If Oz had stayed

I read an article where JW said if Oz had stayed the whole show and Tara never existed then he would have been the one to have got shot and died instead of Tara. So had he stayed he would have been killed off.,

Oz has a better understanding of what it's like to lose control than Tara does, so he might have been more willing to help Willow during her magic addiction, instead of just bailing on her the way Tara did.

Again, I don't know if that's an unpopular opinion or not.

I think Tara did try to help Willow but Willow was in that "I DON'T have a problem!" junkie phase. She didn't want help. Her main reason for leaving ....and I agree with her...is when Willow was mind raping her to forget everything.
I spent a lot of time pondering what a Ripper TV show would have been like, with Anthony Head (RIP) as a Doctor Who-like character, but I wonder what an Oz-led spin-off show might have been like, if Seth hadn't gone into films? A real Jekyll and Hyde story, with added fur and fangs!

Btw am I the only person who found Without A Paddle both funny and well-observed (if admittedly silly)?

A Ripper TV show, even made 20 years ago, would probably not have starred Anthony, they'd have needed a younger actor. I think it would have been more like a mini-series really. I could see six episodes of young Giles and friends causing trouble in London could be interesting, but could not have seen five or seven seasons of it.

An Oz show...I could kind of see it. You'd start with a flashback to when he first leaves Sunnydale, spend an episode or two on his journey to bring the wolf under control, traveling the world. Then in the "present", we find Oz has settled somewhere, for some reason I could see him in New York City, splitting his time between trying to control his werewolf nature and using it to fight evil. Eventually, Willow comes to see him and helps him find stability using a powerful magical ritual.

i would watch this!

Oz was a super laconic kinda werewolf lol. Unless they decided to give him a new hobby, like doing slam poetry events, I didn't see the character stretching that far. he and Willow were cute together, but it was another doomed romance. her chemistry with Tara was much more interesting to me. although i liked Oz.
