Ideas how Dawn Fits into PRevious episodes

I know she didnt exist, but people obviously would REMEMBER HER BEING around before.

So how would people Remeber and documentary evidence indicate her being in the first 4 seasons.

Especialy, would joyce have been quite as upset, at Buffys disappearance at the end of 2nd season if she has one daughter left.
 
When I think about that subject, I feel like my head will explode lol I just want to believe that Dawn lived with her dad till s5, it's easier on the brain that way.

I always just picture her walking in the background of scenes, every so often just turning o the camera and waving, Constantine complaining about being ignored.
 
She was like 10. She should've been home with her mother most of the time. I would think only the scenes at home or having to do with home should be different. Lol

As far as I'm concerned, every ep would have played out the same, just with one or two added scenes to remind everyone that she was a part of their lives.

The first season or so I would imagine she didn't have a big impact on what Buffy did, as there was such a big age gap. Six years would have put Dawn at 10 during 'Prophecy Girl' and there aren't many 16 year old's who would would let their 10 year old sisters hang out with her and her friends.

I think it would have been S3 where Dawn really started to develop an interest into Buffy's life. She would have been 12/13 and she would have just found out that she had been right all along about her sister being a superhero. I would have liked to have seen some sort of scene where Dawn and Buffy talk about the fact that it was Dawn's tattling that got Buffy sent to the institution for believing that vampires are real. (Slayer, Interrupted. For anyone who hasn't read it, really, go do that.)

I think the scene in 'Amends' when Buffy invites Faith to spend Christmas with them would have been nice to see with Dawn added to the mix. Before Faith went psycho, I think Dawn would have been really interested in Faith and sort of fascinated by this alternate version of her sister.

As for Joyce not being so upset about Buffy's disappearance had she had Dawn...I don't think it would have even made one iota of difference. Just because you have other children doesn't mean the pain of losing one or one going missing is any less.

oh my I'm thinking of a 11yo Dawn, now THAT would have been annoying.
 
Read slayer interrupted... ouch... have to wonder if buffy would have wound up there without dawns meddling.

Possibly why it wasnt brought up in prior episodes
 
That scene where Buffy is in a trance and noticing in the background a photograph where Dawn is fading in and out... does anyone else find that really freaky!?

That's a really interesting idea. It makes Buffy's "shiftless, absentee father" sound not so bad if, after the split, Dawn went to live with him. At least he was doing some good, not just some guy who no longer cares.

I was just thinking about this topic last night, when I watched the second episode of Season 3: it made me think how maybe Joyce might have handled Buffy's departure better in this new 'Dawn-existing' reality, as she seems to suggests that one of the hardest parts of Buffy leaving was that she was alone. I would love for them to outline some of the new memories that the scoobs and co have now, other than Dawn fancies Xander: big who cares, although it makes their current relationship seem a little creepy now: more so than it already was, poor Dawn.
 
Well, I get why she had a crush on Xander, he was pretty much the only male friend that Buffy had...plus he was funny in a goofy way that kids Dawn's age would like and he was always around.
But I don't really get what she sees in him now, I mean it must be weird for the both of them...almost like they're family members or something.😕

The main people I wonder about interacting with Dawn in the past are Cordelia, Faith and Angel because they never really do. Faith does a little bit in S7 and I always imagine that, before Faith went all crazed that Dawn kinda saw her as...really cool, with her tatoo and slang and laid-back attitude. She probably thought of Faith as the 'cool' slayer. 🙂

Angel, well, he would've been the mysterious guy that her sister was always mooning over and crying after.
I really have no idea how Dawn and Cordelia interacted, I guess it depends on when Dawn's crush on Xander started.
 
I remember there being a short fanfic series a while back about Dawn being in earlier episodes. It was quite well done 🙂 If I remember correctly, they added her into "Welcome To The Hellmouth/Harvest" and "The Pack", with a small piece about her seeing Angel in vamp!face in "Angel"
