I was just thinking, what if Cordelia had stayed on Buffy, how do you think her charecter would have evolved? What kind of storylines do you think she would get and who would the former Queen B date?

As far as dating wise, ofcourse Xander is the obvious answer but we all know that Joss wouldnt have kept them together throughout the 7 years so she would have to had to be attached to someone else.

I think she wouldnt have become such the saint she became on Angel in later seasons but with every main female on both casts becoming supernatural at one point or another, I think they would have made her into something. Perhaps a vegence demon?

And I am guessing that Joss and co. would have probably tried to hide her pregnancy during the 7th season unless she would have given birth to The First or something.

I Don't really kno but for some reason i think she might have gotten more into a friendlier relationship with Willow.

Good question. I heard somewhere that if Angel didn't make it its first year Joss was going to bring Cordelia's character back to Buffy (I don't know if that's true). I kind of wonder if Cordelia might have evolved into a Big Bad. Like what Primal Slayer said about her becoming a vengence demon, or maybe a vampire. They've always seemed to have trouble finding someone for Cordelia to date (I'm a Cordelia/Doyle shipper myself but none of her relationships seem to last very long compared to Buffy/Angel/Riley, Willow/Oz/Tara or Xander/Anya).

I'm glad she went to Angel as I think she totally fits with that show and Buffy has enough female cast members while Angel doesn't.

One note about Charisma's pregnancy. I understand that they had to make her pregnancy fit in the storyline, but I kind of would have like see her have a normal pregnancy. I know they kind of already did that with Darla but I always thought it would be interesting to see how they handled one of the Buffy/Angel characters having a normal human child.

I think she needed that seperation from the rest of the gang that she had when she went to LA in order for her character to grow. Like, if she would have stayed in Sunnydale, she probably would have began to hate her life, and actually becoming a big bad isn't as farfetched as I first thought. But as far as the vengeance demon thing, no way. I think she would have started hating not being the big cheese anymore, and becoming the very person she always despised. A townie, no-money loser. At least when she was in LA she had a purpose. That would have gotten lost had she stayed.

The problem is that I can't really imagine a future for Cordy in Sunnydale, sorry. High School was fine because when you're young you have to stay where your parents live, but after that, things change. And going to LA was such a Cordy thing to do. Can anyone seriously imagine her staying in Sunnydale? Attending Sunnydale college (no name college probably) or no college at all? I can't. I think it wouldn't have worked like that.
A different matter would of course be if she came back after some time (which would be the Angel s1 failure) away. Then she would've probably started bragging about her life (the way she did in 'City of' when in reality her life sucked so badly) while feeling all bad inside. So maybe Vengeance Demon would have been a possible storyline.

But they already had vengeance demon with Anya. Oh, also, as Anya was a replacement for Cordy season 4 onwards, I don't think Anya would have become such a dominant character..

Well we did have D'Hofferyn offer it to Willow. So I could see something big happen to Cordelia to make him try to tempt her.

Personally, I have always been fascinated with the idea of Cordy returning to Sunnydale AFTER/DURING her evolution on Angel. I've been curious how the new Cordy would interact with the Buffy cast. I was very, very disappointed that Joss wrote out Angel's telling Buffy that he fell in love with Cordelia. IMO it just lends credibility to my "he was pissed she was pregnant" theory. Cordy may have been redeemed on Angel, but I would have loved to see the likes of Buffy and Xander humbled by her selfless transformation.

I have always wished that Cordy would come back to Sunnydale to see how they all turned out. How they were doing. At some point I think she would figure out Buffy and Spike's relationship (cos Cordy has a flair for those things) and she would be so chocked that she'd just yell "NO WAY! You and SPIKE??"
ROFL
Man I'd like to see that. All those little Cordy things we've missed through the seasons.
"Willow's gay??"
Also I'd like to maybe see a confrontation between Cordy and Buffy. Like Cordy telling she was in love with Angel, and see how Buffy reacted. Then later the wuss to Angel would tell that he loved Cordy too (Cos boy am I hating Angel for leaving out something that important!).

Agreed all of this things would have been great to see... we did get the "Willow's gay?!" moment when Cordy called willow about Harmony... i forget the ep name but it was HILARIOUS!

More like "YOU and SPIKE? About time. Anybody could see how hot you two were fore each other. Perfect match. So, I can have Angel, right? ALRIGHT!!!"
Cordelia would be so pissed if she knew that Loser Xander makes more money than her now and is far more successful in his life. 😀

Not bringing back Cordelia for some cross-over episodes had to be one of their biggest mistakes when it came to both the charecter and the show. Cordelia had history in Sunnydale wheather she liked it or not.

I completely AGREE
I have to disagree with everyone saying that Cordy should have gone back to Sunnydale.

Her story there was finished, she had moved on. The only time it would have been even likely for a cross over for her that made sense would have been in seasons 1 or early 2 BUT this was before Angel so she had nothing to brag about. Ironically the best time for her was the time when she really had no reason to go and it would have been detrimental to her character to do so - she transcended all that.

have to agree with BotD i dont think cordy should have gone back to sunnydale cordy was always bigger than life and bigger than sunnydake she would have no real reason to go back as she is the type of character who would forget her roots as she is bigger than life if that makes sence.

i do on some level think it would have been nice to see her but then common sence tells me to leave it be as she had out grown sunnydale on a personal level whilst she was actually there

Hit me up - it has been a while. How are you doing? Do you MSN or Facebook chat? PM me either way
I don't think her character wouold've have developed as well as it did while she was on Angel. Since she was moved so far away from all of what Sunndale was she was able to evolve which she needed. Other than a cross over like suggested she wouldn't have any sense of beloing.

At the very least it would have been nice if she wasn't shallow or evil when someone from Sunnydale came to visit.....

I can't really imagine Cordelia being stuck in Sunnydale, but however if she had to, in some way I kind of picture her together with Giles. Don't ask me why, but it somehow strikes me to be the oddest thing possible, which in a way tends to be the way of Joss Whedon went for, to look for the thing you least expected.

The last thing I would expect was Cordelia lezzing it up with Joyce.

That train of thought went
Last thing Lezzing up with Willow
No, Buffy,
NO Joyce - and now I can't think of anything I could expect less.

Great! Now I'm going to have serious thoughts all day! :D Or maybe not so serious... images floating in the head now. Thanks! :D

agreed, that has to be most unlikely, lol.
I think perhaps she would've filled the role Anya played, except for the Vengence demon part. If she would've stayed on Buffy, I picture her with an on-again/off-again relationship with Xander and when the marriage didn't work out, she left town for good. As to how she would've benefitted as a character if she would've stayed, beats me.

Cordelia would be so pissed if she knew that Loser Xander makes more money than her now and is far more successful in his life. 😀

I doubt Xander was making more money than her in season 4 with those minimum wage jobs. And by the time Xander did start making that dough on his construction job, Cordelia had already outgrown that whole money hungry phase. She would have been sitting in her big comfy apartment, unphased by his salary. 😀
