! I loved that Angel was so goofy about seeing his reflection ("this is because of the portal, right?" "No, it pretty much always looks like that!" LMAO!) and walking in the sun. Ok, get over it already. Loved that Angel was so shaken over seeing his inner Demon, and that Fred was the one that saved him, since he saved her from Pylea. Lorne was hilarious with his lifegiver! "Numfar, do the dance of joy!" LOL! Gunn and Wes were funny, "I have a plan!"

The Wolf, Ram and Hart books were awesome....one of them shows up in a later ep, I can't remember which one right now, but I was so excited when I saw it!

Loved Groo!!

I loved Plyea mainly because of Groo..who I thought was adorable.

I also liked that we got to understand Lorne better and got to meet his family. His mother was pretty funny! 😉

I also have a soft spot for "goofy, happy" Angel. It's a nice change from the normal brooding.

Yes those last three (or four?) episodes were so good! Even my mom (who doesn't like Buffy or Angel much) thought those were entertaining...after she saw one she made me promise to remind her the next day was the conclusion! lol

I have to join the *I love Pylea* chorus lol.

I loved the medieval Xena/Herkules settings, the light and funny storyline and the witty Wizard of Oz/Through the looking glass allusions. Despite its humerous and light tone though it has a very intriguing, dramatic edge beneath. It is in short a mirror for all the character developments that take place in season 2 in general. Angels fight with his inner darkness, Cordys acceptance of her seer role, Wesley growing into a leadership role, Gunns loyalty problems, Lornes quarrel with his past.

I once wrote a short analysis of how the Pylea arc relates to the Wizard of Oz, but since I don't want to bore people, I won't post it here lol .. if anybody is interested, PM me 😉

The Pylea arc was awsome. They're probably one of my favorite eps during the course of the show. The setting was so new and different, where everything was backwards and demons were in control rather than the humans. I loved Cordelia as a princess (she's always had a fun personality but here it was so great, trying to be all high and mighty but in a so not threatening way. Great.😀) and the introduction of Groo. I always thought they looked really good together and he was so sweet how he wanted her to be his princess and I think loved her from their very first meeting.

I also loved Angel being able to go out into sunlight. His reaction to this was great and quite funny. He couldn't stop standing in the sun.

The introduction of Fred was probably one of my favorite parts of this arc. She was so crazy but also brilliant and I would say brave. She had courage and kept her wits about her. I don't think many people would have been able to survive in Pylea for 5 years but Fred did.

Lorne was also a hoot in this episode. Not wanting to go back home and being dragged into it. I loved how he was different from everyone else because he could hear music when such a word didn't even exist where he was from. And his family--hilarious!! His "mother" was especially funny. Wouldn't wanted to have that family!

It was a really great arc and a great ending to season 2.
