I used to hate you, but now I love you!

Buffy: But it's mostly because I was reading fanfic before watching the show and there was so much Buffy bashing - that I believed was true - until I watched the show and right now she's my favorite female character.

Riley: Blame it on fanfiction and fan-hate in boards. Watching the actual show, I fell in love with him. He was a wonderful guy and he managed to be friends with Buffy's friends.

Anya. She really annoyed me because she was so blunt and can be really rude. But now she's one of my favourites!

Cordy: I hated her in BTVS, but now after seeing her development in Angel and how she grew close to Angel, I grew to love her. So I don't mind her so much in BVTS.

Tara: I didn't trust her, but the more I watch the show, the more I'm liking her.

I always thought he was slimy and disgusting and pale and dull and full of crap.
Plus His ramones albums were gross and That blonde hair made him look so gay.
Plus His passions addiction was weird....Until I saw the show and fell in love with it.

I dont like spike and I never will. He was the worst character in the history of Science Fiction. So no it was not offensive.
Guys, remember that everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Also, please try not to use slurs that will offend others.
 
Buffy. I didn't like her when I first started watching the show, I thought she was boring, whiny and was just all about her boyfriends.. but now I think she's great. and I didn't like Xander either, but now I love him.

I have to admit, it took me a long time to come around to Buffy the character - maybe it was Chosen - (jk) Buffy rocks! :D
Dawn - could not stand how annoying she was in season 5 and season 6. I finally began to like her in season 7. Then, looking back, I understand her issues in the earlier seasons. Finding out she was created by monks, her mom dying, her sister dying, her sister coming back to life but being depressed, dealing with Willow and Tara's breakup...that can mess you up.
 
Upon my first watch of BtVS, I hated Wesley in season 3, but when he came to Angel I really liked him, and he became one of my favorite characters. And as of now, I even like Wesley in season 3 of BtVS. GO WESLEH!
