Hey 🙂

I recently startet to rewatch BtVS. As you can see from the title of this thread, I am currentrly watching "I Robot, you Jane".

I just noticed that when Malchom/Moloch search for information about Buffy in the high school's data base, the document he opens says that Buffy is born 10/24/80 and that she's a sophmore. He then e-mails the document to Dave. When Dave opens the document however, it says that Buffy is born 05/06/79 and that she is a senior.

Did anybody else notice this? I couldn't find a thread on it...

I just thought it was kinda funny, it's obviously a mistake. She is a sophmore in the first season... anyway, I also looked up a picture of her tombstone at the end of season 5 and it says that she's born in 1981.

What is the real birth date of Buffy Summers? 🙂

I just thought I would share this 🙂 If you have any thoughts on this subject please share! Or if you know of any other episodes where her birth date is mentioned. I couldn't think of any other episodes at the moment...

Cool Buffy factoid, Carina. I never noticed that, and thanks for bringing it to our collective attention.

Buffy's birthday is - according to the time of year when her birthday eps aired - sometime in the third week of January.

The reason 'I Robot, You Jane' had such an inconsistency is because it was a last minute, mid-season replacement show, and not everything had been worked out, so obviously some things were over looked and errors were made.

'Surprise', 'Helpless', 'A New Man', 'Blood Ties' and 'Older and Far Away' are all the 12th 13th or 14th episode of their respective seasons, tying in with the mid-January theory.

Lyri: I have never thought of that... that her birthday would be around the time they actually aired the birthday-episodes. Cool 🙂 However... they still gave us three different years of birth (79, 80 and 81).

Like I said, it was a mid-season replacement show, they didn't know if they were going to get picked up for a second season by the time 'Prophecy Girl' aired, so the attention to detail that gets paid in the later seasons just wasn't present in the first season, and there were a lot of goofs and things that were missed. Like the year of Buffy's birth in this episode. And Darla's character and background. Giles' relationship with magic. (He says in 'The Witch' that that was the first spell he'd ever cast - HA!) DAWN! LMFAO!

It's not the first time goofs have happened in this or any other show (Angel's reflection is seen more than once, despite him not supposed to have one) so I just put it down to simple human error. 🙂
