Basically, it's an in joke between my friends that we "trigger" each other.

And another in joke is that we type stuff such as "triggeredmylife.com" or "danztriggersmylife.co.uk". [Again, don't ask. We've been friends since we were like 13].

Anyway, for a friends birthday I wanted to link her to danitriggersmylife.co.uk (I've bought the domain) and it come up with a picture of her and some txt.

I've got as far as buying the domain name but I have NO idea what to do now! Help! Please!

Who did you buy the domain from? If I get some details from you (very trusting in itself) I would be able to do it all for you. Buying the domain is only one step, then you have to find someone to host (well, you can host yourself with a server but thats certainly not something you want to do for this lol!).

I have hosting so I can easily transfer the domain and host the site for you (but it would involve transfering the domain into my details), otherwise, you will need to find somewhere (there maybe somewhere very cheap). Chances are the person you bought the domain from will have details on how to get your site up and running with them (but then it would cost).

Edit- I see you got a .co.uk, well, I cant help you with that i'm afraid as my hoster doen't allow .co.uk's... so you'll need a hoster is what it comes down to. For this, you might just want the cheapest out there.

I kinda got this far whilst pissed out of my head last night, maybe I should get drunk again & try and figure it out? 😛

Seriously, any help you can give me is brilliant. The site/name/whatever is UK2.NET - FREE .co.uk and .com domains. Argh, that comes up when I post the link. It's danitriggersmylife.co.uk (hopefully that won't hyperlink).

If you could really host the site for me I'd actually love you forever (or, well, until someone does me a bigger favour 😉 ).

They offer hosting. Pay them the 2.95 per month and get the details on how to upload to the site. Then cancel after you've had your fun. (Youll still own the domain, but the site wont exist without hosting).

Once you have at least some kind of hosting plan linked to your domain (If your totally confused about all this, just ask them, any self respecting hosting company deals with everyone from total n00bs to pros, email them), then you can upload to your site.

Make your website (you can make it in Mircrosoft word if you need to), then download a program like CoreFTP which is free, get the ftp details from the hoster, then upload it all....


If you like... triggeredmylife.com, If you give me $10, I can host that for you and do it all for you, it would honestly only take me 10mins or so if you give me the picture and the text you want (a really simple site right?). Then you would have it for a year, no hassle. ? Would be an easier option, though i'd want the 10 bucks to register the domain (paypal).
