This is from me to you, non comic readers. I do not like comics. I can't help it, they don't interest me. But of course how could I not get season 8 of my favorite show? Well of course I did, and I read all 4 issues. I had no idea what the heck I was doing. So I guess you could say I didn't really enjoy it. Until last night. I paid so much attention to detail and actually didn't gap anything out while reading and I LOVE SEASON 8. And comics are pretty great themselves. So if you are not a comic person and are having a hard time with them, just try it again, that's all I can suggest. Pay attention to all the details. It really helps to super look at the pictures, lol.:lmao: :lmao:
 
i second that - I was not really a comic person, but like you say how could I not read season 8 , and now I relise I wasnt a comic person as I had never tried reading them.

I think it leaves more to the imagination.
 
yes! exactly! it took me a few times reading them to actually understand. i have the worst attention span with reading. but i'm finally getting the hang of it hahaha. i love the buffy comics.
 
Well, I am not a comic fan, and I have bought and read season 8 and will still report to you that I am not a comic fan. It's too jumpy for my tastes and just not realistic enough for me.
 
I still say...animated buffy cartoon, with the new anime that's out there. Although I know it was already discussed and wasn't going to fly for many a reason, it would still be cool to me. Buffy and Will from the chaos bleeds game could do the voices on the cartoon and well I don't see why the rest of the gang wouldn't get involved. It would be so much better than a comic.
 
I haven't been a comics person since my college days during the Golden Age of Marvel, when X Men, Spiderman, and the Avengers were just getting started, but for Buffy Season 8, I'll fall back off the wagon.
 
I wasn't into comics either until I heard Season8 was coming in comics, so I read Fray, and loved it.. so it was easier to get the rhythm of reading comics. But having said that I'm not interested in any comic that doesn't have writers I follow.
 
One thing I notice is that some people have been complaining about the constant jump cuts Joss uses - jumping from one location, set of characters, back to another as the story plays out. That's common with movies, TV, but it can be more confusing in comics, especially if there are 3 or 4 jumps on a single page.

And I hate it when I read dialogue out of order cos I didn't follow the visual flow correctly. It's not always left to right, top to bottom. Sometimes that's just bad design, layout on the part of the artist.

There are easier comics out there to read; this one's somewhere in the middle of the pack I'd say.

this one of the hardest things I have found trying to get use to with reading comics.
 
I never had a hard time figuring out which part to read first, or how the pages were set up to be read. I think it's because I didn't pay attention to the detail, you know..take a look at the pictures to understand what is going on. But I've got it now. 🙂

Totally, that can be so confusing. I remember being very confused the first time I read Astonishing X-Men, but after a while, when you get in to the style of the comic it gets easier. (Though it can be more confusing with some comics than others).

Yeah that's just something you have to get used to. I'm not completely used to it yet, I'm still too new to comics. I'm working on it though, lol. And I do want to really get into comics (and I do have a few that I love)..

I wish. They had already thought about it but couldn't get the go ahead on it. Something about showtimes. The day was not good and prime time was not good for a cartoon. I don't agree. Isn't the simpsons a cartoon, and isn't it and shows like family guy on in the evening? I think it could work.
 
comics are like the show in that the more you read them the better they get and the more you get out of them. i've gotten quite comiccy since starting to read season 8. I recomend Fray, Tales of the Vampires and tales of the Slayers - they are all fantastic. Spike: Asylum was good too.
 
Well I still have my comics wrapped up waiting until I get to the end of season 7 again. It's been a couple of years since I watched the whole series so I want it fresh in my mind when I begin with the comics.
