I think it is accurate to say that both Warren and April are pathetic; just in different senses of the word. Warren is pathetic in the contemptuously inadequate way, and April is pathetic in the evoking sympathy way.

Poor Xander - finally gets a beautiful hug from Buffy and he can't feel it.

Love the way Buffy gets worked up about Warren leaving a robot in his room without telling it! That whole conversation is great.
Buffy (a little too sincerely) "I'm sure she has many exciting labour saving attachments!"

I thought that the conversation on the swings was the end .. "It's always darker .." and then the little scenes at the end are great. Xander and Buffy hanging out. Glory: it's a good job she isn't in the habit of answering the phone! Spike and Warren LMAO! and then BAM!! I forgot that last one. 🙁

Warren was indeed a 'sad, little boy'. I know there's this stereotype about geeks finding it difficult to fall in love but I'm an absolute romantic and I just found it so sad and disheartening how he would go to such lengths as to creating a robot for this artificial love and affection - and some crude stuff too.
