Question If it came down to it, would Angel ever be able to kill Buffy?

I'm not sure, I think he'd find it very, very difficult. When Darla
was turned again, (I can't remember the outcome, I don't really like AtS) I remember him finding it very hard, deciding what to do.
 
It would have to be the absolute last resort to save the world, or something like that. Similar to the position Buffy was in when she sent him to Hell. If the scales were that seriously stacked, I think he could. But I also think it would shatter him. No matter what he does he always comes back, but I just don't know how he would come back from that.

If she turned evil I think Angel would die trying to find a way to turn her good again, but if the only way to save the Earth was to kill Buffy I think he might do it, but in a way they're both killed.

Everything that happened to him and his friends in LA seem to have made him jaded to death which made him even more of a cold person than he was in Sunnydale. Even back then he had a "whatever" attitude to death and he seemed to care less about saving people and being a hero each year in LA. So if Buffy did need to be killed by him I think he'd do something that would kill them both because she was the one that made him feel the happiest and most human.
 
Angel cares about doing good, if buffy had to die I think he wkuld kill her. I disagree that the would kill himself with her though.

I think he would feel the need to survive, like if he was taking buffy out of the world he has even more to do to redeem his past.

Spike has always bwwn more of a romantic. I dont think he.would ever kill buffy. The only exception to that would be if he felt extremely betrayed by and angry at buffy I could seem him in a fit of emotional rage killing her. If he did I could see him killing himself over it due to depression.

I don't think Angel would kill himself either.
Angel's a hero. If he absolutely had to, he would've, like what Buffy did in Becoming. But I think he would concentrate more on saving her, Faith-style, or if it were a spell, freeing her from it.
 
As for Angel, barring a sniper rifle from 100 yards away, I don't think that he would, because he wouldn't be physically capable of doing it, even if he could justify the action to himself using his old "for the greater good" crutch.

As for Spike, the question of could or could not wouldn't ever come up, because he simply wouldn't do it, nor would he allow anyone else to do it, no matter how evil she became. He even said as much when Willow and the others resurrected her in Season 6 ("...because I wouldn't let you kill whatever came back, no matter how wrong it came back...") What he would more likely try to do would be to somehow restrain Buffy, reducing or even stopping any harm she might attempt. For instance, if she decided that it was her turn to try and end the world, he would have tried to find some way to talk her out of it. Failing that, he would be right there at her side when it all came crashing down.
 
Pretty much what Kean said. It would absolutely devistate him but he would know in his heart that Buffy would do the same for him (and did) if it was required for saving the world.
 
Angel would probably try to, but fail miserably as she kicked his ass in every confrontation, even when he was evil and she was slightly holding back.

An Evil Buffy could be stopped by Willow only.
 
To save the world, Angel could.

Spike would let the world get sucked into hell before he let anyone, (least of all himself), lay a finger on Buffy. He's already said so.

PS: I think that sort of nicely sums up the difference between the two vampires regarding the way the love her of course, and the way they live life.
 
The Twilight prophecy in S8 was about a vampire and a slayer, the best of their kind. It wasn't made for Angel specifically or for Buffy specifically. When Angel received the powers and from a vampire candidate he became the vampire in question, he did everything in his power to push Buffy to the edges and drive her to become the slayer in question.

That's the reason why Giles was afraid of Gigi and sent Faith to assassin her, he was seeing her as the best candidate at the moment to become the slayer who would fill the Twilight role, and that's why at the end Gigi was killed by Angel's minions. So yes, Angel wanted Buffy to become the slayer part of the Twilight prophecy, but if things had gone wrong and another slayer had taken her place, Angel would have turned against Buffy and would have killed her, because obviously Buffy would have tried to stop Twilight from happening.
 
Mentally Angel could bring himself to do the right thing and try to kill Buffy if she became evil. Physically he'd wind up getting himself killed, because.... uh, she's the slayer.
 
If it was the last possible solution,for say if the world was in danger,then i think he would. I think it would have to be a similar sort of situation to Becoming.
 
I don't have a doubt that he would be willing to kill her. He gave up so much to rescue the earth. More than once. If Buffy turned evil I am sure he would try everything to safe her but when he realizes that he isn't able to stop her he would kill her. Because he know that as he wished that if he would returns into Angelus, Buffy should kill him and so if it's the other way around, it's his job and duty to hinder Buffy.
 
Angel would certainly try to stop her. And do it out of honor for the woman he loved, earlier in her life, the Buffy he fell in love with.
 
Of course he would, if he had to. He gave up his son for the greater good, so I think if the circumstances were right then of course he'd give up Buffy and kill her if there was no other way.

That's what separates him from Spike. Angel is the slightly more conventional hero/champion as he's willing to sacrifice almost everything to get the job done. Spike is more human and selfish.
