I Wish They Made an Angel Video Game

I know it'll never happen but I can't help feel it was such a wasted oppotunity. I mean they made like 7 Buffy games and IMO only the first was the only decent one and most were crappy little portable things. I realize Buffy was far more popular and successful but the Angel shows screams 'video game adaption' far more than Buffy ever did.

I imagine it to be a free-roaming game where you explore L.A. on foot or by car. There'd be the main storyline missions/levels. Side-missions would be like saving random civilians and destroying vampire/demon lairs. Cordelia would have visions and answer phones which give you most of your missions, and you could maybe play as Wesley and dive through the air with pistols/shotgun or as Gunn and use his truck with the stakes on it. And then Fred could create certain gizmo's/contraptions that can help you.

That sounds pretty cool and maybe they will do some sort of combined Buffy/Angel continuation game with a lot of Hell-A Angel missions.

Then again anything has to be better than Chaos Bleeds lol.

Thank you, yeah the only problem I think there'd be with making it a GTA-game is because it would be compared to other GTA games. I'd be like 'why am I playing this type of game as a good guy? The point of these games are the freedom to go and do anything but I'm not allowed to kill random people and cause riots'. But it would still offer alot that the others of this genre don't so it may balance out.

For story, since it would be the only Angel game, I was thinking of it as a tribute as well as a stand alone story. So the story of the game would span across the show. Like instead of just a lost episode kind of thing they do with games/books it would be 3 lost episodes that have a continuing story arc that connects them.

It starts in season 1, then after you do a small amount of missions the stroy jumps ahead to season 3 where you complete the a bulk of the story and it ends with Season 5.

And this would work well with the gameplay because Angel would naturally become a better fighter and stronger as he has gained more experience throughout his evil-fighting career. It would also show the development of Cordy, Wes, Gunn and the 3 HQ's (Office, Hotel, W&H).

Plus in the S3 segment Wes/Gunn could come along on missions as fighters, you'd get to use Wes's motorcycle, Gunns truck and you'd have more client's, weapons, etc. Then with the S5 part you'd have 12 sports cars, a helicopter, a better Wesley (now with guns) and Spike.

Then again anything has to be better than Chaos Bleeds lol.

God yes, man I hated that game so much for so many reasons.

Especially with Angel, I don't see much of a problem with that. You could have some kind of "karma meter" (like the True Crime games had, just better... lol) and if you do too many bad things, you turn into Angelus [yes, that's not very canon, but I could see it excellently working in a game!] setting Slayers and rogue demon hunters on your trail.

Or, even better, canon-wise - just set it in the Angelverse, have yourself create a new character, and have the Fang Gang on one side, and W&H on the other side as NPCs watching your actions, interacting with you according to how you "behave"... with the plot of the game leading to (at least) two very different outcomes depending on which of those two "employers" you cater to in the course of the story. (Adding a high replayability factor to it, btw. 😉 )

Ever since we picked up the first Buffy xbox game used at a GameStop, I've been bugging DH about whether there's an Angel one, and don't want to accept no as an answer. 😉 If they did make one, I would buy it immediately.

The idea of playing as one of the characters would be so cool... Angel, Wes, Cordy, Fred, or Gunn...

as soon as i read the thread title i was like "why had i never thought of that" i think it would be better than a buffy game (not as witty) but certainly more adult. ooooh i want them to make it so i can play it.

Oh I would totally be pro an Angel vdeo. Only condition, it had to be for computers, because I don't have any gaming consoles. But yeah, there are so many possibilites. You could even have something set in the past when Angel was still Angelus and hanging out with the other vampires. You could deepen the Holtz storyline, maybe let him hunt you (and you can play either Angelus or Darla) and well, you have to make sure to not get caught but still bring terror and mayhem to the world 😀

Yeah there would have to be something in the storyline that incorporated Angelus.

Yeah, we should bond together and write a script with loads of ideas and send it to Joss Wheedon and petition and try to convince a Publisher like EA or Ubisoft, that it would be a great idea to create a proper Buffy/Angel-verse videogame for the Computer. They should call it Buffy Season 9/Angel Season 7 or so 🙂

Same here. But it would totally kick ass! I can also see some very interesting multiplayer options here. Like, with some people playing baddies and others playing goodies. I would really love to play that. Did they really never made one? It's such a missed opportunity..

Yeah multi-player would be awesome. Especially if they added characters like Beast, Illyria, Jasmine, Hamilton, Faith, Skip, Groo, Conner, Holtz, etc.
