Do we think Tara would go crazy like Willow did?

I personnally would say no but I have a feeling Tara would do something, and I think it would have been awesome if they did make her go all dark . It would have showed us a part of Tara that we'd never seen.

I'd be all for it! :nibble6:

She didn't really have as much power as Willow, so she couldn't go AS dark.
And besides, if it was Willow's brain then all the season six malarky wouldn't work out. Tara and Willow arguing was brought on because it reminded Tara of what Glory did to her, remember?
It might still have worked, but I doubt it.
And if it had been Tara, wouldn't have seen a glimpse of the amazing Dark Willow. 😉

Hm, Tara was nervous about Willow's magics even in the beginning of 5th season long before Glory. She's probably already sensed where this "magic makes life easier" idea of Willow may lead. Remember, Tara had these psychic powers - she could see people auras, or could read hands. No wonder she was so worried about Willow messing with powerfull stuff.

Also, Tara doesn't seen to possess such dark side. She's failed even being demon. And who would have brought Buffy out from catatonia f our mighty witchy Willow would be 'plant-like" when Glory took Dawn away?

Yeah but just think of the scene if it HAD of been Tara. Don't change all the story just think about her in Willow's shoes.

I don't think she would have gone all dark, I WISH she had have done, I think it would have been awesome. Kinda like when we see Anya dark. It's a big change of heart, but a fun one.! ^.^

I might confuse things again (I often do) but the brainsucking just... .. Season 6 spoiler (not everyone that reads in this section have watched that season) (
...got Willow "started" right? She didn´t get all dark until Tara died
. So I don´t think Tara would have gone dark. Upset and doing everything to help, sure. But getting dark? Nah.

I think that Tara would have surprised a lot of people if she had ever gotten really, really mad. No, her response probably wouldn't have been the almost blind rage that Willow felt, but that in and of itself might have made her all that more dangerous. Her attack would have been better thought out, calculated more carefully to do the most amount of damage. A bag of knives? Imagine a train load of Bengal tigers. And, don't forget, magic was as much a part of her heritage as being the Slayer was Buffy's. Certainly, she never did any of the spectacular things (like resurrecting Buffy) that Willow did, but that doesn't mean that she couldn't have if it were really necessary. If their roles were reversed, and Glory had sucked Willow's consciousness out, Glory would have been facing a much colder, more calculating, and just as deadly avenging witch in the form of a really ticked off Tara.

Yeah I thought that. I mean I couldn't see Tara smashing into Glory's apartment bearing snakes and a bag of tricks either.

But it would have been cool. I love it when Tara uses her power, like in Normal Again.

AHH White Avenger I thought that! That Tara's attack would have been less of a blind rage, and would have managed to perhaps slow Glory down and daze her more than Willow's attacks. After all we know Glory takes head on power attacks and shrugs them off her.

Whereas things like the Dagon Sphere which hits her more mentally has a more greater effect on her.

One thing that I feel is probably worth noting - Tara tended to be the witch who most often used magic in a combat situation. Willow wasn't as good with that, until the end of Season 6. That really makes me think that a combative Tara, blind to her inhibitions, fears and conscience could have been a formidable foe.

I think Tara is more level headed. She would want revenge. But she would prepare for it, work on her magic, find every possible weakness Glory had, and then lay the smackdown. As Lindsey ^ stated, she is good when it comes to using magic in combat situation. It would have been fun to see.

I agree with Atticus and Lindsey, an angry Tara would be really fun to watch. She would work her plan of attack out much better than Willow, who just basically stumbled in. Although I wouldn't have wanted to miss this angry Willow.

Me too! too bad we aren't getting the figure.

Seeing Tara use her combat is other situations makes me considerably positive that she would really get one on Glory.

Man I love Tara.... 😀

I, for one, would have LOVED to see angry, dark magic-fueled Tara. Still, it just doesn't seem too realistic to me. Unlike Willow, Tara had grown up around magic, and she knew what getting into the darker stuff entailed. She wouldn't have risked turning into an addict just to attempt to get revenge. Willow, on the other hand, had ignorance on her side and didn't know that delving into the darker stuff would lead to something as bad as her addiction.

Still, the main reason why Tara probably wouldn't have gone after Glory would have been the fact that she's very level-headed. Yes, she definitely would have tried to find a way to get Willow's brain back, but I think she would have had the common sense to avoid wreaking pointless vengeance on Glory. Willow, on the other hand, was much more impulsive and driven by rage. Plus, even though she wasn't that much more powerful than Tara, she was much more confident in what she could do and probably thought she could do more damage.

Maybe but are we forgetting that Willow was still shy and quircky up until this point?

I mean we do see her darker points but she changed everyones view after this. Who's to say Tara wouldn't have done the same?

That's true, up until then I think no-one knew how angry Willow doing magic looked like, or even how angry Willow could be. At least, I didn't.

I certainly never either.

Willow's spell on Angel in Becoming Part 2 had me shaking and that pales in comparison to the scene in Tough Love.

I've got Tough Love on now actually :cheering:

There would been no Dark Tara or whatever you call it. That was not Tara way, she had dealt with big loss before (her mother died) and she would not have gone black eyed. I would even go as far as to say that was what set her apart from Buffy, Willow and Anya who all had rather extreme reactions. She would have continued determined to restore Willow and find way to defeat Glory. In overall it would have only affected her determination and effort at most i think (leaving aside emotional part).

But this would have been an evil being that inflicted the pain on Willow. Not an illness that destroyed her mother. It was very much IN Tara's power to do something. Unlike her mum's death, which was natural cause.

And we've all seen how trying to use magic to alter the effect of natural causes is interpreted.

I don't think it would have worked to be honest...because if Willow was the one who'd been brain sucked then there would be no one really powerful enough to perform the magicks willow uses in the final few episodes....there wouldn't be the barrier to protect them at the gas station....buffy would still be torturing herself physchologically in that fixed loop once Glory takes Dawn....and i don't think Tara would posses the power to help willow get better the way willow did with her.

And Tara also strongly believes that the natural order of things shouldn't be tampered with, and ok being brain sucked by a hell god isn't natural but i'm not sure Tara would risk the complications that would arise by treating a medical condition with magic. She explains it when Joyce gets diagnosed with her brain tumour, it's something like...more things could go wrong then the chance of it being fixed...i know that's nothing like what she said but it was along those lines.

Don't get me wrong i'm a huge fan of the whole Tara and Willow relationship, i think it's the best one i've seen on any tv show or film, it's just it wouldn't really flow with the story arc to the following season.

I know it's not the same but i did see a video someone had made that was about ...What Would of Happened If Willow Was Shot Instead....it was brilliantly done with clips from previous episodes and it got me thinking about something that i'd never even contemplated before..

Personally I think if Glory had of sucked out Willow's grey matter instead of Tara's I think she'd of been unstoppable - there would be no way that Buffy & Co could have stopped her from killing Dawn and destroying the Earth as we know it.

There would be nobody, perhaps with the exception of Giles and the coven from the UK who gave him the power to fight Dark Willow - with the power to restore Willow's mind if they'd actually killed Glory as Tara hadn't enough magic(k) inside of her to restore Willow.

Amy perhaps could have restored Willow's brain, but then she was a rat so that counts her out doesn't it.

Tara would have probably responded more level-headed than Willow. Research, that kind of thing. She definitely would have found a way to bring Willow back, but probably without going all psycho.

That doesn't mean that the whole season-six discrepancy wouldn't have happened. Messing with someone's brain is a pretty serious thing, even if she hadn't been tampered with already.
