How do you think Season 5 would've ended?
Joss has just discovered that he's on for Season 6, so he didn't have to wrap things up so damn quick.
What would've changed? Who would Team Angel end up fighting if not the Circle of the Black Thorn (they seemed to be being built up for the BIG end finale.)

We might've seen those mysterious cyborg baddies from 'Lineage', perhaps? The idea of Team Angel fighting some fanatical good guys always intrigued me.

Any other theories?

Honestly, I think it would have ended in the exact same way. The way the season ended was very open for a 6th season. Although they might have extended a few storyline, like Black Thorn, Wes dying, Fred/Illyria etc.

A lot of people - writers, cast, etc - have all said that things would have ended pretty much the same way had they known they were getting another season.

The only things we know for sure that would have changed were that Gunn was supposed to die instead of Wesley (perhaps he was going to be sired, like the comics) and Lindsey was not originally meant to die. Joss only decided to kill Lindsey because he had Christian Kane signed on for the rest of the season and he couldn't back out when Joss wanted to kill him like he had done every single other time Joss had tried to kill Lindsey, lol.

Everything else, from all reports, was what was originally scheduled to happen, S6 or no S6.

I can't recall where I read about these, so they might be truth, partial fact, lies, or just wishful thinking. Take your pick.

There would still have been an "After The Fall" arc, but with budget considerations, it would have been shorter and less elaborate.

Fred would have returned, with Amy playing both her and Illyria.

Nina's role would have been expanded, whether or not that means that her relationship with Angel would have continued or not, I don't know.

Joss was considering bringing Oz back to help Nina cope with her condition, change at will, and retain at least minimal control as a werewolf.

Connor would have become either a regular or a frequent guest.

A team of Slayers would be assigned to the Los Angeles (that actually was done in IDE's "After The Fall" arc) and Faith might possibly make an appearance, depending on what her own series, "Tru Calling" did.

Kate might have returned (which, again, actually did happen in the comics) as a regular or occasional guest star.

Take 'em or leave 'em, any or all, because I can't point to a single hard quote substantiating anything, but, I promise, I personally didn't make up a single one.

I thought season 6 was generally planned out, but they crammed it into the last three episodes?

I would have loved the lack of cramming and a series revolving around the issues of those epispdes
