...do you think he and Buffy may have ended up together again?

I am aware I may be severly mocked for even thinking about it, but what can I say, we all saw how she wanted to be with him at the end of 'Into The Woods'. I liked Riley and I thought he was cool, especially after the whole hooked on vampire bites thing, because he seemed more real.

I think...if they got the chance they could have made it, for awhile, at least.
 
i kinda think that ya if he wouldn't have been married that maybe they might have hooked up agian but not for too long since joss doesn't like happy relationships and such lol...

Just about what I was going to say.
I'm not a Buffy/Riley shipper or anything, but It always kind of makes me sad at the end of Into The Woods when Buffy misses her shot.

But yeah, if they were together, there'd be no Spuffy, and who would want that?

I think she might have gotten back with him but it wouldn't have lasted. She was needey when Riley showed up in Season 6. She really wanted someone to love her...but it didn't work the first time, she didn't love him enough 🙂
 
I actually don't think so. I mean something might have happened between them but I don't think they would have lasted longer than the episode. He was just not a part of the story anymore, I usually even skip this episode when I'm watching season 6, or showing it someone.. I mean it's a pretty pointless episode (Riley wise, of course)..
 
I really didn't think any possible relationship between Buffy and Riley came to my mind at that point.

While "As You Were" isn't one of my favourite episodes I must say I was really happy to see Riley show up in line at the Doublemeat Palace. Happy for Buffy. Her world had just gotten so depressing at that point, with her money problems, her difficulty at being able to adjust to the world around her, her parenting problems with Dawn etc, etc. Riley showing up was like an echo from an earlier and happier time in Buffy's life - the freedom of the first year of college, and a time when she still had her mom.

I was surprised at how cheerful it made me feel, because I had had mixed feelings about Riley the first time though.
 
If Riley hadnt gotten married and tried to make a move on Buffy I would have stabbed Riley with sporks myself!!! TRust me.. i can be dangerous.. with sporks anyways.... DIE RILEY.. anything that comes between Spike and Buffy will die!
 
they mite have got back tgether for a little while but it wouldnt of lasted,not because theyre two totally different people who dont have anything in common but because they do what they do in a totally different way,theyre both set in their ways when it comes to slaying and after some time they would have realised that and remembered why they broke up in the first place.
plus Spike was in the picture.it was Buffy and Spikes time to be together and have their thing,not for her and Riley to get back together.
 
why would you want such a thing to happen? Don't get me wrong, if he was going to make her happy then fair enough....but no! he hasnt got the emotional capability to cope with her being stronger than him after the Initiative went under. theres no way they would have lasted long term enough to get married and live happily ever after....well as happily as you can in Sunnydale. As Spike once said 'she needs a bit of monster in her man' he just wasnt dangerous enough for her. ok maybe dangerous is going a bit too far, but a Bad Boy is what she needs. and riley finn from Iowa just aint it! PLus i LOVE Spuffy! That might make me a little biased but i do believe i have stated the case firmly in the Hell No! category
 
Absolutely not. And not because Spike and Buffy are meant to be together (theyre not. Deal with it) but because it was just over.

Buffy hurt Riley in a big way when he left and he hurt her in a big way by leaving. It had been too long and even if Riley had never met Sam, he was a different person by then. He had a whole new life that didnt include Buffy. I cant see him giving that up to be with her after how it went last time. Buffy was basically just using him. She decided she loved him as he was leaving but whos to say that wasnt just because she was scared of him leaving her and her being alone? I mean look what happened after that. She moved straight on to Ben until she herself realised she didnt need a man to be happy. That what Riley was to her. Someone to stop her being alone.

They were both different people. He'd moved on with his new life and she'd moved onto Spike (literally 😛)

what, im not giving you negavtive karma cos i dont ever give negative... only positive.. and there is nothing positive about what you just said!!! Spuffy is meant to be .. okay.. Riley is just ew... DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE i wished that helicopter crashed as he flew away. ... and he died.
 
It isn't about who Buffy was *meant* to be with. That's the whole point; she ended up with just her family and friends at the end, because maybe, she wasn't meant to be with Riley, Angel, or Spike.

We all have our favorites, and we all have our versions of what we think should have happened or might have happened later on. No one is ever going to be right.

I love Spuffy, but even I will admit, if Buffy/Spike or Buffy/Angel were "true loves", then Joss would have reconciled it at the end of Ats5 (minus SMG not wanting to commit)

I'm really not as depressing as I sound, I'm big on the Spuffy Fanfic. But shipper arguments drive me nuts, because no one is ever right 😀

Angel was on Buffy for 3 years solidly; Spike about 5 with his disappearances, and such and Riley 1.5. How much time they were there doesn't matter, its what they did while they were there. 😀 Sure I'm a Spuffy-Shipper 😀 And I would love argue that fact. But I'm only posted cause charmed gave me crap about not staning up for my ship 😀

Well, as somebody who actually liked Riley but didn't think he was right for Buffy at all (waaaay too much of a "mister nice guy" for her needs) I'd have to agree with the general feeling that it would never have worked.

Buffy didn't want a guy like Riley. She just wanted to want a guy like Riley. 😉

Of course Buffy didnt want a guy like Riley, heck I dont think she even thought wanting to want a guy like Riley was going to happen, well it did but it didnt work did it *you know why, well thats a funny story, i have an army of sporks* anyways continuing... of course he was "too nice" for Buffy and her needs.. now what sort of guy would buffy need? hmmm.. lets just say the slayer aint so innocent
