If Riley and Buffy had gotten back together, I'd die. I just don't think I could bear it. He the the most annoying "big" character on the show, and he and Buffy were a terrible couple. I hated their whole relationship. And anyway, even if Buffy did want him, I don't think she was in any kind of state to be able to have a healthy relationship in season six.

I'm not a Buffy/Riley shipper or anything, but It always kind of makes me sad at the end of Into The Woods when Buffy misses her shot.

But yeah, if they were together, there'd be no Spuffy, and who would want that?

I was rather disappointed that Riley turned out to be married, to that awful (and unattractive) girl with a terrible New York type accent... Sam was an awful character; Riley seemed to have progressed, but maybe that only happened because he wasn't with Buffy and he had found his niche in life again... I don't know, but anything that could have prevented Buffy getting with Spike would have been a plus in my book...
