I Met James This Morning & Asked Him About New Buffy Movie...

Sooo this morning I headed over to the Javitz Center here in NYC for the Fangoria convention for a photo op and autograph with James Marsters.

First off, he is the sweetest man ever. He did such playful photos with all these fans, he's just so into it!

Second, he was so enthused about everything he spoke about. He took his time to talk to everyone, it was really great.

So, I asked him when getting my Spike bust signed (which he laughed at and told me was awesome) what he thought of the remake, and his first words to me were, and i quote, "Pssh. it's gonna suck."

He basically went on to say he felt if anything was done without Joss it wasn't worth it. And he was telling me something that i remember someone here posting an article about, about him telling Joss he had 8 years to cast him as Spike in a movie otherwise he'd have to cast someone new. And i said "yeah, otherwise you won't be looking like an immortal vampire anymore" and he goes "exactly! I told Joss and he gave me a face like 'F*ck you!' but then he couldn't argue with me either."

After i got my bust autographed there was a photographer who thought it was really cool, took a bunch of pics of me with it and recorded my name for spelling, said it'll be up on gettyimages.com!!! exciting!


Haha! anyway he was SO nice and just so down to earth. I had a fantastic morning!

Ah, it looks like you and him had a hoot! I wish I had the guts when I met him to have a weird photo. Or to kiss him. Or both.

I AM DYING OF JEALOUSY HERE! It seems like everyone on the boards is meeting James but me! Also, you both look absolutely adorable in that picture!

I'm so glad to hear that he's against the Buffy movie, too. That makes two cast members...we just have to get the rest of them to say something about it so they can throw things at the Kuzuis and/or get their hands on a copy of the script and leak it online so we can all get all pissy about how bad it is and properly protest against it. 😀

haha yeah and the way he spoke about playing Spike it seems he really would like to in a movie, if given the chance.

Also, i can def tell you guys he is far from evil! He is so freakin' cool and laid back it's awesome. No evilness, honest.

I think if I met James, I'd act more crazy than I really am. It just sounds like more fun than saying, "hey man, good show." I'll jump up and down and scream, "Oh, My God! It's Spike! It's Spike! I KNEW YOU DIDN'T DIE IN THAT ALLEY!" Then I'll run around and circles for a few minutes until he quietly slips away.
