My brother plays the Batman games Arkham Asylum and Arkham City and I thought how awesome a Buffy themed game in the style of those Batman games would be! In Arkham City you can walk around in Arkham (a part of Gotham) as Batman and besides doing missions and stuff you can just beat up bad guys. You can also switch to Catwoman. It's really fun.
So I had the idea of a game where you can walk around in Sunnydale with Buffy, do missions and play the story mode with certain elements form the TV series. You can walk the entire town with all 12 cemeteries 😀 where every now and then a vampire rises that can be slain. There are also alleys and stuff where civilians get attacked by vampires and other demons and you can help them by slaying the baddies with the totally awesome Slayer moves. You can also switch to Willow, Giles, Faith etc.

Yeah, something like that would be pretty much my dream video game. 🙂 What do you think?

yeah that would be awesome alright!
That would be awesome! Though I find the Batman combat too much of a button basher. I liked how the Buffy game Chaos Bleeds was pretty hard and had good combat. A Buffy on current gen consoles would be fantastic, but the franchise isn't big enough to be given a decent budget to make such a great game :/

I always wanted to play an ANGEL game made in the style of Devil May Cry, only toned down a little bit to suit the show more 😛

That would freakin ROCK! My hubby plays that game and it would be AMAZING to see a BTVS game like it...

This might be the best thread ever. I'm fully prepared to start a petition to make this happen. Not even a joke.

I'll start this by saying that I've grown up on Batman and Buffy. Between the two, I think they make up about 95 percent of my moral outlook on life. I've been reading comics, with Batman at the forefront since I was 13 and have been in love with Buffy since I was 15.

Both the Batman games (Arkham Asylum and City) were off-the-charts good. They might be my two favorite video games of all time. The graphics, the character depth (the characters were incredibly interesting. On par with most T.V. and movie characters), the story (which is just amazing), all of it. It's just incredible. Just getting to play Batman (which I have to say, is a cool feeling. The people who made that game truly got Batman. The way he talks, the way he acts, the way he fights and moves. They got him) and moving through Gotham City is insanely cool. The way the game is structured is awesome as well. The main story is one of the best I've ever seen, but the side missions, patrolling the city against minor villains and criminals, is so cool. It's kind of like the old GTA games on steroids, with the awesome dialed up.

I would LOVE a Buffy game. I've been hunting down some of the old ones on PS2 through eBay, but I'm having a tough time of it. Buffy has such a rich and detailed mythology and history that it lends itself perfectly to a game like Arkham City. Sunnydale is the perfect setting for something like that as well. You could even do a DLC pack with Angel in L.A. Getting to play Buffy, and switch out to be Faith, Angel or Spike, would be just so cool.

Arkham City got all the same voice actors who made the original Batman cartoon and Batman Beyond, so if they could get the real Buffy actors for a game like that? I can't even describe the awesomeness.

Man I want this to happen!

It would be a great game with the technology currently available towards games, especially graphics. The only problem is that the game it's self (especially in todays gaming world) may not attract a very wide audience on a global scale. It would have to very cost effective and as such would probably be downgraded on graphics and in general, that's not to say though that it still wouldn't be a brilliant game.

I would love it!!! Going through Sunnydale at night killing gribblies, researching in the library (I'd set it early so the humour was at it's best) and storming vamp nests during the day. I am so sad the MMO was cancelled 🙁

Yea, of course it would be great, but sadly I don't see it happening. BtVS isn't as popular as it used to be. 😛

I don't think there's a better gameplay that a Buffy-related game should be based on. Arkham City style would be perfect, nothing else!

That'd be the selling point for me- I would definitely, no doubt, buy a console just for a Buffy-related video game (yeah I don't own one T-T).

Hey, hey, hey Tom? You should check your phone, buddy. Like now. It's parade. Calling to tell you that you've rained on it and asking you to STOP.

Back to the original topic...A Buffy game in that style would be incredible. Though I, honestly, would rather have a Buffy Kinect compatible game. I'd love to physically stake a vamp and stuff. That would be way cool.

I would really just take a new Buffy game in any style, though. We need one for the next gen! So bad.

First off, Batman Arkham City and Arkham Asylum are both awesome games, some of my favorites, and BtVS is my favorite TV show of all time, so I concur that that would be an awesome game.

I'd like a Persona style Buffy game, I mean, Persona 3 Portable with the female main character is pretty much already Buffy. Even the social link mechanics would work well in Buffy lore, friends keeping her in the world and all that. Go to Bronze after school or go shopping or study with Willow or train with Giles and so on and slay at night with your friends. Romance virtually whoever you want ( now that would shut up the shippers ) or ignore that crap and focus on being the most dedicated and toughest slayer ever. Swap J-Pop with 90s alternative rock and turn based gameplay with Arkham style 3rd person perspective beat-em-up or even better - with Zeno Clash first person brawler action, add character progression ellements and you, my friend have

THE BEST GAME EVER!

Okay, since seeing this thread I've been thinking about how awesome this game would be. Seriously, this would be beyond cool. Somebody make this happen! Please!
