(This is one of those odd thoughts that pop up in what's left of my brain occasionally)

When Buffy sent Angel back to LA, could her real reason have been that she simply didn't want to have to deal with having both vampires there at the same time because she knew that having them there together would most likely force her to make THE decision, and she simply wasn't ready to do it? That would work quite well with her "cookie dough" analogy: she couldn't decide who would ultimately get the cookies.

I don't think Angel really had any part in the whole 'defeat the big bad'. I have not watched Angel, but he probably had bigger and better things to do in L.A.

Nah...The Dawnster wouldn't sit an cry. She would go out and get chocolate pudding, and throw it all over the Spike and Angel.... 😀

I can't imagine Giles and Wood cheering them on.... Giles will huff and roll his eyes at the immaturity of the two who were supposed to be the oldest members around, and Wood would yell that it was the end of the world, no time for silly fights over a girl. Xander and Dawn would mock and eat popcorn while watching.

Personally, I always thought that Apocolypse was Spike's, he had earned the right to save the day. If Angel had stayed he would have been the one to wear the amulet and go up in flames. Over the course of season seven Spike had been building up a huge crescendo, it was his world to save not Angel's.

If Angel had stayed, he still probably wouldn't have gone up in flames. I agree on that being Spike's job, something that he had earned through pain and torture, from Glory, from the demons in the cave where he earned his soul, and at the hands of the First Evil's minions, just as I believe that he had earned the right to hear Buffy finally say the words that he had been wanting to hear for so long.

So, there would have been some reason for Angel to have not worn the Amulet, hopefully some realistic logical reason, or maybe Buffy would just have said, "No, I need Spike to do this while you protect Giles and Wood." Something would have come up (for that matter, she was just plain stupid for rejecting the help of as powerful a fighter as Angel, and "second front" be damned. She needed as much help as she could lay her hands on right there at the "first front") that would have made Spike wearing the Amulet the right choice and it would have given Angel just one more thing to brood about, so everybody would win.

that could have been possibly one of the great moments in buffy just imagine how great the scene in shells when spike finally beat angel just add the scoobies into the mix and think of how much more of an emotion scene that would have been.

Im new here and Im probably going to get some flack for this...but am I the only one who doesnt really dig the Angel character? I think he's kinda wussy...
I for one, am glad that Buffy sent him back to LA before all hell broke loose in the series finale...I think that ship had sailed long ago (Bangel) and she knew it...even if she kissed him out of habit/lingering feelings. Im sure it's not hard to be attracted to a guy like Angel (he's not ugly, that's for sure..) but that doesnt mean she was still in love with him, does it?

Well, Angel had definitely become more of his own man after leaving Sunnydale, so playing sidekick, and most lokely not even top sidekick, to Buffy once more would have been hard, if not impossible, for him. Add to that, his full heart just wouldn't be in it, since he would HAVE to be thinking about what was going on with his crew back at W&H. He might have actually been more of a liability, especially arriving at that particular moment, than he would have been an asset.

Angel a wussy? huh? I mean sure hes broody and around Buffy's other boyfriends quite immature but then so are both Riley and Spike around Angel. The way its meant to be is that she loves both Angel and Spike and she isnt finished baking yet(chuckles) so she cant decide which one until shes ready

I will always chalk up Angel's appearance, and that kiss, in Chosen as simply a way to appease Bangel fans too since it was the last episode... well that and to bring the amulet so Spike could wear it. But to me none of that whole Buffy/Angel stuff in Chosen made any sense. It made no sense that Buffy's first reaction be to kiss him. No other time that she saw him after he left Sunnydale did she immediately walk up to him a plant a wet one on him. And it especially made no sense for Angel to act like he did, like he was still all immaturishly hung up on her. For Christ Sake, this coincided with all the Cordy tragedy in S4 Angel! He was completely in love with Cordy and he sees Buffy and what, forgets all about that? It made no sense at all to me, felt fully unrealistic and frankly pissed me off a little, no alot. Cordy would have ripped him a new one if she could! Joss just wanted to throw both Spuffy and Bangel fans a bone IMO.

Well Cordy had been in what was supposed to be an irreversable coma and before that she was a super villian... he hadn't talked to the real Cordy since the phone conversation he didnt even know that she did love him. im still a little confused on what actually happend in your welcome because at the end apparently shes actually in the hospital the whole time...Flipside Chosen was made to leave it open-ended so Joss could keep everyone in the dark until he finally decides hes tortured us or until he can no longer write because of arthritis...

About Angel and Cordy. Yeah I know that the last time he'd really spoken to technically the real her was on the phone before she "ascended" but he did love her and deep down he had to of known she loved him too and thats why she wanted to meet. All the evil Cordy stuff and the coma really affected him though. Its not like after Jasmine was defeated and Cordy was all comatosed he was all of a sudden over it and ready to make with the Buffy smoochies. I can't believe that. I took it to mean that in her comatose state the PTB came to her and offered her one last chance to to go to Angel, say her goodbyes and help him along the right path before she died. I think that becomes apparent when we find out that she passed along that last vision to him through their kiss.
