If Illyria had taken over Connor.....

would Angel have let thousands die to bring him back? I am marathoning Angel - season 5. Just finished the consumption of Fred, and Connor fighting Sahjon.

Angel changed reality and wiped everyone's memories to save Connor. Would he be willing to do more?

I think he probably would depending on who was included in the thousands. He was willing to sacrifice most or all of the planet for a happily ever after with Buffy so I guess as long as she wasn't in the path then he'd do that for his son.

Angel would somehow rationalize how "the greater good" would be served by sacrificing thousands of lives in order to save his son. Maybe his saving Connor would actually greatly reduce the number of people that would have been killed otherwise, so, by sacrificing those thousands, he was saving millions. That kind of logic worked for him in Season 8, so there's no reason why it couldn't have worked in Season 4 of his own series just as well, especially if he could have singled out one victim to resurrect later, thereby absolving him of all blame.

It depends, for baby connor he would had killed buffy and the world if they got in his path of protecting him. For teenage connor?, hell no. Yes he erased people memories but that wasnt harmful to those people infact some of them like wesley got benefited, he forgot his betrayal. Teenage Connor was a psycho and Angel knew it, he tried to bond with teen connor and all he got was torture at the bottom of the sea and constant betrayal. Angel had a duty as father and was gonna give Connor all the chances he could to bond and love him, but connor was damaged and angel realized this especially after the bomb attempted. There was little bond between them even thought Angel tried. I think Angel would had done the exact same thing for connor, he did for fred, maybe a little more. Killing thousands of people for teen Connor? i think not, Maybe if they had had more time to care for eachother after Connor regained his memories.

It's so hard for me to say. As a parent, if I had to do what Angel did to rescue one of my kids, I would do it without a pause. Not that there is any way any evil law firm would want me..... I don't know if I would kill thousands of people I didn't know and love. That is an incredibly hard choice. In a way I am not sure which is the good choice, but I haven't come up with a decent rationalization

Angel wouldn't have sacrificed Connor for thousands of innocent people because there's no 'greater good' dilemma. Every other time he's done something morally questionable there's been a 'greater good' in the offering. Altering his friends minds to give Connor a new life, killing Drogen, even Twilight was about saving the world, gaining redemption AND getting Buffy- it was a three in one thing)

Far more likely is Angel's other habit- going dark. Way dark.
I see him being desperate to save Connor but when that became impossible he sets up his 'infiltrate W&H inner circle plan' in earnest, he does anything to gain admittance to the Circle of the Black thorn and then goes about slaughtering them and to hell with any one or anything. And he would almost certainly die in the attempt (and probably get others killed with his recklessness) because with Connor dead what had been the point of joining W&H in the first place?

So Angel goes out in a blaze of glory taking a great deal of the senior partners with him- that scenario is the one I see.
