UP THE IRONS!
Yes, I did it. It took me and my friend about 14 hours to watch all Firefly episodes and Serenity. We started at about 2 pm and watched until 4 in the morning. We had a few breaks, because we needed to get something to eat and had to go to the toilet, of course.
And it was really amazing seeing all those characters develop over the course of the series. I mean, you meet them in the first episode and in the end you almost start crying when one of them dies. It's an incredible story and I don't really know any other stories that are as complete as this one. Shows like Buffy are too long for watching them in one session and get too loose at times, and many movies are too focused on the actual story, so that they don't take the time for the character development of a TV series (there may be exceptions, of course, but certainly not many).
In the last 5 minutes or so of Serenity, you witness the funeral of two characters that you learned to love over the course of 14 hours. You accompanied them on an incredible journey and it is kind of painful and sad letting go.
Anyway, the story of Serenity is one of the greatest adventures I know. It is to me, what, for example, The Lord of the Rings is to other people.
Have you ever watched the complete series in one day? How was it? Do you want to do it again some time? If you have never done this, would you like to do it?
Well, I think I'm gonna take a break from Firefly now. I've watched the full series 5 times in less than 6 months and I feel like I need to watch something different for a change. Maybe Buffy again, which I haven't watched in quite some time, or Dollhouse, The X-Files....
