If there was a portal, would you jump?

I was just replying to a Pylea thread and it got me thinking. Would you be brave enough to leave this world if you saw a portal to another. Whether you know what it's like there or not?
I want to think I would be brave enough. If there was a world like the new and improved Pylea I would go. Can you imagine helping to futher build a new world? I would want to be president tho!

I would not jump. In this world, I am dissatisfied with a lot of things, but I am satisfied enough not to want to risk ending up somewhere worse.
 
But in pylea you would be a cow!! I like the idea, and Giles's words from the Wish seem to ring in my head, Anya asks him how he knew the 'other' world would be better and he says 'cuz it has to be'. I think I'd get a return ticket though, Utopia's never really exist do they?

Maybe I'd chance it if I am feeling depressed enough when the opportunity presents itself.

Likelihood increasing if I see a preview and it's not hell, like I can see rainbows and bunnies on the other side before I jump through.

At least Pylea had other humans and an Earth-like atmosphere and gravity.
 
Hell if one appeared right now next to me, I'd jump in, I'm in the mood. lol
Maybe I'll hit an alternate dimension where everything is the same except there is better t.v. shows still on!!

Thats not a portal you need, it's the Delorian! so you can rewind 10 years!
 
haha!! that'd be great too ^_^ but i couldn't wait 10 years to find out what happens on heroes 😛 ... eh... okay I'll go back 10 years ^_^

Watch Roswell, Buffy, Andromeda, Are you afraid of the dark (lol) Stargate sg-1, etc. etc. all over again Live!! Hell yea Plus i'd make sure VM got a 4th season haha
 
and Angel didn't get cancelled and you could come back then in time for Heroes
 
I might consider jumping into some other dimension if I knew what I was getting into and that I really wanted to get into it. Just to jump blindly on the hopes of winding up in a better place doesn't strike me as a good thing to do. (Of course, now, if it were a world without broccoli...)
 
Ohhh I missed this thread last year.

For me it is a no brainer.
Its not about being disatisfied in this world, its about looking for adventure.

I Don't know anyone that is happy enough in the mundane 9-5 that wouldn't pass it up if they were offered the chance of a new life in say India, Africa, New Zealand - and none of those have certainties.

The only difference between this and those are getting home, but for me that only adds to the adventure.

Sure I'd want to take some friends with me but to be honest, even if they said no, I would go because, well quite frankly, why not?
 
Damn, I also missed this thread last year.

But yes, I would probably jump through the portal. Actually the probability is like 90% haha. It'd be out of pure curiosity. I know "curiosity killed the cat" would more than likely come into play after I did jump into the portal but...I wouldn't be able to resist.

Plus, when I was a little girl I always wanted to find something like a portal to jump through and take me to another world. So maybe that fantasy never quite left me....hehe
 
Yes and no. I've learned to cherish what I have in this world, but I've also thought about what if there was another world? One without disease or cancer or any of that crappy stuff? If my family was with me, I'd definitely jump. If there was someone that needed saving, I'd jump. If it was just for fun and just me, then no.
 
Eh, I probably wouldn't jump. I don't exactly wanna end up in Pylea. But I'd probably throw something in it just to see what happened.
