IF angel had been restored earlier, think he'd have managed to escape from Spike and Drusilla.

Dru in particular would have likely bent over backwards to kill him.

Spike would probaly have preferred to kill him but not minded if angel escaped.

Thing is disoriented and confused hed have had a hard time.

As Drusilla's sire and Spike's grandsire he's the one who controls them. Angelus is always there but with a soul he's aimed in the opposite direction, though we see a lot more of that in 'Angel' than BTVS.

Now Darla might have been a different story, as his sire she has a power over him that he can't resist soul or no soul. The one thing most vampire portrayals seem to have common ground on is the bond shared between the sire and his/her sired. When Darla is resurrected in 'Angel' we see that pull as much as he'd tried to resist and we see it with Drusilla during the Angelus saga in BTVS which pissed Spike off to the point of even trying to team up with Buffy to fight against him (and Buffy told him to **** off).

I don't think Dru would have killed Angel, even given the choice. As SoulOfAngelus said, the bond between sire and siree(?) is intense.

I think Spike would have tried, but only out of the jealousy aspect.

Remember it would be more fun for Spike and Dru to toy with Angel and Buffy rather than kill them straight away. Like Angelus wanted to do to Buffy when he was evil.

IMO

Probably, escape wouldn't have been much of an issue. He would just say something like, "I'm going to check on something. Be back in a couple of hours," walk out the door, find Buffy, and tell her that he was back in control. Unless he actually told Dru or Spike that he had regained his soul it wouldn't become noticeable, or at least he could have concealed the fact for long enough to make his getaway.

I'm not sure anyone would have done anything. The fang four have had so many opportunities to kill each other and they never do.

Darla didn't kill Angel when he first got his soul.
Angel never sent anyone after Spike as long as he wasn't on his territory (even though he knew he was dangerous)
Angel didn't kill Darla or Dru in s2
Spike didn't stake Dru even if he clearly had the chance (s4 or 5?)
Angel tried to save Darla

All they ever do is fight, growl a little bit, and one of them escapes. Maybe they are just evenly strong or they are just not trying hard enough.

Yeah I think they enjoy the toying with and tormenting side of things more. Obviously with humans that naturally progresses to killing, particularly as humans aren't strong enough to fight back.

Vampire vs vampire the torment side would be more fulfilling, particularly as Angel is ensouled.

I think the Gasping, , followed by amnesia might have been notable, and he might have asked something awkward like "what am I doing here spike!?" before his memories reintegrated.

Oh in the scene where Angelus was initialy cursed... it seems he could feel the upcoming curse ahead of time, as otherwise what was he running away from or towards.?

Was he pursuing the gypsy father?

I got the impression he could FEEL that he was being cursed that osmething DREADFUL was about to happen to him.

If restoring Angel's soul had happened before Angelus pulled the sword out and Buffy had to fight him then the outcome of Becoming 2 would have been different. Acathla wouldn't have been activated and Buffy wouldn't had to kill him. Of course as we saw in Buffy season 3 Angel would not have been well received like before because of all that went on;killing Jenny and torturing Giles etc. if it had happened before the killing had gone on before then the rest of season 2 would have been vastly different. Buffy and Angel would have battled Spike and Drucilla together along with other bad guys and there would have been no way to activate acathla. Buffy wouldn't have endured all that torture at the hands of Angelus.
